Audio: Mark Levin thrashes Trent Lott’s long and undistinguished record

This is from last night’s show, and it’s a gem. Levin begins by noting that he defended Lott during the Strom Thrumond brouhaha, but moves quickly into Lott’s record supporting the Fairness Doctrine all the way back to 1987. From there, it’s off to Lott’s goat fence analogy and Lott’s attitude toward voters who are trying to “intimidate” him on immigration. Levin concludes that Lott’s time as a Republican leader in the Senate should come to an end. He’s right.

No one can B*tch slap like Levin. :)

Lott was a co-sponsor of a resolution supporting the construction by Israel of a security fence to prevent Palestinian terrorist attacks.

I guess he thinks they work for terrorist but not for goats or illegal aliens.

Another Politician that is in favor of bypassing “The People”.

Why are all of the Republicans going in the toilet??

americaslaststand on June 21, 2007 at 2:13 PM

Probably because they all have gone to the highest bidders, americaslaststand, and we the people were not even made aware of the auction, but we are expected to pay for and clean up the mess they leave behind.

What the h*ll was the Republican caucus thinking when they put Lott back in a position of power? What an arrogant dirtbag.

Clark1 on June 21, 2007 at 2:18 PM

Trent Lott, George Bush, Olympia Snowe, the world’s biggest butthole (Arlen Spector), John McCain, Lindsey Graham, Chuck Hagel, Ted Stevens, Lincoln Chaffee….

how did we let this bunch of losers get elected? I would rather lose an election with a good candidate then win with a RINO. We’re stuck with RINOS forever, it seems. At least you know what you get with a democrat; with a RINO you are constantly and depressingly disappointed. I know all too well. I live in the State that brought forth George Pataki, John Lindsay, Nelson Rockefeller, Al D’Amato, and Michael Bloomberg.

The most beautiful voice brain in radio.

Man, I wish Levin was on one of our local AM stations…that was awesome.

Lott is such a slimeball, between amnesty, the Unfairness Doctrine, and his penchant for pork, we’ve got to make a strong effort to unseat him and the rest of the KleptoCons who are destroying the conservative movement.

Oh, I don’t know. Dennis Miller seemed to do OK with Sally Reid. That said, I rather enjoyed this…

There needs to be a new generation of Republican leadership coms forward.

Phil Byler on June 21, 2007 at 2:33 PM

Lott’s attitude toward voters who are trying to “intimidate” him on immigration.

How dare those voters have the nerve to tell him what they think on an issue, and tell him that his continued service as their elected representative depends on his compliance with their wishes? After all, election results should come as a complete surprise to those up for reelection, right?

James on June 21, 2007 at 2:39 PM

What the h*ll was the Republican caucus thinking when they put Lott back in a position of power? What an arrogant dirtbag.

They got spanked back in November and immediately went into denial.

Kensington on June 21, 2007 at 2:39 PM

Lott is now and always WAS a Democrat. He just became a Republican to get votes. He’s the Bloomberg of Mississippi… minus all the cash.

Warner Todd Huston on June 21, 2007 at 2:43 PM

I. love. Levin. (and his voice!)

IrishEi on June 21, 2007 at 2:44 PM

I tune into to The Great One solely to hear him tell callers to “Get off the phone!”

I think its great TGO is apparently a fan of the Jerky Boys.

Vincenzo on June 21, 2007 at 2:49 PM

Few so single-handedly represent the current trouble with the Republican party as does Trent Lott- he’s a big spending porker for more beholden to special interest campaign contributors and party hacks than the voters he’s “damn tired” of hearing from whom he’s supposed to represent.

He may have gotten shafted on the bogus Strom Thurmond non-scandal, but it doesn’t change the fact that he’s a tremendously bad influence on the Republican party.

Hollowpoint on June 21, 2007 at 2:58 PM

This is what I miss most when I lived in New Jersey.
Every form of conservative talk radio you can shake a stick at.
From Michael Levin, to Michael Savage, from Michael Medved to Sean Hanney from Rush Limbaugh, I’ve discovered one thing. There’s way too many Michaels in conservative talk radio. No not really. I can only get Rush out here, but it’s better than nothing, plus there’s always streaming radio.

Hey, cool! Thanks TBODog!

Bad Candy on June 21, 2007 at 3:08 PM

I love listening to the Great One. I think Bush could really have a good ole time by ditching Alberto Gonzales and nominating Levin for AG. Could you imagine the hearings on the Hill?

cmay on June 21, 2007 at 3:12 PM

I could listen to that guy all day.

jdpaz on June 21, 2007 at 3:21 PM

Absolutely LOVE Levin.

On fire, every night, scores one knockout after another.

Rushbo’s been getting a bit lazy in recent years. Savage is just all over the place.

Levin’s the perfect blend of both - the anger of Savage with the humor of Rush. And a law degree.

Poison
to the liberals.

Good Lt on June 21, 2007 at 4:04 PM

Levin is also a fantastic debater. No liberal survives a confrontation with him without limping away licking his wounds.

Also Landmark Legal is doing great work under him.

Valiant on June 21, 2007 at 4:12 PM

Lott seems to have a thing for goats.

infidel4life on June 21, 2007 at 4:35 PM

Yeah, it’s time for Lott and a bunch more to go away.

Buzzy on June 21, 2007 at 4:40 PM

The only thing missing from the discussion is Trent’s full last name: Cave-a-Lott.

steveegg on June 21, 2007 at 4:53 PM

His salute to the armed forces every night is fantastic. And he never forgets the Merchant Marines!

Vincenzo on June 21, 2007 at 5:08 PM

cmay on June 21, 2007 at 3:12 PM

yeah!

(Cue Wayne and Garth… doodle-EE-doo! doodle-ee-doo!…)

“Get away from the mic, you big dope!”
“The president can fire the DAs he wants, you big dope!”
“Kennedy, you’re a big dope, you big dope!”

He is the only guy I know of with free audio DL, and for that I buy from the advertisers on my local station. When I’m on the road, I can always listen, so I support him in appreciation.

Tim Burton on June 21, 2007 at 5:19 PM

Nice, arse kicking there Levin. Let me tip my hat to you.

Tim Burton on June 21, 2007 at 5:20 PM

Did Trent Lot compare illegal aliens to goats? That’s an outrage the Democrats should call for him to step down.

abinitioadinfinitum on June 21, 2007 at 5:28 PM

“Fairness Doctrine be dammed, you big dope!”, as the Great One might say. Levin needs more TV time, IMHO.

kevcad on June 21, 2007 at 5:44 PM

I think the only way to intimidate a Senator is with a check book or cash under the table…..

jimwesty on June 21, 2007 at 5:52 PM

Fairness Doctrine,

Wait till the 8th Circuit Judges get a hold of this issue.

Lott is an old hack…..and needs to go. Time for the GOP to clean house. The “Fairness Doctrine” violates the Constitution..and could never stand up in the Supreme Court.
It never ceases to amaze me of all the stupid comments that c spews from Lott’s mouth. He definitely suffers from foot in mouth disease.

lynnv on June 22, 2007 at 8:07 AM

Trent EMPTY Lott.

Don’t forget to check out the MarkLevinFan.com site and MarkLevinShow site, my fellow and sister commentators. Those sites compliment Michelle’s sites VERY NICELY.

The False Dervish on June 22, 2007 at 8:19 AM

I would support a Blue Dog Democrat in Mississippi in order to send Trent Lott and his hair back home.

Hilts on June 22, 2007 at 9:46 AM

As for Lott and the RINOs who side with him, it sounds like it’s time for the whole “Lott” of them to get primaried. I wish Trent Lott would call into Levin’s show just so the big dope could be given the 20-second lib clock and then told to get off the phone.

Mississippi was not a red state by any means when Trent Lott was first elected. As the demographics and politics of Memphis, TN have changed, though, and conservatives flee Shelby County, TN for neighboring Desoto County, MS, the voting characteristics of an entire state have changed. Mississippi is now far more conservative than Trent Lott. I hear that Haley Barbour is an awesome governor down there; how ’bout having him primary Trent Lott for the senate?

flutejpl on June 22, 2007 at 9:53 AM

F. Lee Levin, as Rush used to introduce him, probably wouldn’t consider the AG post. He has Meese’s chief of staff during Reagan’s second term, and has a nice gig running the Landmark Legal Foundation, aside from his radio show.

“Do my listeners a favor and never call here again, you big dope! In fact, do me a favor and never listen to this show again!.”

“Hillary Rotten Clinton, her thighness”

“Thank me very much.”

yaoohruh. I heard Lott on Hannity last week and if I could have reached thru the radio and choked that arrogant, condescending cheese-d*ick (Lott)I would have.

Sean did a great job of pushing back at the absolute bullsh*t Lott was peddling. I have never heard Sean’s voice get so stressed with a republican (small “r” my intention and Lott’s attitude).

Marc came on later that night with a great rebuttal against Lott.

We need to dump Lott and his kind.

bloviator on June 24, 2007 at 4:18 PM
