My local congresscritter just happens to be one that is trustworthy on this issue, a guy named Duncan Hunter. No need to write him, he’s already on the front line for the Constitution.

Sadly, that makes my senators Babs and Di-Fi. Not much use in writing them, but I have anyway.

I pray those of you in less concretely decided locations have a more hopeful situation, I’m along for the ride.

On the presidential front, I would like to see Hunter, Tancredo, Brownback and Huckabee get together and form a pact. Decide which of them has the most public appeal, and the other three drop in behind the one, begging all of their supporters to follow suit. I believe Brownback is the weakest of the four in national recognition, any of the other three have shown themselves well in the debates, and with a coalescence of the mutual support, could make a difference in the primaries.

Washington just doesn’t get it (or simply does not care). A large majority of the American people want border security and deportation of criminals decoupled from any bill dealing with the current illegal population.

They also want to see border security and enforcement in place and working before anything else is considered. If this doesn’t happen no one is going to believe it is ever going to happen.

My rep in the House is on the right side of this argument. However, both of my Senators (from FL) are dicks. Nough said. (But we have a grassroots effort going to make absolutely certain that Martinez looses the 2010 primary)

The Republican party no longer stands for anything (neither do the Democrats for that matter). The wild spending, McCain/Fiengold, … and most recently this “comprehensive” immigration bill. The Republicans (as well as the Democrats) will sell you out in a nanosecond. They are an aristocracy, we are acceptable losses.

I live in Florida so I can relate.

I have called Martinez’ office in Orlando and D.C. I know I’m wasting my breath.

I have also called Nelson, my Democrat Senator. I probably have a better change of convincing him from a wage and entry level job point than of making a dent in Martinez’ thought.

I just call that POS Craig’s (Idaho R) office in Boise and he will not allow the bill to be filibustered and wont say how he will vote on it when it comes to a vote.

I emailed, and called both his offices and told them that me, my wife, and three of my kids will not vote for him in 08 if he votes for cloture.

Sorry guys, that’s all I can do.
