Quite true. The funny thing about the George Will piece, is that in attempting to point out the differences between Reagan and Thompson, he unintentionally crafted more of a parallel. The idea that the original Democrat attack on Reagan was that he was 99% actore and only 1% politician (or something like that, not bothering to look it up right now), and how history turned out in favor or Reagan, could be conveyed as hopeful for the same result for Thompson. Certainly not Will’s intent, therefore humorous.
