Think of how much of your one and only life you waste bagging on Phlegmatic Phred. You know that you’re going to vote for him anyway if he’s the nominee. This part of the election process should be fun and informative. Why don’t you just enjoy it? We are just a few people kicking around ideas on the HA website. There will be 100,000,000 people voting in ’08. You need to keep things in perspective.

While it is clear that freddie boy is lazy, it is not clear that he is smart. And if he is smart, he is using his smarts the wrong way. He is using them to engage in being the best faker. If he’d put all that effort into actually being a candidate first, and a public servant second, he would be better served. But even if he did, he’d have to answer for his questionable behavior, and his absolute total lack of qualifications to be POTUS. And I’m not saying anything freddie boy doesn’t already understand. He knows he is completely unqualified and that is why he is staying off the debate stage and refuses tough interviews. fred? would prefer to ride these poll numbers up until the day before the nomination and then announce himself as a candidate. I know many people think this is “smart”, but the fact is that his behavior is insulting to conservative values.

There are manifold divisive forces functioning within and near the government in Teheran. Some of those forces are not anti-American. Others are strongly anti-Ahmedinejad even while being anti-Western. All of those forces have been, and are being offered support, to the end that the current regime may well fall.

If you are in a position of having to defend your regime, the moment you realize that you are on the losing side, you’ll not want those who overrun you to have your best toys, so you destroy them.

That is a contingency currently being pressed toward, and completely validates Sen. Thompson’s answer to that question.

Agree, except for me it was fun to watch. So much jealousy for someone who can accomplish so much by being “lazy”. Take the “busy” Clinton couple. On the dole from the government for almost a lifetiem, then 10-50 millions worth, after benefitting from having been on the tit of the taxpayers…he, he, ha, ha – great accomplishment! I’m sooo impressed.

Rudy/Fred or Fred/Rudi – and by a landslide. Colbert might even be among those who’ll vote for this ticket.

I was reading a recent report on campaign fund raising. freds? numbers got $200,000 in one day. Then I read a report where Mitt! raised 3.4 million in one day.

fred? sounds lazy and has a rep for being lazy and his record suggests lazy.

Colbert is a lot easier to take than the insufferably smug Jon Stewart. Because Colbert assumes the persona of a dumb guy, which adds an amusingly extra level of irony to the proceedings. Plus, he plays a conservative dumb guy, which means that the conservative point of view has to be addressed, even if it’s in a backhanded fashion. Personally, I think Colbert is a lot more balanced that that pr*ck Stewart.

So Thompson gets some free publicity which is the best kind. Colby is objective as compared to Stewart and Maher. Thompson may have scored some points here given the demographics of Colbert’s audience. I mean c’mon a lazy steak eating beer drinking work shirker. Whats not to like?
