IT’S NOT FUNNY.

Well, it’s a little funny.

Alright, Alzheimer’s is okay. But no Dementia jokes. Really.

i liked how they pushed them out the door in their wheelchairs.

This is personal with me, but I’d rather laugh than cry!

They don’t have Alzheimer’s they have CRS, Can’t Remember Sh!t

abinitioadinfinitum on June 11, 2007 at 10:22 PM

That was hysterical.
Know any good SIDS jokes to go along with this little gem of a video?

Maybe they forgot.

A friend’s 90+ grandmother had it and she would repeat the same conversation with you over and over. It was like the movie Groundhog Day. I would test different answers to her questions and see how the conversation would changed… it was interesting and freaky.

Another friend’s MIL had it and she smoked but forgot. She’d go crazy trying to figure out what it was that she did…

I laughed more in anticipation of what was to come than I did at the actual “news report.”

great concept, poor execution.

CRS … that’s funny. Dementia is CRS + TSIOTGM (That Shit Is Out To Get Me.) Make me laugh so I don’t cry.

Is this why Harry Reid and Ted Kennedy are still Senators?

Alzheimer’s at times can be funny, very frustrating and painfully sad.

Very well said.

My mother has Alzheimer’s (or rather, dementia brought about by Alzheimer’s, since Alzheimer’s can’t be confirmed without an autopsy)so I will use my Absolute Moral Authority to say…

…it was funny.

I didn’t find it offensive in the least.

My father had Alzheimer’s. Lonely is the only way to describe it. Lonely for victim and family alike. That said,
he had a great sense of humor, he would have laughed at the clip.

My grandfather passed with Alzheimer’s. I am offended. I demand you speak to people with Alzheimer’s, donate money to a charity and donate a HUGE amount to me for my emotional damage.

It was extremely hard taking my grandmother to see him and him not knowing me. At least he knew her, knew their favorite song and knew Christ as his Savior.

I have an aunt with this problem. She asks the same questions over and over. She called me at work the other day trying to figure out who I was and who’s phone numbers (written on a piece of paper) belonged to whom. I have enormous patience for her but it is very tiresome. Nevertheless, those truly afflicted with this awful disease deserve our patience. I really hope my life does not end up this way. I really want to remember all the people who mean so much to me, and why I love them.

Well, to be honest, with the daily juggle of my work, I have CRS. The cure…a very good planner :)

Damn! I was hoping for a sh*t-headed motherf**king debunking of p*ss-as*ed, c**ks*cking Tourette’s Syndrome.

Now there’s a disease with some p*ssywhipping power!

The Onion c**ts are such as*h*les!

Once you get Alzheimer’s you know longer know what it is.

Where the fun in that?

profitsbeard on June 12, 2007 at 12:14 AM

Strange disease. I had an aunt that was in her 90′s and could remember in great detail events that happened during the depression and WWII.

What she had for lunch or what her husband’s name was however were impossible.

BacaDog on June 12, 2007 at 1:01 AM

I laughed. I cried. I…forget. What was that clip about again?

Kokonut on June 12, 2007 at 4:16 AM

My mother passed away recently after suffering with Alzheimer’s for many years. No I didn’t watch the video the memory is just too fresh. It is a debillatating disease and it is absolutely unbearable for family members. I can never forget the day I was visiting her and there was no hint that she even recognized me. One of the nurses had to tell her who I was and even then there was no response of recognition. She still had all of her verbal and physical skills then. That was the second worst feeling I have ever had in my life.
Folks it is okay to laugh, just make sure that you are laughing at the right thing.
Someday I may find humor in it, but that day isn’t here yet.
