Video: Ferret guy speaks out

I don’t know what I was thinking when I said the ferret thing was going to backfire if the left continued trying to use it against Giuliani. Now that I’ve gotten the scoop straight from the Ferret King and his companions, “Master Linus Van Pelt” and “Princess Katie Minimitts,” I finally appreciate just how wildly off base Rudy was. Exit question: At whose insistence were the ferrets introduced here, Guthartz’s or Tucker Carlson’s?

A more realistic exit question: Why does AP watch this stuff?
Doesn’t AP’s brain hurt as much as mine after this kind of assault on the synapses?

This might have been one of the very few times I would like to have seen this guy on O’Reilly’s show and have O’Reilly rip into him about what an idiot he is.
I’ve seen Tucker go after people on his show…why was this guy afforded such respect?

Hard to talk with your hands with ferrets in ‘em.
Valiant on June 8, 2007 at 8:27 AM
Nah. You just put velcro on their nappy little h..h..heads.
BacaDog on June 8, 2007 at 8:34 AM
Good thing he’s got that safari outfit on…you never know when you’ll need to break out the tranquilizer guns on those wild ferrets.
James on June 8, 2007 at 8:47 AM
The guy doesn’t think Rudy should be allowed to run, because he doesn’t like ferrets? I wasn’t aware it was a Constitutional requirement.
I think this guy’s got an underlying agenda. I won’t be shocked if he’s a Democratic supporter. No one in a political race is a mellow guy.
amerpundit on June 8, 2007 at 9:03 AM
Hey James, who you callin’ nappy?
Dread Pirate Roberts VI on June 8, 2007 at 9:39 AM
Heh.
It’s just cruel of Carlson to put this guy on camera.
Jaibones on June 8, 2007 at 9:48 AM
Let the kooks speak. Rudy probably will see a bump over this.

People who give their animals 3 names have mental issues.
lorien1973 on June 8, 2007 at 10:16 AM
sorry, i meant to say “serious mental issues”
lorien1973 on June 8, 2007 at 10:18 AM
Didn’t.

That guy looked like Bob Ross dressed up in Steve Irwin’s clothes.

Anyone know if it’s true that Rudy has never owned a pet?
That’s actually a bit of a disconnect with the people, isn’t it? I mean, some huge percentage of the population owns or has owned pets, and most people consider it a positive. I can’t remember a president who didn’t have a pet.
Don’t get me wrong, Rudy’s one of my top candidates, and I agree with him about Ferret Guy. The dude’s a nutcase. But I wonder if he has a point about Rudy and pets in general. It certainly would not be enough to keep me from voting for Rudy if I found out that he’s a genuine animal-hater. But it actually did put me off a bit to think that it might be true. Like I said, I would still vote for Rudy (because whether or not he has a pet has no bearing on his ability and willingness to kill terrorists), but I know some people who consider their pets to be their kids, and knowing that Rudy has never owned a pet might actually change their votes.

Dude, the ferret rant was awesome! I only heard it a while ago when it got linked here. It was totally justified. Just the screencap oughta be a solid enough point.

I don’t know, Weaseldude may have some issues but those ferrets are pretty darn cute.
I wonder if ferrets can be trained to hunt other rodents. I’ve got a naked vole rat problem to resolve and I’d love to send a ferret down into a vole hole to evict the unwanted intruders.
Maybe I’ll find Weaseldude’s email address and ask him for some advice on this.

I think the point here is that Rudy has been said to have an authoritarian streak in him- maybe not as bad as King Bloomberg, but still… are ferrets such a threat to the public that government intervention is needed?
Hollowpoint on June 8, 2007 at 1:01 PM
In my experience, only narcicists give thier pets (or their children) names containing six or more syllables…

Like that commercial with ‘Mr. Barky von Schnauzer?’
James on June 8, 2007 at 1:36 PM
A Ferret Pimp! The guys pimps ferrets. See the outfit this guy wears, if that ain’t a pimp outfit…, I don’t know what!
I’m glad Rudy cleaned up 42nd street from these ferrets roaming the streets looking for treats.

Did that guy just say that Rudy showed his Root? Now that’s news.

I am sure that Rudy has a very nuanced position on Ferrets. It should be a matter of local regulation. What works in NYC (a ban on ferrets), may not be necessary in, say, THE NINTH CIRCLE OF HELL.
tommylotto on June 8, 2007 at 4:34 PM
NYC is caught up in the State legislation. Unlike New York State there isn’t a whole lot of private open green space, within the city limits. The type of species this gentleman wants to introduce into the population, of millions of people of which a large portion live in multi family dwellings is the debate. Their are many health concerns related to housing an animal which is a nocturnal woods dwelling creature. There is in effect now in NCY many laws effecting dog owners such as liability insurance, leash laws, as well as cleaning up after the animal deposits it’s waste products. I have not done the research but I would think the health department has standards and regulations about smaller pets like cats and parrots. The topic falls squarely into the realm of public saftey, whose laws are enforced by the NYPD. The fact that Gulianni didn’t own a pet as a child or that his relationship with his daughters has hit a rock road at times is not a reason to open a barrage of insults. G’Day Mate!

This is exactly why I would love to vote for Giuliani if only he’d shape up on immigration. He wasn’t even that mean or “out of control”. He was just trying to help the crazy bastard.
And to be clear, while I won’t concede that Giuliani hates animals, I would like him even more if he did.
Alex K on June 8, 2007 at 8:33 PM
The animated ferret rant is great. But if the guy wants to own some ferrets as pets I say let him own them.
Nonfactor on June 9, 2007 at 4:36 AM
Yeah, a wanna-be Steve Irwin in a concrete jungle…this guy needs to get a life and some psych help. While ferrets are cool, playful, and “cute” they’re still rodents and there are (as another poster pointed out) health and safety issues to be considered when you are dealing with animals of any kind, and especially when dealing with the rodent variety.
This guy should move to Berkeley Cal, he’d fit right in and he’d have easy access to “medicinal” marijuana, although that may not be such a good idea as he’s obviously done enough pot, the guy is BAKED!
