You've got my vote, 'miltary wing of the US that's not really associated with our government'. Bombs away. And don't bother hitting those bunkers 100+ft below the ground. Hit the entrances and strand them in their nuclear hellholes.

But it's important to note, Iran, that it's just our military wing that's doing this. Don't hold the US accountable! Yup, we learn from the palestinians.

Sorry for going off the topic of AP's post (readiness to bomb Iran). I was commenting on Reid's inane response to Joementum - in explaining his perspective of how the US is ill-prepared to confront Iran because of all the resources we've squandered in Iraq, he created a laundry list of ALL of Bush's Middle East failures that have been compounded by Iraq. My quote is from Reid's rambling. Sorry for the confusion.

All the more reason why we MUST have a Pubbie (a REAL one) in the Oval Office after Bush. A Lefty/Dhimmicrat would undo all the progress we've made and the enemy will bring the war to *us* (again).

We've GOT to stay on offense. Agree with Limerick, my Zoomies and our Navy buds are ready. If we don't do it, our kids will be asking us "Why didn't we stop the bad people from blowing up our cities?"

We have exspensive B-2 bombers waitin' around doin' nothing, we can even try out our shiney new F-22s. Do it now and hear the whining from a million lefty New Yorkers, or do it later and hear the whining *about* a million DEAD New Yorkers.

We know where everything is, take it out. Yes, terrorism will increase, for a while, but it's better than watching them nuke San Fran ... wait, on second thought ...

What exactly does this have to do with the price of eggs? Bombing Iran, Hamas giving up more land? How about trying not to be such an obvious apologist and squeezing the pa/Israel situation into every conversation. BTW when exactly was it that Hamas originally had land of it's own to give? Can't give what you never had to begin with.

FWIW, As much as Iran needs hitting, I just can't see anything resembling a joint Israeli/US strike. Possibly a Clinton type missile only venture, but NOT a bombing campaign. Olmert is a DEAD duck in Israel,Bush is a lame duck here, and they both want to cover their parties collective a**es for the immediate future.

USAF FTW. I'm sure we've got a plan in place for taking out just about every potential target on the face of the earth, but it's nice to float that out there every once in a while.

I have no doubt that the zoomies are ready, willing, and able. That is more then I can say about the administration and that is all that counts. Even if the military got the green light I seriously doubt the ROE would satisfy the pilots crossing the wire.

Reid’s apparent endorsement of Petraeus’s remark about how to win in Iraq

Now that there's a hint that the awakening movements may collapse, he's willing to jump on board - he can support the troops and have his failure too.

I'm not sure what to make of this after Bush authorized consultations with Iran about security matters in Iraq. What was he thinking? Now our senior military officers are behind Bush's policy of doing whatever is necessary to stop Iran from going nuclear. Independent-but-Democrat Lieberman recommends hitting Iran while Republican President Bush is "consulting" with them?

I'd like to believe Bush has gotten his nerve back, but I'm not so sure. Is anyone else out there confused?

"Because of Iraq we have totally ignored the Palestinian-Israeli situation..."

Let's just blame Bush for everything! Nevermind that the Israelis have no one to talk to because the Palestinians are too busy killing each other. But what exactly does the Majority Leader suggest that the President do: twist Olmert's arm to give the Hamas led PA to give up even more land for peace?

Iran complains to UN that Israel is threatening Iran

Iranian ambassador to UN files complaint with Security Council about comments Olmert, Mofaz made regarding military attack on Iran

Yitzhak Benhorin Published: 06.12.07, 00:15 / Israel News

WASHINGTON - Iran has filed an official complaint with the United Nations Security Council criticizing statements made by Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and Transportation Minister Shaul Mofaz regarding the possibility of a military attack on the Iranian nuclear facilities.

The letter was presented Monday evening to acting president of the Security Council, the Belgian Ambassador to the UN.

The protest came in response to statements made by Mofaz during a visit to Washington last week, heading an Israeli delegation that held strategic discussions with the US dealing mostly with the Iranian nuclear threat.

At a press conference, Mofaz responded to a reporter's question by saying that "the military option is included in all the options that are on the table…"

Nobody has ruled it out

The complaint also refers to an interview that Prime Minister Olmert gave the German publication Focus. The letter quotes Olmert as saying: "Nobody is ruling it out…It is impossible perhaps to destroy the entire nuclear program but it would be possible to damage it in such a way that it would be set back years… It would take 10 days and 1,000 Tomahawk cruise missiles."

Despite Olmert denying having made the statement and the German publication retracting the quote on its internet site, the Iranians decided to appeal to the Security Council asking it to act in response to Israel's threats and demand that Israel operate in accordance with international law and the fundamental principles of the United Nations Charter.

Following statements made by Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad about wiping Israel off the map, Israel filed a similar complaint to the Security Council and the UN secretary general.

Nobody has ruled it out

The complaint also refers to an interview that Prime Minister Olmert gave the German publication Focus. The letter quotes Olmert as saying: “Nobody is ruling it out…It is impossible perhaps to destroy the entire nuclear program but it would be possible to damage it in such a way that it would be set back years… It would take 10 days and 1,000 Tomahawk cruise missiles.”

Despite Olmert denying having made the statement and the German publication retracting the quote on its internet site, the Iranians decided to appeal to the Security Council asking it to act in response to Israel’s threats and demand that Israel operate in accordance with international law and the fundamental principles of the United Nations Charter.

Following statements made by Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad about wiping Israel off the map, Israel filed a similar complaint to the Security Council and the UN secretary general.
