An intersting claim, but I don’t recall Jesus using excessive violence and threats to force people to do what he considered “good”.

Maybe I missed the chapter, in which Jesus decided that a Dictatorship with a controlled economy while forcing people into molds of his choosing and imprisoning those who opposed was the plan of the day.

Was that the Book of R. U. F. N. Kiddin?

On a philosophical note: If an act is coerced by force, is it still a good act by the person forced to participate?

It seems some believe it’s then a good act by the person who used force to coerce others, but I’m not exactly convinced it even qualifies as “good” from the coerced, much less the coercers.

I wrote out a nice long post about that saying pretty much the same thing and giving scripture to show exactly what you just said, but the filters seem to have gotten it…..

“God helps those who help themselves”….scripture can always be used to make any point. But hearing someone like Moore claim to be a religious person sends chills up my spine. This SOB has no shame.

While I do agree overall with your comment – Moore is certainly a hypocritical disgrace – “God helps those who helps themselves” is not a bible verse. There are actually many verses that express the complete opposite; that God helps those who ask, those who are weak, humble, etc.

How do you think the libs would react if Jim Baker, or Jerry Falwell, or James Dobson said, “Jesus says [insert social cause here].” Anyone think there will be anything close to the same reaction to Mikey’s statement. Don’t answer, it’s a rhetorical question………

They’d go into hysterics, fearful that someone was going to force them to take holy communion. The difference is that Baker, Falwell and Dobson would be speaking from their hearts about things in which they believe. When people like Moore wield Jesus, they’re only doing it to con the rubes. The libs know this, so they don’t pay it any mind; after all, it’s good if it cons the rubes.

Probably started with the lobotomy and found it would not work, because the procedure requires a brain and liberals do not have a fully functioning brain.

Then they tried botox and realized it could only fill small folds.

While the liposuction was not practical, because Mr. Moore would need to live off of his own fat while in Cuba because the store shelves are empty.

He’s now invoking things that he might be better off avoiding.

Any knowledge on his charitable giving of his OWN money?

The Bible says that at a minimumwe we are to tithe, giving 10% of our income back to the Lord. Anyone think that Mikey gives to the Lord? (Lib political causes don’t count.)

Respectfully, if they are not providing you with answers and you don’t like the direction your church is heading, maybe it’s time to find a new church.

I’ve been thinking about doing just that myself lately for similar reasons.

Jesus wants you to nationalize health care

Of course Jesus wants to nationalize health care. After the mess the senate and white house shove down our throats, his sister Maria and brother Juan need to get medical care that Americans don’t want.

Reforming health care will be like securing the border. It won’t happen in the fashion that will benefit the average hard working American.

The first health care reform is to stop paying the emergency medical bills for people who shouldn’t even be in the country – and forcing the rest of us to pick up the bill through higher premiums. Only the most extreme cases should be covered for illegal aliens, and this would be paid for by a special assessment on anyone who has ever made a public case for “comprehensive immigration reform” or said the words “jobs Americans won’t do” with a straight face.

As for his Catholic stance? Why isn’t the Catholic Church (my Church) helping these people? I have seen a greater push this past year within my area, by the Diocese, to nationalize medicine, ignore immigration laws, protest the war etc…And I keep asking where is the money going? Isn’t that their job to be stewards of our gifts and to provide for the weak?

If I sue Michael Moore for $1,000,000, will he give me $5,000,000? He will if he wants to follow Jesus.
