The debate is more political and scientific at this time. We are being pushed into political solutions that are dreamed up by environmentalists that have their heads up, well, you know where, as opposed to clear thinking with rational scientific evidence that is disucssed openly.

Our environment is, has been, and will always be, constantly changing. To think that we can keep a static environment is a fool’s view.

As to global warming, Quebec will soon be collecting Canada’s first carbon tax. Natural Resources Minister Claude Béchard said Wednesday he hopes the petroleum industry will pay the tax without passing on the cost to drivers when they fill up their cars at the pump.

Good luck with that.

I love our Greens. Thirty million hosers are somehow able to save the planet by cutting back when China starts a new coal mine each week. Not to mention India. And Ash. Sweet, sweet Ash.

However, Prince Charles campaign for carbon neutrality practiced by “carbon citizens” reminds me why monarchy is such a failed system of government. Thank goodness that Prince Charlie has no power, lest Britain go the way of China under Emperor Mao, who imposed his dimwitted whims on China.

For example, Mao decided China would become an industrial power by having every household smelt its own iron, kinda like Chuck wants every household to be carbon neutral. So Chinese families melted down their pots and pans and utensils to make their quota of iron to satisfy the government. Doubtless, Chuckie has a similar wacky scheme he wants to impose on the hapless Brits.

And really, Chuckles promotion of the “carbon citizen” has that creepy Soviet feel to it, the way the Russkies extolled the “New Soviet Man,” which was in turn drawn from the “citizen” of the French Revolution. All the revolutionaries think they can remake the humans into their ideal. They end up shooting the ones who don’t fit into their mold. Thank goodness the British have taken away the guns and headsman’s axe from their royalty.

“Global Cool” sounds like the green version of the Red Guards to me, full of feral destructive enthusiasm for ideas that are intellectual junk.

When someone gets around to promoting “cap and trade” to reduce the total emissions volume, ask them why they want to promote the enron business model?
