What’s always fascinating about these little forays into brutality is the rationalization. No problem for the second guy: it’s in the Koran and the Koran is the Word. That’s all the rationalization you need. The first guy, a professor at Al-Azhar University, comes at it from a sociological angle. It’s all aimed at preserving family harmony, you see; that’s why beatings are only the third step. Admonishment and avoidance — designed to negate women’s sexual “weapon” — are the first two. Once you’ve exhausted those you get to start swinging because, after all, a broken nose is better than a broken home.
I’m semi-surprised that Time Out London whitewash didn’t include this as one of the many, many benefits of the Islamic takeover. Lower divorce rates? Who wouldn’t be for that? Click the images to watch.
Update: Lorien1973 makes a good point that I meant to mention myself. MEMRI’s archives are full of this stuff. Why?
actually; what’s -really- odd about this is how often its talked about on TV over there. And the discussion is always exactly the same. Do people need to be constantly reminded to beat their wives or something?

Sick bastards. What else is there to say?
Bad Candy on June 8, 2007 at 11:34 AM
And why is it we don’t just kill them all and put an end their misery?
Griz on June 8, 2007 at 11:43 AM
Because that would be genocide?
Allahpundit on June 8, 2007 at 11:45 AM
what do you tell a woman with 2 black eyes?
nothin’. you already told her twice.
lorien1973 on June 8, 2007 at 11:45 AM
‘Rebellious women’ says it all. Olberman and Matthews will be sure to headline this. Truth, justice, and ‘all that stuff’.

About 2 weeks ago I became unable to view MEMRI videos. The screen goes all green wiggle lines or pink lines. Anyone else having this problem?

What do you do when your dishwasher breaks? Get a new wife.
brak on June 8, 2007 at 11:47 AM
For some odd reason this reminds me of the song “Broken Hearts Don’t Hurt As Much As Broken Bones”
EnochCain on June 8, 2007 at 11:48 AM
what is even more amazing is that they try to justify it. The poor woman probably just forgot to bring her hubby an evening cocktail or overcooked his falafil. For this, she gets “admonished” then banned to another bedroom, and then just “pushed around a little” to bring her to her senses. And they wonder why we think they’re crazy.
pullingmyhairout on June 8, 2007 at 11:54 AM
No, they just need to be reminded not to leave marks, break bones, stab them, burn them, throw acid on them.

Wait! I thought London converting to Islam would be a good thing?
You mean, this writer is wrong?
I am shocked! Shocked that these quotes would imply that Islam is really a evil violent religion.
Why not beat them? After all, they take womanhoods second greatest gift (child-birth I would guess is ahead of sexual pleasure). The Clitoris. So hitting really isn’t that bad.
Besides, beating a wife isn’t as bad as crucifying a Christian.
And if beating doesn’t work, Islam doesn’t care if you hang a her from a crane.
Don’t even get me started on how to treat your son and daughter.
Tim Burton on June 8, 2007 at 12:04 PM
Dude, the second guy’s dishdash looks like it was made from the same material as Al Sharpton’s running suit.
James on June 8, 2007 at 12:05 PM
I think this Allah fella must have been beaten up by his mommy as a child, or had a slutty girlfriend who slept around with the other gods.
fogw on June 8, 2007 at 12:07 PM
You’re forgetting, while they can’t do that, they can circumsize them (and should!)
Tim Burton on June 8, 2007 at 12:12 PM
Psychopathic religion. The Koran does not say shove or push your wife(s) - it says beat her. Beating in my mind has a different conotation - ie - beating. Keeping the women veiled may not be so much a modesty thing as keeping the bruises from showing.
If I may be blunt Islam is a superficial beautiful looking religion with a stinking death rot at the core. The Christians are somewhat to blame for the spread of Islam because they won’t get their overweight rear ends out of the pews and mega church theaters to speak the freedom and liberty which is in Christ. Being entertained by Reverend Dynamo with all the trappings and theatrics is not helping matters any.
Gotta run- have to go to Victoria’s Burka and Hijab store to pick out a new veil for my wife.
Texas Mike on June 8, 2007 at 12:12 PM
circumsize = circumcise
Tim Burton on June 8, 2007 at 12:13 PM
So many interesting new things we can learn from these Mussulmans. Never in my life have I seen - as in the first video - such an elaborate double-sided comb-forward.
eeyore on June 8, 2007 at 12:14 PM
The only logical statement out of this is “the strength of a woman lies in her ability to seduce a man” not their only strength, but damn, it’s a good arrow to have in your quiver.
When the Arab woman begin to wake up, those men are in big trouble. The men will learn what a real Jihad is like.
right2bright on June 8, 2007 at 12:17 PM
Wow…..I haven’t heard that one in awhile.
You know if wasn’t for the no booze or BLT’s this Islam thing wouldn’t half bad. (sarcasm!)
And for a final sexist joke.
Why are women’s feet smaller than men’s?
So they can stand closer to the sink and stove.
VikingGoneWild on June 8, 2007 at 12:24 PM
Oddly enough, many of these same rules apply in the Alabama state legislature.
Blacklake on June 8, 2007 at 12:24 PM
Well, I think we should bring back the Knights of Templar and remove the problem from the entire region.
Tim Burton on June 8, 2007 at 12:34 PM
In the first guy’s clip he says,”I think we must stress that this pertains to a rebellious woman… It’s not that anybody can start beating as he sees fit.” But later in the clip he says, “The man is strong and can do whatever he wants.”
Obviously the strongest survive, and those who are rebellious…get beat. But it does seem that rebellion is in the eye of the beholder/husband.
Vanquisher on June 8, 2007 at 12:49 PM
What does the Koran say a woman should do if she has a rebellious husband? What does she get if she is martyred for jihad? It sucks to be a woman in Islam.
jdpaz on June 8, 2007 at 12:56 PM
OK to beat her
senselesserrr, back to her senses.Ya know, these women are armed I guess, having their own weapons. But we stupid westerners just don’t get it, they only beat the REBELLIOUS women. Darn rebels.
Where , WHERE IS THE OUTRAGE ???????????????????
This is beyond disgusting. It’s very hard to watch them just talk about it.
The propaganda that islam is the only religion spreading is total idiocy and absolutely more muslim lies.
Christianity is more than twice the numbers of islam at 2.6 BILLION and growing much faster than the “beating cult” of islam. There are 185,000 new Christians EACH and EVERY DAY around the world.

So…whats yer point?
safarial on June 8, 2007 at 1:29 PM
The wife said she wanted a new watch for her birthday….
I told her “I don’t think so, theres a clock on the stove”.
And you know what…..
After the swelling went down I began to see the error of my ways.
CBarker on June 8, 2007 at 1:54 PM
And genocide would be wrong, apparently.
Jaibones on June 8, 2007 at 4:05 PM
They put enough covering on their wives to hide the brutality of the beatings.
gary on June 8, 2007 at 5:43 PM
Yes.
