Can we bring Kofi Annan back?

Dead guy not so dead after all? Ever hear of the Ballad of Finnegan’s Wake? A brawl breaks out at an Irish wake and then:

Then Mickey Maloney ducked his head
When a noggin of whiskey flew at him,
It missed, and falling on the bed
The liquor scattered over Tim!
Tim revives! See how he rises!
Tim he rises from the dead,
Says, “Whirl your whiskey around like blazes”
“Thanum an Dhul, do you thunk I’m dead?”

genocide cause by Global Warming!

So did he burst out laughing after he said that, or did he keep a straight face?

Jim Webb Fesses Up.

The gun was his. But we knew that all along.

Webb’s hairpiece was unavailable for comment.

Senator Ensign is talking in circles. You are either going to let these pro-amnesty candidates stand on their own, or you just need to admit that you will cave to the pro-amnesty senators who have name recognition, and spend money to get them re-elected. Friggen tool.

csdeven on June 18, 2007 at 9:26 AM

Also, from the article I referenced above…..a way to get some payback on these pro-amnesty senators.

csdeven on June 18, 2007 at 9:29 AM

CS, I agree with your assessment. John Ensign is trying to have his cake and eat it, too. First he says he doesn’t like the current bill, and enforcement-only bills won’t pass the Senate. But instead of using that as a huge hammer in the next election cycle, he says he wants to fix everything now.

If this bill passes, we’ll be fixed, alright.

I italicized the relevant parts of that Mirror article:

ALMOST half of men lie to partners about their looks to keep them happy even though most want the truth, a survey claims.

Yet the poll by dating website make-friendsonline.com found that 88 per cent of women claimed they wanted the truth.

You want the truth? You can’t handle the truth.

Genocide caused by global warming. Just stop right now – ladies and gentlemen, I give you the stupidest statement of the century – no, the millenium. What a total idiot!!!!

What, comment on all this lunacy going on in the world?

Oh wait, I just did.

My wife got me The Reagan Diary for Father’s Day. I’m looking forward to reading it.

What’s the deal with Ensign? We in Nevada used to be able to depend upon him to counterbalance dingy harry.

Mojave Mark on June 18, 2007 at 10:47 AM

Hey Sen. Ensign … you don’t need the votes for an enforcment first option – the laws are already on the books!!!

When I moved to LV in 1990, Harry was okay, for a dem anyway. When we voted Ensign in, we had a awesome counter. But like all senators, the minute they start getting noticed in DC, their loyalties shift to the party. I hope this is not happening to Ensign. I expected it with dingy and he didn’t disappoint. His fall was fast and hard.

I guess Ensign figures you guys will forget all about this in 2012. I’ll tell you this, if Senator Craig votes for cloture on this immigration fiasco, he wont be re-elected in 08. A year wont be long enough for us to forget this betrayal.

lan astaslem on June 18, 2007 at 11:27 AM

Yeah, I can’t get past that “Forbidden” page. Damn Apaches.

Coronagold on June 18, 2007 at 11:34 AM

A question for Michelle or HA crew: Since Michelle might be bringing comments at MM.com back from the dead, will you just carryover HA accounts?

I get an error… What’s up w/that?

lan astaslem on June 18, 2007 at 11:27 AM

Yeah, me too–I got “The Webpage cannot be found” when I clicked on the headline link a minute ago. Too much traffic, maybe?

ReubenJCogburn on June 18, 2007 at 11:51 AM

Just type in the homepage, see if that works.

Bad Candy on June 18, 2007 at 11:55 AM

Michelle’s new site is sweet. Very, very well done.

Readymade on June 18, 2007 at 12:38 PM

Yeah, the new MM site looks very nice. And carrying over Hot Air accounts would be even better!

IrishEyes on June 18, 2007 at 12:39 PM

MM’s new site is awesome. I find it new, fresh and with so much more. I love the fact that she reads the same sites I do…and you’ll probably do too.

Allah: are you an atheist? I am and I find that maybe, just maybe if everyone was an atheist this nonsense with the ideologues of the world would end…but having studied mankind, it probably won’t. Something came over the rise, Cro-Magnon, and boy what this line wrought!! My question remains, as always: why?

Bad news: Amnesty bill just a smokescreen for North American Union

Best story ever! I love that the chick who is featured got every single conspiracy group in there by the end of the story. It rocked.

I wonder when the attacks on Mitts! religion will start to backfire on the attackers to the point where people are actually engendered to Mitt! because of the attacks?

Re: Bob Woodward: Fred Thompson’s Watergate role is overhyped headline

I see Woodward has pulled out his I-am-the-final-authority-on-all-things-Watergate card!

Yeah, more proof that freddie boy has a problem with telling the truth.
