If there is a “Rape Shield Law”, then there needs to be a Rape Honesty Law, where if you knowing make a false claim of rape, you get the punishment the men would have.

I agree with you in principal Tim... however I think such a law should not just be limited to false accusations of rape: http://ihatelinux.blogspot.com/2007/06/solution-to-future-nifongs-and-mangums.html

That the race thing was even an issue is an insult to every single American.

I’m waiting for Sharpton and the rest of the race hustlers to come out and apologize. I’m not holding my breath though.

I agree with Metro.
And where are the "Duke Campus Protestors" who screamed "racism will not be tolerated on our campus" at? I also want an appology from them. The real racists!

Hahahaha, better yet, chemically castrate her. Chemical castration is considered legitimate in cases of rapists, it should be a legitimate punishment for women who intentionally falsely accuse men of rape.

How about a clitorectomy?

The Duke lacrosse players should file their defamation lawsuit now, get an enormous judgment against their false accuser, and then wait for their false accuser to try to capitalize on her newly-found fame, or else wait for her to sue Nifong. The judgment might not ever be collectable, but in this day and age I would be surprised to find the woman getting her own TV "reality" show. Call it, "Male Fraud" or something catchy like that.

The thing about the stripper is that she's hurt more than just those college kids. What she has done is far worse than what she claimed was done to her.

By lying about rape, she's made it just that much harder for every other rape victim to be taken seriously.

Here’s my take on Mangum: she is a part of a certain class–not just the lowest one, but a part of the absolute underbelly of our society that not only never aspired to reach higher than that in which she exists, but wallows in her lowliness–she will not only break laws but will take existing law and will attempt to twist “the law” to her advantage if she can.
Now for the truly dysfunctional implication of political correctness:

A White Heterosexual Anglophone Male (WHAM) who demonstrates by his behavior that he's sliding into the Underbelly, is subject to punishment that may discipline him to realize that his lifestyle won't pay off for him. It doesn't always help, but sometimes it does. Some of those boys get their minds right.

But a person who is a member of an Aggrieved Minority Group is immune from such correction, which increases the number of Underbelly members who can claim Official Victim Status.

PC taught CGM that BECAUSE she's a black woman (extra points for two Victim categories), it's OK for her to break the rules. It encouraged her to get comfortable with her destructive behavior. It isn't as blatant as the classic "Well, you really can't expect those people to behave like good white folks", but the effect is the same. I believe President Bush calls this the "soft racism of low expectations".

BTY - Luck have nothing to do with it. If you want to get into responsibility, why don’t you get your own blog again instead of posting under someone else’s protection? hm?

Because this way he's getting paid well? (That's just my guess)

It's not like Allah didn't have his own blog before.

And who's to say that AP would want those kind of comments on his own blog even if he wasn't working for Michelle.

Her children should be taken away from her based on her behavior, but Nifong's the real villian here, anyone who's spent time in bars (strip or otherwise)knows that people who decide to make a living there are often not, shall we say, stable. Nifong looked at a drug addict who couldn't remember what happened that night and decided to make a run of it because it seemed like a good way to be elected. The truth is Magnum was crazy and everyone knew it.

She once recommended the death penalty for the Phelps clan.

What’s wrong with that?

Because the death penalty is "too good" for the likes of the Phelps clan, maybe? I don't know. You tell me.

Frankly, I'd tune in just to watch Julie Banderas read names out of the phone book. And I bet Julie Banderas Reads Names Out of the Phone Book would do well in the ratings, too. Day-um. Not only is she fine, she's sharp and has fire in her too.

As for Mangum, if she's mentally competent to stand trial, she should suffer some kind of legal penalty for her patently false allegations. And if she isn't competent, she has no business having custody of children, and screwing up the lives of another generation.

I heard this live. And I was taken aback. Then I realized what she was getting at. This woman should not have kids. She is a parasite and a mental case. Go Julie. You know where the spanking hurts.

Neither Nifong nor Mangum would have gotten at all as far as they did if it weren't for the vast number of Americans who've succumbed to brainless political correctness. It's the same reason why Bush is stilled blamed for Katrina, anti-Americanism is still accepted as curriculum in our schools, Libby is going to jail, discussion about "climate change" isn't confined to mental hospitals, and Iraq is separated from the war on terror. Political correctness rules. Nifong and Mangum merely rode the wave the rest of the country set up for them.

Yes, that’s right, I’m giving Crystal Mangum a “pass” whereas you, poor baby, are being censored.

Lucky thing you have your own blog where you can make all the comments you want and Michelle won’t be held responsible for them, hm?

Allahpundit on June 17, 2007 at 8:46 PM
I suspect that the person you addressed this post stepped over the offensiveness line--one that is difficult to reach, if some of the posts which make it past the bar are any indication.

Here's my take on Mangum: she is a part of a certain class--not just the lowest one, but a part of the absolute underbelly of our society that not only never aspired to reach higher than that in which she exists, but wallows in her lowliness--she will not only break laws but will take existing law and will attempt to twist "the law" to her advantage if she can.

Most of HA's audience may not know anyone like that and, if I were inclined to give Nifong the benefit of the doubt (which I'm not), I'm betting that he doesn't either; he is merely a short-sighted semi-imbecile that thought he saw an opportunity to ensure his reelection.

Is Mangum crazy? Maybe; maybe not. Perhaps she is a part of that class to which I referred who will try to gain advantage without regard to logic or morality. If she can, she's in. If she can't, oh well.

Nifong's problem is that he knows nothing about this type of person and thought he could gain his own advantage via her crazy game.

If you ask me, he's probably more stupid than Mangum.

We've seen a few cases like this in the last few years--cases that were headline news for days at a time. There was a girl in Wisconsin or Minnesota, who was lost and then claimed she had been kidnapped (my recollection of the details is sketchy, but I'm sure people remember this one); she got charged for making false statements to the police. The buggy-eyed runaway bride gal also got in similar trouble, although as in the previous case, no one was seriously harmed as a result of her prevarications. (The jilting probably left a mark on the fiancee, but the false statements themselves were probably not the source of that particular damamge.) Unless you're Tawana Brawley, or this Mangum gal, and you have Al Sharpton as an attorney--wait--is it just me, or is there a pattern emerging here--you're going to get in trouble if you make false statements to police. Make reverse racist false statements to police, with the Sharp-one fanning the flames, and there will likely be no consequences.

If the accuser is found not competent and responsible enough to be charged with filing false charges, how in God's name could anybody find her competent enough to retain custody of children?
