Personnel announcement: Please welcome our new regular guest poster
posted at 10:06 pm on June 19, 2007 by Allahpundit
I’m torn. On the one hand, I’ve always been a fan. On the other hand, since when do people with real jobs get to post here?
I guess when you’ve got material like this on your resume, exceptions can be made.
He’ll be posting regularly but sporadically, as his work schedule and his blog duties at patterico.com permit. Please help make him feel at home.

Tru2my2 on June 19, 2007 at 10:08 PM
By the way, what has happened to Ian? I liked his posts. Is he just on vacation?
januarius on June 19, 2007 at 10:14 PM
No, he quit. He still pops up in the comments but he headed off to greener pastures.
Allahpundit on June 19, 2007 at 10:16 PM
Ian is focusing on studies and reviving his old blog, I think.
Hi, Patterico! I don’t know what the hell you were thinking when you signed on to put up with us numbskulls, but welcome aboard! Heh.
Bad Candy on June 19, 2007 at 10:17 PM
Ian quit?
Hey, Allah, I know a DC area blogger that wouldn’t mind applying for a Hot Air gig. Does having Ace on my reference list help or harm my prospects?
Jack M. on June 19, 2007 at 10:21 PM
Aloha a me Welina Mai, I’ve also have been a fan.
Kini on June 19, 2007 at 10:21 PM
Welcome aboard. Love his work.
JammieWearingFool on June 19, 2007 at 10:22 PM
Not sure. I don’t make the hiring decisions.
Allahpundit on June 19, 2007 at 10:24 PM
Welcome. Have always liked your stuff and hope you will continue with us with the same great stuff.
NEMETI IN SYRACUSE on June 19, 2007 at 10:25 PM
Jack M., you’re shameless, then again…. I have a new crapblog if that would up my chances for hire! Most of the Ace readers who’ve dropped by seem to like it.
Bad Candy on June 19, 2007 at 10:27 PM
Hello and welcome Patterico! I look forward to reading your posts here.
Dash on June 19, 2007 at 10:39 PM
In haste I read “Personal announcement: Please welcome our new regular poster”. What a relief that it was just my haste!!!
We’ll benefit from two great minds, AP and Patterico. For the longest time I didn’t know how the name is pronounced, until MM referred to it, in a Vent, or on TV. Now, I have her voice pronouncing the great one’s name in my ears. Happy moment on HA, indeed.
Ian, only good on you, young one, whatever you’re up to.
Entelechy on June 19, 2007 at 10:42 PM
Welcome!
TexasDan on June 19, 2007 at 10:43 PM
Good choice. Welcome aboard.
Good luck to Ian as well. I too was a fan of his.
Pam on June 19, 2007 at 10:47 PM
Welcome Patterico,
You sure you know what you signed on to?
It’s a tough crowd here, but we’re glad to have you
Chuck on June 19, 2007 at 10:49 PM
Nice addition …. Patterico has plenty of liberal scalps on his belt.
darwin on June 19, 2007 at 10:52 PM
Allah, I’m available for the gig!
stonemeister on June 19, 2007 at 10:53 PM
Welcome Patterico! So, will you be living in Michelle’s basement, too?
amerpundit on June 19, 2007 at 10:58 PM
You can stay a fan:) he’s over here. And I think he also is hammering out stories for Breitbart, could be wrong tho.
Cause Allah set the bar so friggin’ high. Okay…okay, most of the time, lol.
Spirit of 1776 on June 19, 2007 at 11:00 PM
Great news!! You are my fourth read every morning in California, the nanny state on the Left Coast of the good ole USA. But, of course, you’re a homeboy.
Welcome here.
sharinlite on June 19, 2007 at 11:00 PM
Totally sweet. Patterico is the goods.
mikeyboss on June 19, 2007 at 11:01 PM
Shame on you Michelle,
Patterico is not worthy until he posts thought provoking subject matter on robots on his site.
j/k
Welcome Patterico, I look forward to your posts.
F15Mech on June 19, 2007 at 11:13 PM
Just peeking in.
Patterico is a great addition. Congrats.
Ian on June 19, 2007 at 11:15 PM
Patterico buys the first round.
right2bright on June 19, 2007 at 11:28 PM
Patterico,
Good to see more expertise at HotAir with exceptional ability to ‘fill in the blanks’ and ‘connect the dots’.
No doubt you will fit right in with this family. Only took Allah till today to get from referring to Michelle as ‘the boss’ to this:
From MM Gets A Makeover
He’s sorta shy.
News2Use on June 19, 2007 at 11:32 PM
Welcome Patterico. I rarely comment here but will make exceptions in your case. Well-deserved.

Does having Ace on my reference list help or harm my prospects?
If you have to ask…
mesablue on June 19, 2007 at 11:54 PM
Heh, too true mesa. Oh yeah, Mesa has an Ace spinoff crapblog too! Me too! Mine’s a mee.nu.

What on earth is sock puppetry? If you do it, does hair grow on the palm of your hand?
smellthecoffee on June 20, 2007 at 12:31 AM
Welcome Patterico. Looking forward to your comments.
katieanne on June 20, 2007 at 12:31 AM
Welcome home
Ropera on June 20, 2007 at 12:40 AM
smellthecoffee, Sockpuppetry is when you post with a different name at a blog than you usually would. There are two kinds of sockpuppets, like the sockpuppets at Ace of Spades. Sockpuppets are common practice there, people post as different people, like a president or politician, media person, prominent liberal, a blogger, the subject of a post or a celeb. Its pretty much benign, and it can make things a hell of a lot of fun.
Sockpuppetry in the context of what Patterico was writing about is a more malignant form. Glenn Greenwald, who is a liberal tool, was posting under different handles to boost himself without ID’ing himself. So basically he was pretending to be his own fans/defenders/whatever, and was made a laughingstock for it. A few other people have been busted doing this too.
Bad Candy on June 20, 2007 at 12:54 AM
Well, that can only be good for the place…kind of like getting your blog pimped. I look forward to the many pearls of wisdom I expect to fall from Patterico’s lips.
Or something like that, anyway. :)
Bob's Kid on June 20, 2007 at 12:54 AM
Terrific news, terrific addition!

Welcome aboard, Patrick. Just what HA needed, another legal eagle. It’s not like you don’t lurk and comment here already. But don’t worry, this won’t stop me from checking in daily at your place.
Freelancer on June 20, 2007 at 3:48 AM
Heh, AP, I just realized the second link above was to the Greenwald/Ellers/Ellensburg/Ellison/Ryan/Wilson smackdown rant.
For anybody who hasn’t read it, PLEASE give yourself the gift of enjoying the massive hammering Patterico unloads on Greenwald for his narcissistic hypocrisy.

Welcome, Patterico. I think that you know not what you do, but it’s good to have you here nonetheless.
Physics Geek on June 20, 2007 at 8:01 AM
Patterico is great! Smart and sharp. A fantastic addition!
DPierre on June 20, 2007 at 8:06 AM
Is this even possible?
James on June 20, 2007 at 8:36 AM
Welcome!!!
Ha,Ha. Yeah, that doesn’t even make sense. I had a boss tell me once to “Work as fast as I can, as slowly as possible”
vcferlita on June 20, 2007 at 8:54 AM
Very good, welcome to the family.
mjkazee on June 20, 2007 at 8:58 AM
SWEET!
Lawrence on June 20, 2007 at 9:58 AM
I did that once when I gave my teacher a forged a letter saying I had a dentist appointment. Granted I was 12 at the time. But I would expect no less from even an adult liberal tool. If in one is an idiot, it may be necessary to generate one’s own support.
smellthecoffee on June 20, 2007 at 10:48 AM
Patterico, I have lived in Los Angeles for 7 years now and I am just learning about you. It will be nice to have a voice from the west coast who understands what it is like to be on the front line of the immigration war. I look forward to reading your work both here and on your blog.
calirighty on June 20, 2007 at 12:18 PM
Great. Now we can expect the number of posts obsessing over Glenn Greenwald to match or exceed those obsessing over Rosie O’Donnell and the joys of atheism.
Professor Blather on June 20, 2007 at 2:29 PM
Who’s Glenn Greenwald?
