Whatever, Pablo… My point all along is that in the absence of overwhelming information to the contrary, I will trust the judge and jury who sat through the entire case every time. Doubtless you and I agree on many other areas so the fact that we’re not going to on this one just isn’t that important to me.

Even the presidential candidate John Edwards found himself drawn into the debate. When asked about Ms. Hilton’s release on Thursday he said, “Without regard to Paris Hilton, we have two Americas and I think what’s important is, it’s obvious that the problem exists.”

What a joker! What “America” does he think he belongs to?

I was surprised at work yesterday; a couple of women I work with were actually saying they thought her punishment was too harsh and were feeling sympathetic. They were saying no one else would get that kind of punishment.

Actually, she should be celebrating. She gets all this free publicity.

As for Ms. Hilton, it is really odd how SHE is being made an example of and no other celebrity ever is. I’m not defending her….I’m just sayin’!

Not really. I haven’t heard of many other celebrity miscreants completely ignoring all of the conditions of their plea deals.

Miss Hilton recieved leniency when she made her plea bargain. She pled guilty and accepted certain punshments and education in exchage for leniency and saving the Court the time and trouble of a trial. She then turned around and rejected that leniency by refusing to accept any punishment at all. She did not attend the alcohol awareness classes(they’re icky!), she did not perform community service(unless you count servicing every male in the community) and she ignored her suspended drivers licence (as well as the speed limit and the headlight switch). I’d max out the sentence to my own dad if he behaved this way.

I’ve only agreed with Paris Hilton on one other occasion, but today I think she was right. Personally, I couldn’t care less about her. I don’t like her and think she deserves whatever she gets. A month in jail? Fine…

Chivalry is dead guys. Wake up. The worst has been watching some of my friends getting reamed in divorce. She has a restraining order out against him so she can have a moving truck clear out their home without interference and he still thinks he can send Pudding a dozen roses and make it all better. Dude, she was screwing the neighbor’s 19 year old son.

Sorry, had to vent. Paris is a vacuous waste of time. She will be a footnote in some future societies Rise and Decline of the American Republic.

It’s sad, because there is such a wasted opportunity here to present some real issues, instead of the gloating because a rich person is going to jail. I mean, I haven’t seen anyone really adressing the lax enforcement of DUIs, the overcrowded prisons and jails, the effect of illegals on the overcrowding problem… instead we read articles where inmates are the heroes, because they are just ohh soo much tougher than Paris Hilton…. what a load of crap.

Well, yeah, kind of. The urge to protect an hysterical woman crying out for her mother is pretty primal. But still, in spite of the pity I feel for her (which is separate and distinct from the contempt I also hold her in), I have not advocated leniency.

What separates me from a liberal is that just because I’m suffering from a stupid bleeding heart about this, I don’t think my squishiness should be validated by giving her a break. I recognize that logic and reason are more important and better for everyone involved.

A major coup of We The People against our misguided politicians in government on the Shamnesty bill was achieved. NASA sent up the first shuttle since being grounded. Scooter Libby, a patriot dedicated to the good of this country is going to jail.

And Paris Hilton, a multi addicted tramp who represents the state of too much of our current generation of teenagers, gets 95% of the media coverage. What does this say about our the ability of our country to focus on what is important.

Sarcastically (maybe not), I think Paris is a democratic plant who is part of leftist media special ops forces being paid to divert attention with critical national matters are happening that could shape the country for good.

I don’t believe it’s a coincidence that this bout of Parismania occurred at the same time that the image of our Divine Mrs M was removed from its exalted front-and-center position. Clearly this is a case of withdraw pains. I’d rather look at MM any day.
