Illegals do vote, not unless they ask for a picture ID where you vote. My county does that, but it’s not widespread in my state (GA). A reporter in Texas found out that illegals do indeed vote. He found out by way of jury duty. A lot of people had to excuse themselves from jury duty because they were here illegally. You’re only called to jury duty if you have voted.

Thanks for the tip. I think I will send all of the frontrunners in the POTUS race an email detailing my opposition to this bill. I will also remind them that it is their job to represent the will of the people not their own personal beliefs.

I would suggest contacting Presidential candidates that are also still part of the legislative branch (most notably, McCain). He’s looking for national votes.

Then, there are the state and national Republican parties. Make sure they know you’re going to hit them where it hurts, in the fundage department.

What more can I do? If I send emails to other out-of-state Senators I would assume that they will be ignored.

I will continue to send letters and emails to my Senators,2-3 a week and have encouraged my like-minded friends to do the same.

If this bill is passed, then the only thing I can think to do is buy more ammo. It can be more valuable than gold when the SHTF!

Many are threatening non-voting or voting for a third party in the next presidential election. Then, there are those who say that will hand the Presidency and Congress over to the Dems.

I don’t want that either, and up until now it HAS been an conundrum.

I don’t think it is any longer. If amnesty passes, there will be enough former illegals voting for Dems that even the most solid Republican voting block won’t come near to be enough to make any sort of a difference. So, non-voting or voting for a third party won’t deliver our government to them.

This cloture vote will. It’s all or nothing here. If we can’t stop it, then the Dems will enjoy an executive and legislative majority for decades. It’s that simple.

We’re mad at the Republican turncoats, but the DEMOCRATS are more guilty because this is Teddy Kennedy’s folly and they, as a party, fully support the invasion of illegal aliens.

But from what I have read, 3/4 of ALL Americans oppose amnesty. That means that any Senator (or Rep) who votes for it is likely to face the wrath of the voters REGARDLESS OF WHICH PARTY he or she is in.

EVERY pol who votes for it is *vulnerable* because the opposition to amnesty cuts across party lines.

Obama, one of my Senators and presidential candidate, will vote for it. Whomever the Republican nominee is, he has a ready-made “killer” issue to beat Obama over the head with, one that will resonate with the voters.

Durbin (my other Senator) is up for election in 08. In addition to calling marines and soldiers Nazi death camp guards, Gulag keepers, and killers like Pol Pot, his Republican opposition has a ready made campaign issue, assuming “Turban Durbin” isn’t knocked out in the primary.

That is assuming that the morons running the Republican party in Illinois can pull their heads out of their a$$es.

Ladies and gentlement, the Dems think they are innoculated against the backlash. But the ILLEGAL ALIENS STILL WON’T BE ALLOWED TO VOTE in 08! The Repubs think that campaign contributions from the people who hire the illegal aliens will carry them in 08, but forget that CORPORATIONS don’t vote — angry CITIZENS do.

We will get our revenge in November, 2008, if these retards approve amnesty. And I Predict that it will cut across party lines and might result in the defeat of every one who voted for it who is up for election.

Unfortunately, you’ll find that there is no provision for recalling members of Congress. The Founding Fathers left that bit out of the Constitution, apparently because it seemed too democratic.

The only way to get rid of a congress critter is by a vote of the other congress critters or if you can convince your specific critter to resign.

Minor correction: the “double cover” comment was inspired by a statement from some brainless flack at one of his offices, who kept saying that he ended up “voting against cloture”, which led me to believe that somehow a cloture vote had been forced today.

This nitwit was talking about last week, and I didn’t get it.
