Video: Michelle on the Factor
posted at 10:49 pm on June 11, 2007 by Bryan
Tonight, Michelle and Kirsten, whose preferred presidential candidate has named an impeached judge as her national campaign co-chairman, got a full quarter of the show to talk about media bias as it relates to two stories: NBC’s Andrea Mitchell mischaracterizing the GOP presidential candidates (and all conservatives) as torture mongers; and the recent resurgence of “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” stories in the MSM. Copyright means I have to keep the edit short, so you get the highlights from the first segment. Bill yells at Kirsten, and Michelle speaks from absolute moral authority as a former NBC intern who saw media bias up close.
At the end of the segment, O’Reilly teases this Thursday’s Factor, which may end up looking like Pundit Fight Club. Michelle will go head-to-head with Fox colleague Geraldo Rivera, who smeared her as a Nazi last Friday for daring to support the enforcement of immigration law. It’ll be an interesting segment, to say the least. Geraldo speaks from the ethnocentric heart on the issue, and is too happy to lob any smear and even violate Godwin’s Law if it puts pro-enforcement forces on the defensive. Michelle speaks from the brain on the issue. She has been studying the broken immigration system for years, she wrote a book about it knows the ins and outs of immigration cold. It’ll be facts and reason vs mush and gush — conservatism vs liberalism in a nutshell — on The Factor, Thursday night.

Andrea Mitchell is typical MSM, no surprise to anyone.

During basic training, latrines and showers are open and communal. You sleeps with other people within inches of you every night. In the field, you sleep shoulder to shoulder. Anybody who thinks open homosexuality wouldn’t cause problems in that sort of environment needs a reality check.

smooth as ever. way to go michelle.
wryteacher on June 11, 2007 at 11:10 PM
Have the firetrucks standing by on Thur!
I sure hope the Bill does actually moderate between Michelle and Geraldo and does not just let the loudmouth (Geraldo) win out just with volume.
Rivera has been getting away with way too much BS, go get’m Michelle!
No more getting away with condescension and anti America spew Geraldo!
Speakup on June 11, 2007 at 11:12 PM
Errr, I didn’t see any such issue in this segment. Unless it had to do with the “subliminal” suggestion. Should Bill O vanish from the set?
laelaps on June 11, 2007 at 11:25 PM
Geraldo??? Nazis??? I just hope nobody starts throwing chairs!
Blacklake on June 11, 2007 at 11:32 PM
Michelle, you looked absolutely stunning tonight.
infidel4life on June 11, 2007 at 11:43 PM
Probably left on AP’s cutting room floor. I saw it live. KP was advocating gays be allowed to openly serve. She cited UK as a good example. I guess she missed how poorly the royal navy performed recently in the Persian Gulf. Not quite the model I’d hold up to be emulated.
TheBigOldDog on June 11, 2007 at 11:49 PM
Ha! Another fan of “Godwin’s law“…it’s the fall back of the argumentative who get so frustrated that they can’t make a point. Warms my heart.
StoutRepublican on June 11, 2007 at 11:58 PM
What’s up with KP? She used to be a voice of reason, and would call out anyone who got out of line. Now, she’s just a hack.
Are her and Geraldo dating?
BacaDog on June 11, 2007 at 11:59 PM
Ms. Michelle vs Geraldo will be for entertaining for her and educational for him. He will probably resort to the liberal tactic of just getting louder and louder and when nobody can get a word in edgewise, delcare himself the winner. They need to have a cut-out switch on Geraldo’s microphone for when he gets too obnoxious.
DAT60A3 on June 12, 2007 at 12:08 AM
I’ve always liked that idea. To keep folks like Michael Brown, Lanny Davis, Laura Schwartz, etc from filibustering, just tell ‘em they have 2 minutes to state their case – and cut their mike. Same for the rebuttal. No interruptions, no shouting, just their view and more importantly, the other view too.
BacaDog on June 12, 2007 at 12:12 AM
I saw this segment. You know, I sometimes try to defend Kirsten, but tonight, she was way off. Clearly NBC has adopted a pro-liberal position on everything political. Michelle was right-on, as usual. I can’t wait for the Thursday episode of the O’Factor. Geraldo will spill his usual heart-bleeding outcry for immigrant “rights”, and Michelle will pound him with her usual logic of enforcement, and the pitfalls of failing to enforce immigration laws already on the books, and what must be done to strengthen our immigration laws. I wait for this episode with baited breath.
thedecider on June 12, 2007 at 12:12 AM
I hope the studio custodian has a strong stomach. Whatever Michelle leaves of Geraldo ain’t gonna be pretty.
Bad Candy on June 12, 2007 at 12:14 AM
By the way, count on Geraldo to demonstrate “pettifogging” at its absolute worst.
thedecider on June 12, 2007 at 12:15 AM
Hey, if worse comes to worse, she can always hit him with a chair. He probably still has the nose cast from the last time it happened.
austinnelly on June 12, 2007 at 12:18 AM
If she gets the chance. Geraldo will shout, overtalk, belittle and use every trick he knows to keep Michelle’s point from being heard.
Hell, he may even call her a Nazi.
BacaDog on June 12, 2007 at 12:22 AM
True enough. I’ve seen Michelle up against some pretty tough opponents. She seems to hold her own just fine. Having the experience of a prior “Geraldo” segment, I bet she’s ready for the next bout.
thedecider on June 12, 2007 at 12:32 AM
Not worried about Michelle when the facts can be heard.
Our pal Geraldo will undoubtably infer she’s a racist because he’s the absoulte moral authority on Hispanic issues.
After all, Gerry Rivers is hispanic.

I LOVE this place.
Mojave Mark on June 12, 2007 at 1:14 AM
I bet Geraldo tells his Hispanic kids if they don’t go to sleep, Michelle Malkin will come and drag them out of their house and drop them off in Mexico!
Drtuddle on June 12, 2007 at 1:15 AM
You can tell Bill is having a great time talking with two such beautiful women. How does he keep his mind on the politics?
Halley on June 12, 2007 at 1:26 AM
Thank you for focus on MSM bias, it is so constant we cannot be reminded enough of what we are supposed to eat without objection.
Andrea Mitchell, another talking head not to be trusted, and to tune out.

I’ll watch for the after action report here. Geraldo is persona non grata at my house.
Connie on June 12, 2007 at 2:10 AM
Mmmm. Sausage.
You said it was coming. I knew it was coming. But cutting from Michelle to Bill yelling was harsh. It’s nice he apologized to KP.
pettifogger
1. A petty, quibbling, unscrupulous lawyer.
2. One who quibbles over trivia.
[Probably PETTY + obsolete fogger, pettifogger.]
What was the (now obsolete) meaning of fogger?
Kevin on June 12, 2007 at 2:21 AM
O’Reilly is wrong.
Mitchell is NOT an excellent reporter. She is a leftist shill and demagogue. She lies for sport like all of them. She is not a “hard core reporter,” but a “hard core libby-democrat newswhore.”
georgej on June 12, 2007 at 3:06 AM
Even on the occasional occasions that O’Reilly is right about something… He is still an @$$. Once again, he made me want to smack him upside the head.
Getting to the point that it isn’t worth listening to him for a moment, even when the payoff is seeing a beauteous Michelle.
Let me know when Michelle is hosting the whole show for him… Or better yet, replacing him permanently.
LegendHasIt on June 12, 2007 at 5:20 AM
MMMmmmm…..SAUSAGE.
MUST SEE TV THURSDAY>>>>MICHELLE’S SMACK DOWN WITH GERRY KING.
Wouldn’t miss THAT one for the world.
seejanemom on June 12, 2007 at 8:22 AM
Someone must have gotten to KP. She has become just another shrill leftist puppet.
Wade on June 12, 2007 at 8:22 AM
Mitchell is a pathetic shill, and always has been. She’s not bright or honest enough to compete on skill, but gets work on the basis of affirmative action and marrying well.
Kudos to Bill for calling it, even in the shaded tones he used.

I must be on double secret probation or something, my original “contribution” to this thread did not post.
That is okay, I was just repeating this:
TwinkietheKid on June 12, 2007 at 8:44 AM
Okay, I’ll buy that. Has it been demonstrated to be a problem yet? Are the milblogs talking about it? Any veterans speaking out? Anybody at all? Somebody give me something to hang on to here…
manwithblackhat on June 12, 2007 at 8:50 AM
Alright Michelle, I’m going to get the popcorn, sit down with a beer and watch you school Geraldo on Thursday! ;)
And as someone who spent ten years in the news business, I can tell you I was a rare breed. Liberals run amuck in newsrooms, both locally and nationally. It’s a sad, and obvious, state of affairs. Anyone who doesn’t recognize this is in denial.

Good luck on Thursday Michelle.
I did not like O’Reilly’s opening remarks last night. Now, according to Bill, we’re racists and don’t like Hispanics if we want this invasion to stop. Newsflash Bill, crossing the border may not be a felony, which it should be, but it is still illegal. Once someone comes into this country “illegally” a paper trail of lies and breaking laws begins anew.
Bill is taking this “rascism” as fact because he has a few callers saying that don’t like Hispanics. I’m sure most of these people would feel the same if this invasion was coming from Canada.
Bill Whittle has an excellent article on this called “You Are Not Alone.”
Each week we are seeing people who aren’t citizens cheat our system and our laws. They are not only breaking legal laws of this nation, but they are breaking moral laws.
I feel like I’m standing on the side of the road and watching all this chaos happen. Federal, state and local government no longer apply all rules to all people, they are choosing not to enforce laws and are protecting people who by all rights, should not even be here. As Bill Whittle says, “How much damage does it do when the very people sworn to uphold the law – uphold the rules that allow this amazing cooperation game to continue — are the ones who seem most enthusiastic to reward cheating?”
It’s about a lack of honesty, from the people who lie and abuse our system who come here illegally, to the people we entrust to enforce this nation’s laws. It’s about seeing people who morally and legally cheat to win. It’s also about betrayal. Betrayal from those of us who are honest citizens, whether we are born here or came here legally. This whole issue has turned into a complete betrayal and lack of trust.
The real problem will be what comes next when all people no longer want to follow the rules?
moonsbreath on June 12, 2007 at 10:21 AM
I can’t think of any better way to solidify the confidence in my beliefs then to look up and see that arguing the side I agree with is Michelle Malkin. Arguing the opposite side is Geraldo Rivera. At that point I don’t even need sound to know just how right I am.
Zetterson on June 12, 2007 at 10:34 AM
Ditto on your point moonsbreath. This really stuck in my craw last night. Lately Bill O’s populist shtick has been wearing thin with me, and now he’s taking to calling people on the right racists and haters.
I watch my Foxnews via tivo. Brit gets a full showing but I find with Bill O and Hannity/Colmes there is only 10-15 minutes worth of show worth watching. Fox needs to pump some life into these two shows. It’s really time for something more than a set change on H/C.

One difference – First rule of Pundit Fight Club: Always talk about Pundit Fight Club.

They’re wearing far too much clothing.
Rode Werk on June 12, 2007 at 11:40 AM
I love watching liberals try to deny MSM bias. They get that dear in the headlights look, “Bias? There’s no bias, wha, huh?” KP is drifting into that camp. And you gotta give Bill credit, he totally exposed Andrea Mitchell, when he asked her to name one conservative at NBC, and watching her squirm was priceless.
bmac on June 12, 2007 at 12:20 PM
The closer Hillary gets to election, the more distant KP will be from conservatives. KP would sell her mother into slavery to be next to Hillary on election night, and be somebody in her administration, if she wins.
right2bright on June 12, 2007 at 12:23 PM
Geraldo vs Michelle?
Now, there are points that I disagree with both Michelle and Geraldo on (which is another topic for another discussion).
But if I were Fox, I’d be selling this on Pay Per View!
Note: Perhaps its a good time I started investing in Tivo!
Exit Question: How long do you think the debate will last until either one of them starts screaming? I give it 90 seconds. What say you?
Darnell Clayton on June 12, 2007 at 1:15 PM
Let’s get ready to rumbllllllllllllllllle!
Michelle can trump Geraldo’s Hispanic card with her own Filipina (Hispanic+Asian) cards. PLEASE let him lay that hanging curve ball out there for her to knock out of the park!
The Monster on June 12, 2007 at 2:02 PM
I agree with you, Michelle, 100% on your plan to deport illegals who cause crimes immediately.
Here are a few questions that I have for you.
1: How much will this cost the U.S.A. taxpayer?
2: Where do we start?
3: How will this be enforced?
4: What if the countries refuse re-entry of their citizens that did leave?
5: Can we force these countries to accept them if they do refuse?

Godwin’s Law isn’t something you “violate”, it’s something that’s invoked or otherwise caused to come into play.
