Harry Reid to Bush: Cram that veto stamp up your pooper

posted at 5:55 pm on June 22, 2007 by Allahpundit

I’m paraphrasing slightly. The Senate majority leader naturally wouldn’t use a word like “pooper,” not because it’s uncollegial but because it’s simply not equal to the task at hand. “Poop chute,” perhaps. But “pooper”? Just not senatorial.

Still, the intent is clear:

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid is known for his tough and sometimes controversial talk toward the Bush Administration, and on Friday the Nevada Democrat offered a newly biting comment in response to the White House’s veto threat of the Senate’s energy bill.

“They can take their rubber stamp and you know what they can do with it,” Reid said Friday. “We’re going to continue to do what we think is right for the American people.”

Exit question: Is this worth a little faux outrage or no? Nothing annoys me more than when the left affects phony shock at conservatives “working blue,” as happened a few months ago when some tool at HuffPo pretended to be offended by my goofing on Sheryl Crow’s one-square-wiping policy. I’m thinking we let Harry skate here, purely on principle. Who’s for a little healthy degradation of the political discourse?

Blowback

It’s friday, give him a pass. Going to all of the summer evening dinners he can strut around as “da man”.

“They can take their rubber stamp and you know what they can do with it,”

Um, stamp stuff?

“We’re going to continue to do what we think is right for the American people.”

Yep, because Harry Reid know what’s right for me, more than I do.

“We’re going to continue to do what we think is right for the American people, because they’re too stupid to know what is right for them.”

This coming from a Democrat?

“They can take their rubber stamp and you know what they can do with it,”

Hmmm… is this how he “defends the Constitution” as I believe his oath states… after all, the Presiential Veto is a part of the Constitution last time I checked…

You know, that whole seperation of power thing… but.. then agian… we do have Dems trying to do foreign policy as well (Pelosi/Syria)… so is this just a further assault on the Constitution?

Non-story. It’s not as if there isn’t a treasure trove of other damning evidence anyway.

SouthernDem on June 22, 2007 at 6:09 PM

So I guess it is now Senator ‘Vaseline’?

Damn skippy!

csdeven on June 22, 2007 at 6:12 PM

If you “rubber stamp” things–you approve them automatically and uncritically. Why would Reid want GWB to cease his automatic approval of Senate bills?

Blue or not, that wasn’t a very smart thing to say.

see-dubya on June 22, 2007 at 6:13 PM

I’ll second Allah’s attitude on this, I can’t worked up over this.

And SouthernDem is right, there are a million and one things to hammer the corrupt Reid on anyway.

Bad Candy on June 22, 2007 at 6:15 PM

If anyone on the Dem’s side of the aisle should know about proctology, it’s Hairy.

I am, BUNGHOLIO!

They can stick it up their Harry Reid

Wade on June 22, 2007 at 6:20 PM

Harry has been crapping on Bush on a daily basis. Now he has a fixation on GB’s anus. Shouldn’t we be concerned about the Senate Pages?

Helloyawl on June 22, 2007 at 6:24 PM

Harry seems s-o-o-o butch!

Well, the new Junior Senator from WY, Dr. John Barrasso, will be of no help to the Rats when it comes to trying to override this veto :) .

I’d get worked up, but it’s Friday.

Poop chutes are indignant, when considering the sourse…

On a serious note, getting away from our oil-dependency w/b a good thing. This c/b separated from the global warming fairy tales. It is a sane subject to tackle by itself.

Entelechy on June 22, 2007 at 6:41 PM

Oh, I just loveeeee a man who talks dirty, Harry.

Ooooooops.

Without a sound-track of Reid’s irritatingly squeeky voice, an image of Clint came to mind.

My bad.

Anybody got the technology to do a Limp Bizkit parody?

I did it all for the people! (C’mon!)
The people! (C’mon!)
So you can take that stamper
and stick it up your (Yeah!)
stick it up your (Yeah!)

etc.

or maybe not…

Viewtifulgare on June 22, 2007 at 6:52 PM

Considering the “crap” bills coming out of the democratic congress it isnt much of a reach to call it “Rubber stamping poop”.

Lick my love pump Harry. When ever I am in Vegas the Cab drivers are pissed when I only need to go a few miles and not out to the Ranch for an $110.00 fare. Oh and yeah they take my dog and alcohol too.

wherestherum on June 22, 2007 at 7:05 PM

Saying “pooper” is funnier anyways. Need proof? Next time you’re in a bar and see a girl with a nice but, say out loud “nice pooper” in a heavy French accent. Bonus points if you say it too her face; there’s only a 1 in 3 chance you’ll get slapped so it’s worth it.

Foreplay? Is it real or is it love/hate love/hate or maybe just a pickup line, a sort of John-sidewalk Princess relationship?

We can hope it’s Reids’ liberal passion meets libpub Bushs’ angst.

Speakup on June 22, 2007 at 7:17 PM

I’m with you Allah. After saying things like, “This war is lost”, this is kinda tame.

Poor Harry, the Veto pen is mightier than the most unapproved Congress in History.

Congress is hard.

Stormy70 on June 22, 2007 at 7:29 PM

It’s actually quite a decent performance.

Didn’t the media get all exercised about Cheney using a slang anatomical reference to describe Adam Nagourney in 2000?

I think they did.

Martin on June 22, 2007 at 7:32 PM

Reid is such an idiot. He talks and acts like a spoiled brat kid. That entire Democrat congress is incredibly spooky.

rplat on June 22, 2007 at 8:00 PM

As for Harry….the world yawned.

They can take their rubber stamp and you know what they can do with it,” Reid said Friday. “We’re going to continue to do what we think is right for the American people..Is it just me? Does anyone see a problem with Reids statement? Them doing what they ‘think is right for the American people’ Uh Yeah did you ever think of asking the American people? To paraphrase Butthead here… Hey dillweed your a real dillhole! But wait Harry Reid is known for his tough and sometimes contriversial talk towards the Bush Administration?!?! HaHaHa WTF?! I am the great Cornholio and I need TP for my bunghole!

sonnyspats1 on June 22, 2007 at 8:28 PM

I hate to say it but apparently Reid has bigger balls than Bush does.

Sad , But true.

Destined to become a classic, Wade.

Masterful. :)

I love it when the windbag liberals say that. The irony, and the blatant falsehood, is so thick you can cut it with a knife.

SilverStar830 on June 23, 2007 at 12:57 AM

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid is known for his partisan tough and sometimes incomprehensible controversial talk whining toward the Bush Administration

Fixed it.

BacaDog on June 23, 2007 at 4:27 AM

You don’t know what’s right for you! Dirty Harry knows what’s right for you! So you just give old Harry some more pork and shut up! Like you would know as an American what is right for you….sheeeeesh.

wherestherum on June 22, 2007 at 6:32 PM

It’s a fine distinction, but it’s the difference between the Senate and the House. House representatives fit your statement above more directly, yes. Senators are expected to take a broader view (State-wide, intra-state, and federal) in their deliberations and decision-making. That’s why they treasure the ‘appearance’ of getting along together, sometimes even above doing what they think is right. That’s why St. John praises Teddy Kennedy, why Mel Martinez refers on the floor to his ‘good friend Charles Schumer’, when you know they don’t mean a word of it. Well, maybe McCain means it.

All that is why it matters so very much more who we elect as legislators than President, apart from judicial and executive nominations. Too often, we vote for whom we think will get our district the most stuff, instead of someone who will serve with a conscience. And thus, we get the government we deserve.

Freelancer on June 23, 2007 at 4:53 PM

Good point! Poop chute is not only senatorial, but it’s a synonym for them.
