Video: Juan Williams accuses immigrant of being anti-immigrant
posted at 9:51 pm on June 7, 2007 by Allahpundit
To celebrate the (temporary?) demise of shamnesty, here’s open-borders shill Juan Williams tearing a page from the Bush/Chavez/Chertoff songbook and serenading Mark Steyn with a little quasi-racial demagoguery. He should have at least followed out his own logic, taken it the whole nine yards, and accused him of being a “self-hating immigrant.”
Exit question for Colmes and Williams: Hey, terrorists wouldn’t really try to exploit our abysmal immigration system, would they?

Blowback

So they’re hiring at the camps, right?

Hah I saw this a little bit ago. Juan isn’t a fan of Sharpton but he’s using his tactics in this debate.
V15J on June 7, 2007 at 9:58 PM
This is definetely one funny situation if the people watching this have brains
Defector01 on June 7, 2007 at 10:00 PM
I saw this too. I wish that Alan had shut long enough for the brilliant Mark Steyn to talk.
How about this line from Juan?:
The people who are going to block this bill don’t care about America.
Balderdash.

Hypothetically……….if I were in a bar and I saw someone getting ready to punch Alan Colmes in the face…….I would do nothing to stop it. Hypothetically of course.

If you don’t have anything substantive scream like a little child and bang the table.
Liberal panty wedgey’s, always fun.
Speakup on June 7, 2007 at 10:12 PM
Colmes: “Yeah, you got in, so maybe that [legal immigration] is a problem…”
Alan and Juan: too stupid for further consideration.
Jaibones on June 7, 2007 at 10:12 PM
Calling an immigrant an anti-immigrant. That’s Juan nonsensical argument.
Kini on June 7, 2007 at 10:13 PM
Juan Williams was overmatched by Steyn. It seemed his arguments were so weak that Styen hardly even bothered to refute them. I mean, what kind of argument is that the way to solve crime is to define it into being a noncrime and then offering the ex-criminals the most precious gift, i.e., American citiezenship at a pittance with the right to bring all your relatives as well? Colmes seemed so upset that he constantly yelled over Steyn when the latter responded to his pathetic justifications for the bill.
All in all, not a good day for El Presidente Jorge Arbusto and the anti-borders elite establishment.

Well, it’s good to know that I wasn’t the only one shouting “shut up, Alan!” at the TV while watching that
baldilocks on June 7, 2007 at 10:16 PM
Compared to Steyn, Williams is an intellectual lightweight and should never have challenged him. Not to mention the fact that his responses were nonsensical, shallow and derived from desperation.
rplat on June 7, 2007 at 10:17 PM
Not Video: I accuse Juan Williams of being a tremendous douche.
RightWinged on June 7, 2007 at 10:20 PM
Of course not. Adnan Al-Shukrijumah swore on a stack of “Protocols…” that that wasn’t the case.
Kid from Brooklyn on June 7, 2007 at 10:20 PM
Juan seems downright sensible…ONCE in a while (and his book about the lack of leadership in the Black community was well done) but man he goes fruitloop sometimes.
Spassvogel on June 7, 2007 at 10:30 PM
Also, I bristled when both Colmes and Williams tried to shout Steyn down when Steyn brought up non-Mexican illegal alien terrorists such as Beltway Sniper Lee Malvo (forgot about him). “They have nothing to do with this!!!” As if saying it loud enough to drown out Steyn’s argument would make it true.
baldilocks on June 7, 2007 at 10:31 PM
Exactly.

For the terrorists.

And, as recently pointed out by Kathie Griffin, Condi is anti-woman.
Axe on June 7, 2007 at 10:34 PM
I was trying to figure that one out, baldilocks.
Steyn says “What about these illegal immigrants?”
Colmes says “Those don’t count! We’re talking about ILLEGAL immigrants”
Steyn says “Ok, well, what about these illegal immigrants?”
Colmes says “Those aren’t illegal immigrants, they are illegal immigrants! Talk about illegal immigrants, not illegal immigrants!”
duck says “wha…?”

*Kathy. Sorry :) My sister spells it Kathie.
Axe on June 7, 2007 at 10:35 PM
Baldilocks,
Yes, that one had me “bristling” too.
They (Libs) do that all the time – shout out the opposition so they can’t get a word in edgewise. It’s got to be in a play book somewhere.

Alan Colmes is a putz. All he did was “tell” Mark Steyn what Mark Steyn was thinking. So I guess Alan is a mind reading putz as well.
I can’t believe Hannity or his guests don’t rip Alan’s weak arguments and appalling bad logic to shreds more often.
Montana on June 7, 2007 at 10:39 PM
Since this is clearly “Bash Alan Colmes night” another thing that “bristles” is the way he comes into most conversations in the first place.
Usually Hannity will be talking to a guest and all of a sudden in pops Alan with his staged talking points. I can imagine him hiding under people’s beds just waiting to pounce.
I’m assuming that a producer is yelling in his ear to “jump in now” but he always seems to interrupt people mid sentence when the most important point is being made.

Juan Williams shoots the left wing Koolaid between his toes, thats why you don’t see tracks on his arms.
abinitioadinfinitum on June 7, 2007 at 10:49 PM
I can not believe he said that and yet questions the motives of anyone against the bill. He expects to be take seriously as a commentator???

Enforce the laws. how hard is that to inderstand, Juan?

Is it just me or do democrats all call each other and learn new words?
It reminds me of Sesame Street:

I can’t watch these things either. Alan Colmes argues like a drunk high-schooler.
Griz on June 7, 2007 at 11:48 PM
Apparently, Steyn is not an “authentic” immigrant.
Blacklake on June 7, 2007 at 11:48 PM
I would like to see Colmes explain how the Ft. Dix six would have been able to do squat in this country if our immigration laws had been enforced the last four decades.
But they don’t count because they came as kids twenty years ago.
Speakup on June 8, 2007 at 12:22 AM
HEHEHEHE…LMAO…my fantasy exactly…hypothetically speaking of course! The ideas and words that come from his mind and out of his mouth are so disturbing to me that sometimes I find myself yelling at him through the TV…and while doing so makes me feel better it scares my girlfirend and makes her question my sanity. Colmes is the epitome of a “Captain Milktoast wussie” and he will be one of the first people to surrender to our enemies and shipped to the Islamo-fascist concentration camps! Colmes the girly-man needs to grow some clankers! Pathetic!!!!
Liberty or Death on June 8, 2007 at 12:35 AM
Another point, Alan and Juan’s argument of saying it’s not fair to connect 9-11 and illegal immigration is just further proof of just how much the liberal-morons and open border idiots are off their rockers!
First of all it is absurd to argue that illegal immigration can only be called illegal if the immigrant crossed the southern border! If I’m not mistaken we have a border that emcompasses our entire nation, therefore it is only logical to conclude that it doesn’t matter if an immigrant crossed our border in a boat, a plane, in a car, or on foot, if they enter our borders and they don’t do so legally, they are illegal immigrants, regardless if they came by air, land, or sea!
Also, if you come into our country on a Visa and overstay your Visa you are defacto an ILLEGAL IMMIGRANT! Again, just goes to prove how absurd and moronic their logic is…it’s right up there with Tokyo-Rosie’s and the rest of the moonbats!
Liberty or Death on June 8, 2007 at 12:51 AM
President Governator?
Nah…I’ll vote for Steyn first.
RedCrow on June 8, 2007 at 12:59 AM
Regardless of the partison politics of it all, the mindset of anyone, left or right, who compulsively disregards the need to have borders enforced (do they compulsively disregard the security of their own homes?) is truly astounding and, to me, unfathomable. I try to dig down and excavate the psychology of it, in a Freudian kind of way I guess, but it is too inexplicable.
Halley on June 8, 2007 at 1:08 AM
I can’t stand these shouting/interrupting matches. They raise my blood pressure and cause me to loose faith in humankind in general. You can’t follow the conversation much less think much. I think the above poster is right, the shouting/interrupting strategy seems to be in the democratic playbook somewhere. I don’t know how to fight it except to have a network that pulls the plug on those that use it for “unprofessional conduct”. Nothing gets accomplished.
Regarding Colmes. I would like to know the history of the planning board at FoxNews when they were writing the job description of the liberal side of the Hannity and Colmes team. He can’t really be that stupid. Sometimes I think he’s probably a paid actor that is just paid to say stupid things (that he doesn’t really beleive) — kind of like the equivalent of a WWF wrestler. The only reason I think hes serious is the millions of similar deranged thinkers that seem to exist in this country.
CountryDoc on June 8, 2007 at 2:05 AM
Fort Dix has nothing to do with Illegal Immigration. They just overstayed their Visa dates according to Colmes…
Who apparently needs the definition of illegal immigrant, and the laws of overstaying a Visa explained to him. Maybe if he realized that this is one of the ways…
Aw, who am I kidding. Like factual information would be of any value to him. Might as well give a fish a bicycle.

Compared to Steyn, [insert name here] is an intellectual lightweight.
Especially Juan Williams.
I love to meet Mark Steyn, but I’d wear a radiation suit to protect myself from his brain waves.
saint kansas on June 8, 2007 at 4:59 AM
Good…I’d hate to get into a…hypothetical…scuffle with you. Now I’d just need to be quicker on the hypothetical draw than Liberty or Death. (And, Liberty, it’s Caspar Milquetoast, BTW…which means you and I are even more alike because that’s who I always think of too, when I see Colmes and his stuffed shoulder pads.)
James on June 8, 2007 at 7:45 AM
Just read Mark Steyns book “America Alone”. It should be on every Americans reading list.
ctmom on June 8, 2007 at 7:59 AM
Mark Steyn is HAWT HAWT HAWT…..
…..I’m sorry,,,,,,,what was he saying??????????
His HAWTNESS is PURELY intellectual (the accent doesn’t hurt) because Jane is not into beards…or blondish hairy men…(and VERY INTO HUNKY HUSBAND) but MARK SOOOOooooOOoo gets this immigration thing. Reading his book was like BRAIN PORN.
seejanemom on June 8, 2007 at 8:24 AM
Of course, by “anti-immigrant,” Williams actually meant “you hate all dark-skinned people.” Clearly, since Steyn is white (and showed up legally), he’s not a “real” immigrant.
morganfrost on June 8, 2007 at 8:34 AM
I agree. Mark Steyn is HOT! And America Alone IS a must read.
He is such a great combination of brains and brawn, and what a contrast to Colmsy. It provides a great symbolic image of the difference between the Right and the Left.

Did that segment run too long or did somebody spout some profanity and they cut it short?
Juan and Alan are total idiots.

And Justice Thomas is not black. And when the sun goes down, and the stars come out, it’s not night–ok, it’s “night,” but only in a provisional, socially constructed sense.

Last I heard several of the Fort Dix men actually ~did~ come across the border illegally. Or has that been updated now?

I loved that. I hope you know I’m going liberate that for myself.
Viking said, “Huh?” on that as well. I can not stand Colmes. Thank God for guns, beer and the mute button.
