I didn’t bother clipping it when I heard about it because, after all, how funny can yet another on-air-expletive video be? Pretty funny, as it turns out. Thanks to the good folks at Beyond The News for sending it our way.
Not the first time he’s done this, by the way. Nor the second. But the third time might be the charm for his producer.
Thus is MSNBC’s new corporate motto born:

Finally, something CM and I agree on.

And THAT, my friend, is why you don’t try to argue with your director. :)
fusionaddict on June 20, 2007 at 3:01 PM
LOL… no… and that my freind is why you pay attention to the little thing called the “On the AIR” light…
Romeo13 on June 20, 2007 at 3:03 PM
Nothing to see here. Move along.
oakpack on June 20, 2007 at 3:04 PM
If you’re blue and you don’t know whom to turn to
Why don’t you watch the show where Matthews sits
Puttin’ on the sh!t
saint kansas on June 20, 2007 at 3:04 PM
His comment sums up the whole MSM….
Vanquisher on June 20, 2007 at 3:06 PM
Seems like he’s finally becoming aware…of himself.
Speakup on June 20, 2007 at 3:07 PM
MSNBC apparently doesn’t have a floor director.
Krydor on June 20, 2007 at 3:10 PM
That’s ok. All 3 MSNBC viewers won’t mind. As Triumph the Insult Comic Dog would say, “Their names are Bill, Murray, and the guy in the hospital bed, who can’t reach the remote”.
amerpundit on June 20, 2007 at 3:14 PM
Breaking: MSNBC’s Chris Matthews has voluntarily turned himself in for Tourette syndrome treatment. This is an afflictin he contends has overcome NBC. Unfortunately for Chris, his audience, and NBC at large, this syndrome is not treatable.
Entelechy on June 20, 2007 at 3:14 PM
Good job Matthews . . . that pretty well sums it up for both you and MSNBC,
rplat on June 20, 2007 at 3:15 PM
Did he just admit that he and MSNBC are responsible for excreting those 3 piles in the Senate last week?
Brat on June 20, 2007 at 3:16 PM
amerpundit,
That is quite clever!
Nevertheless, I thought that MSNBC had more than three viewers.
I thought they had at least eight viewers.

I’m a little confused, if someone can help me out. The link to Big Head DC says that he wants his producer fired. Their update says she might get fired over this incident. But, isn’t it Matthews, and not the producer, who is on his third strike here?
Or, is the argument that he was arguing with his producer when this occurred?
Sorry if I’m just not getting it. It just sounds like he wants her to take the fall for what he said.
nailinmyeye on June 20, 2007 at 3:30 PM
Oh, yes, you’re right. Ever since they’ve started to advertise on Fox News, people have been tuning in to see what the heck the pile of excrement was on their tv.
amerpundit on June 20, 2007 at 3:35 PM
At least he’s now admitting it.
RightWinged on June 20, 2007 at 3:35 PM
Ha, scenes like that will have Imus shooting up again.
At least now we know what that MS stands for in MSNBC.
Mostly Sh*t.
fogw on June 20, 2007 at 3:41 PM
Remember when Rather got caught with his hand on the Pravda the first to get the ax were the producers.

Holy Cross education $160K

Foul-mouthed sound bite of classless Kennedy groupie…Priceless

MSNBC: Reacting and putting on Sh!t. That sums up that channel, and Chrissy in particular, nicely.
TheBigOldDog on June 20, 2007 at 4:01 PM
I forced myself to watch this idiot, I’m glad I did! He Heh
abinitioadinfinitum on June 20, 2007 at 4:07 PM
lol! That is the single funniest second-length pause I’ve ever seen. You just know he knows what he did.
JinxMcHue on June 20, 2007 at 5:04 PM
He is absolutely correct. He is on and they are putting on sh*t.
Wade on June 20, 2007 at 5:21 PM
Great Motto for his Show, -and the entire channel.
profitsbeard on June 20, 2007 at 5:40 PM
Matthews, soooo Old Media. South Park already broke the s*** barrier.
naliaka on June 20, 2007 at 5:48 PM
That’s fantastic! I actually sort of respect his honesty.
aero on June 20, 2007 at 6:02 PM
Thank you Saint – this made my day (yea, slow day I know)!

I used to watch MSNBC years ago, when they had reporters like Asleigh Banfield…
Yeah, they fired her, and anyone else that actually reported NEWS (You know: “Facts”), rather than SPIN.
Does MSNBC even HAVE any reporters anymore? Or are they all political operatives on Soros’ payroll?
Jones Zemkophill on June 20, 2007 at 6:59 PM
Gee, there’s a Muppet news flash…
rmgraha on June 20, 2007 at 7:38 PM
Damn, but I enjoyed reading that! Well done, Saint. Thanks.
techno_barbarian on June 21, 2007 at 3:18 AM
Another example of No Balls getting all crazyed up because of his feeble debating skills.
lynnv on June 21, 2007 at 7:51 AM
Where is the FCC when we need them most?
That little slip (not the first one) should be worth about a $500,000 fine for msnbc.
OBX Pete on June 21, 2007 at 9:27 AM
It is on cable, which the FCC doesn’t regulate!
SSG Fuzzy on June 21, 2007 at 10:42 AM
You know, I knew that but in my hope that somebody would nail Matthews and/or the station it just slipped my mind.
Thanks for reminding me!
