Nifong should be jailed for what he has done. I said that here 14 months ago and I still believe it.
On a much broader point, many other DA’s are so close-minded as to believe anyone and everyone in court is guilty.
All the DA’s who backed Nifong those long months should be heard from now. Every TV channel, including Fox, had a dozen or so ‘experts’ and past DA’s yakin’ it up daily with the majority of them arguing “we don’t know YET” and/or “a DA wouldn’t do that”…they believed and acted as tho DA’s are above the law. I’d really like to hear more from them now.

Paris went to jail not for her original traffic offense, but for her total contempt of court…twice breaking probation promises. The unfairness ( it was and is fair, in comparison to other probation breakers ) has everyone screaming from somewhere. Between the Paris Cirque Du So-lame and Nifong’s unique campaign strategy, this should be an opportunity to find out why we have a legal system, but no REAL justice system. But it won’t happen.
Justice is not equally served in all too many cases, but legally? each case was ‘resolved’. Voters happy, DA’s happy, cops happy..but it is not just.

Right at the end of his direct testimony. I think he thought the Bar would say, “oh, okay, well, you can go home now,” and forget about cross examination. But no such luck for the Fong. Closing arguments, deliberation and verdict today (Saturday)
