The Wall Street Journal editorial board thinks conservatives who oppose the immigration bill are either xenophobes or bigots. Michelle engages in guerilla gorilla warfare to prove them wrong.

So when does the Wall Street Journal start publishing in Spanish?

FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!!
A VENT!!!!!!
I was going into withdrawals. Thanks for the hit…
seejanemom on June 7, 2007 at 8:06 AM
ROFLMAO!
Grunt grunt grunt.
Classic vent. My pick for next years vent of the year.
Well, they did let their token culturally diverse guy get a word in edgewise.
csdeven on June 7, 2007 at 8:07 AM
Best VENT ever! I love how even though Michelle is a beautiful, sophisticated woman, she can still put on a gorilla head and laugh at herself. Rush is right, no wonder the Left is jealous of our women!
ctmom on June 7, 2007 at 8:12 AM
Right at the beginning, when Mr. Cream Cheesehead Editor spits the word, “The RIGHT”, he uses HIS LEFT HAND….COINCIDENCE????????
I guess his trust fund baby won’t have to deal with the impoverished school districts and crime in Manhattan. The video looks like a SATIRE of WHITE FRAT BOYS in a circle jerk.
THE BLOOPERS ARE PRICELESS, Michelle…..PRICELESS.
seejanemom on June 7, 2007 at 8:13 AM
That’s uhh… that’s quite a monkey head you got there lol. Nice grunting! Oh and I agree with the comments too
Dash on June 7, 2007 at 8:14 AM
Isn’t it funny how the WSJ “conservatives” are exactly what people swore conservatives were not? A coterie of rich old white guys willing to sell America up the river for corporate interests. They’ve become the parody of themselves.
Lehosh on June 7, 2007 at 8:17 AM
This is the same WSJ that said that rumors of the Titanic sinking were false and that everybody was safe.
Titanic…..WSJ…..hmmmm……

grunt, grunt
I am proposing a new D-Day= Deportation Day

That was Great!
Bring on the WSJ.
BobH on June 7, 2007 at 8:35 AM
They already do. Viva la frontera abierta!!!!!
Kid from Brooklyn on June 7, 2007 at 8:50 AM
Thanks Michelle, I needed that. Loved the outtakes too. My subscription to the WSJ has just came up for renewal and they’re not getting another cent from me. Since I believe in the free market a lot of what has been going on, illegal immigration mess, outsourcing jobs etc, has bothered me quite a bit. I have come to the conclusion that what we are going through is the free market run amok. Pushed to the point where business has somehow been allowed to run our government and break our laws to the detriment of both our nation and its citizens. Maybe it is time for a hard lesson to be taught to those who have forgotten who comes first, this nations citizens or business.
Buzzy on June 7, 2007 at 8:50 AM
One of the funniest I’ve seen in a long time. I’m so glad you can have fun with this while at the same time doing something important!
ballz2wallz on June 7, 2007 at 9:06 AM
One request, Michelle: Please don’t wear the Rosie O’Donnell mask again.
rmgraha on June 7, 2007 at 9:06 AM
Maybe the worst thing the WSJ could have done: opened the doors for all of us to see.
Expecting an honest exchange of ideas? Impassioned debate? Nope, you have a bunch of effete pseudo intellectuals pontificating for the camera. Sad. I wonder if they took off the make-up or wore it all day?
Malpaso on June 7, 2007 at 9:16 AM
You know what else wasn’t mentioned by them? The economics.
The WSJ is a institution that can ferret out the economic impact of cows farting in the breeze but somehow they fail to mention the economic impact of this bill.
That’s how you know they were being completely intellectually dishonest.
TheBigOldDog on June 7, 2007 at 9:17 AM
Ditto and ABOUT TIME THERE’S A VENT! Hey guys the headlines are nice, but I can get them anywhere! BRING BACK THE VENTS.
Dread Pirate Roberts VI on June 7, 2007 at 9:23 AM
Our elected officials refuse to address the security deficits created by our national open borders. I finally enrolled in a CCW certification class. I’ll be spending this weekend learning to do a job those Americans won’t do - protect my family and myself from those who, given the opportunity, would do us harm.
Buck Turgidson on June 7, 2007 at 9:31 AM
“It’s worse than I thought! We must vaccinate the populace against cognitive-dissonant thought. Quickly! Distribute that serum and cancel my subscritption to the WSJ”!

EXCELLENT Vent today! I know the goofs at the WSJ won’t condescend to our level to actually watch it, but they should.

Great Vent! Thanks Michelle. The video of the WSJ Eds was sickening the first time I saw it - now it makes me angry.

Great Vent!

My subscription to the WSJ has just came up for renewal and they’re not getting another cent from me
My subscription came up for renewal last Dec. I did not renew but I still get the paper delivered to my driveway every day. It has actually gotten kind of funny. How much longer will the WSJ send me a free paper?
Babs on June 7, 2007 at 10:13 AM
weren’t the 9/11 hijackers here on student visas? That’s not really an illegal immigration issue; is it?
there are viable complaints to this; but invoking 9/11 in that sense, just doesn’t work.
lorien1973 on June 7, 2007 at 10:14 AM
Awesome work and a great Vent.
Those WSJ hacks have a lot to lose. Who is going to clean their houses, do their laundry, nanny their children and care for their landscaping for 5 bucks an hour? Oh noes!
If Rupert Murdoch get the WSJ, maybe they’ll go back to just doing the news… without opining their elitist drivel.
SilverStar830 on June 7, 2007 at 10:18 AM
Middle-age, Politically Correct, Euro-Americans Elitist - go figure. Geez, who else wants to sell out our country for short term profit?
Wuptdo on June 7, 2007 at 10:20 AM
Thanks for the laugh guys. I needed that after watching the WSJ meeting, which, if viewed through the prism of this vent, should be called Douches in the Mist. Or, Douches in our Midst. May have to think about that. Thanks for the outtakes…I knew there had to be some good ones.
Nicely said. Elitist jerks.
austinnelly on June 7, 2007 at 10:24 AM
That was great. Hope WSJ sees it.
tdau1997 on June 7, 2007 at 10:27 AM
That gave me a boost today. I was running low on my Vent meter! It was interesting to see how liberal elitist think alike.
Drtuddle on June 7, 2007 at 10:31 AM
At least the WSJ will now be against opening the border for conservative gorillas.
Halley on June 7, 2007 at 10:35 AM
Nice!
Boy oh boy did these guys look disconnected in the ivory tower. Could they be anymore clueless? Have they seen any of the numbers? Social security is ready to collapse now. What happens if we pile another 20 million bodies onto SS that have not been paying into the system for years? Like a jet hitting a large building it will collapse (a little shot for the truthers in the house). They want arguments….MM made plenty but how about education, social security, health care and food stamps. How about my lack of faith the gov’t will actually enforce any of the “new” stipulations re: employer fines and securing the border? They’ve had 21 years to secure the border and it hasn’t happened yet so what makes me believe them now? Oh because they mean it this time? Hogwash!
Of course when the WSJ “elite” drive/ride home tonight they will arrive at their plush gated suburban community with a walled estate to live in. HMMMM…..I guess walls and gates can work.

In an unusual alliance, it will be jointly announced by The Wall Street Journal, CNN and Washington Post.

Thanks for telling it like it is Michelle. Those WSJ editors were so self righteous in their own minds at least and they practically oozed smugness.
Yakko77 on June 7, 2007 at 10:57 AM
That was great!
To the WSJ guys, it’s about the “LAW” stupid!
You don’t reward people, with this country’s most precious gift of citizenship, who break our LAWS. Period.

I wonder if the oh-so-compassionate Left will remember this little ditty the next time they accuse us of all thinking alike (which will come in 3, 2, 1…).
I guess I now have to add “Gorilla” to the list of things I am (John Doe, Spartacus, vast right-wing conspirator).

emmaline1138 on June 7, 2007 at 11:32 AM
According to this site:
http://www.cis.org/articles/2003/back603.html
Only 3 were on expired visas. The others weren’t, though.
I agree that the immigration bill isn’t necessary and that enforcing existing law would be far more helpful, but an honest debate on both sides is what I’m lookin for.
lorien1973 on June 7, 2007 at 11:35 AM
Michelle, really brilliant use of absurdity to illustrate the absurd.
Is Grey Tribesman on your list?
RushBaby on June 7, 2007 at 11:46 AM
‘Tis why I said, “If memory serves,” lorien. Add to that two more who should have been denied entry, and that’s 5 of the 19 that shouldn’t have been here. It may or may not have put a crimp in their plans.
Doriangrey, you might want to take a look at what lorien provided.
steveegg on June 7, 2007 at 11:46 AM
I hadn’t seen that particular post from there before, though I did add that site a month back (blame my slow method of adding blogs to my feed reader/blogroll). Thanks for pointing me to the post.

I notice that since the headlines feature, the Vents, when they come, are not being stored in the Vault under “Vents”. Will we have to now search “Top Picks” instead for Vents?
Great Vent Today. I too was having withdrawals.

You are welcome, steveegg. It is a blisteringly beautiful essay that I recommend to all my friends here on Hot Air.

Random Numbers (Brian Epps) on June 7, 2007 at 12:01 PM
Spectacular Vent Michelle! (Finally, I too was going into withdrawl).
Michelle’s points are so right on and her observations so keen.
The Wall Street Journal Editorial Board may cange completly if Murdoch gets his way. It will give me great pleasure to see many of those Ferengi/Liberals gone, and I hope the door hits them on the ass on the way out.
omegaram on June 7, 2007 at 12:06 PM
Yes, FINALLY, another video with Michelle on it! Praise the Lord and pass the Constitution!
As always, Michelle, you are so RIGHT ON TARGET!
Yes, the arrogance of the Wall SH*T Journal is quite well displayed in the “Echo Chamber” session. For them, like too many others in the media, THE CONSTITUION IS CLEARLY IN THE WAY. Except for the non-white person, those guys are WHITER THAN I AM, and I sincerely doubt if they live in a neighbor hood that has illegal aliens roaming about, no, they dont seem too worried about MS-13.
Indeed, for the Editors of the Journal, the best way to deal with reality is to IGNORE reality.
Well, next to the NY SLIMES, the Wall Sh*t Journal is my second choice for emergency toilet paper. And I will never purchase the Journal again.
AND ONCE AGAIN, THE MSM SIMPLY CANNOT UNDERSTAND WHY WE FAVOR MICHELLE OVER THEM WHEN IT COMES TO NEWS, INFORMATION, AND THE SURVIVAL OF OUR NATION.
Great job, as always, Michelle! And, as always…A LOT OF FUN!
The False Dervish on June 7, 2007 at 12:20 PM
Was that the WSJ Editorial board or the KKK?
All they needed were the white sheets. Everyone around the table were old white men and the token women and token black were delegated to off-table ‘observer’ status.
Also looks like 12 angry white men who agree on everything (so 11 of them aren’t needed and should be fired).
And yes its an excellent vent Michelle. Love the gorilla head - and I thought I had to shave!
CrazyFool on June 7, 2007 at 12:23 PM
Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!!!
This was an excellent Vent, and very timely, particularly since there is not just debate over the immigration bill and the broader ideas that extend from that, but there is a debate over the debate itself.
Michelle and Bryan, you have done the conservative base PROUD on this Vent, restating the same arguments that we’ve been stating for years to no avail, and in the process you’ve made an ass out of all of those who would charcterize us as foaming-at-the-mouth xenophobic racists who hate brown people and don’t want to do what’s right for America.
This was simply HotAir and Vent at its very best. Well done, and thanks again.

jummy on June 7, 2007 at 12:46 PM
A very well done vent. Watching the WSJ clips really gets my hackles up. I’ll never watch Gigot’s show on Fox again, and since I don’t read the WSJ I guess I’ll not start now.
Nice laugh MM. I was expecting a hearty snort to finish it off. No luck.

Way to go Michelle! Keep the heat on ‘em
What happened to the debate between the WSJ elites and NR?
Bloodhound on June 7, 2007 at 1:23 PM
As other people have pointed out, 3 were expired visas & at least 2 should not have received visas.
Was 9/11 perpetrated by people sneaking across the borders? No. However, there is a definite casual attitude towards our borders by our elected officials (as evidenced by the amnesty bill) that is endangering America. I think that may have been Michelle’s point.
Of the Fort Dix 6, 3 of them (if I recall correctly) had come in the country illegally over the Southern border. They had been stopped by law enforcement multiple times, but, even though their illegal status was known, nothing was ever done because they were in a sanctuary city.
Their was a terrorist (Millennium Bomber, I think) that was caught as he came over the Canadian border. If we were not screening that border, he might have been able to carry out his plot.
Hezbollah & Al Qaeda are both known to be training operatives to speak Spanish and blend in with people from Latin American countries (specifically, Venezuela, since Chavez is helping them) in order to get in the country by crossing the border (without raising anyone’s suspicions because, of course, these are ALL just people trying to make a living).
So, while September 11th itself may not have been a direct result of a lax/open Southern border, the threat of terrorism (symbolized, for most people, by 9/11) is definitely heightened by a lack of security at the borders.
JadeNYU on June 7, 2007 at 1:24 PM
WSJ said that they had offered to debate NR 2 weeks before the NR challenge. According to the WSJ, the guys from NR canceled at the last minute. Then, 2 weeks later, the NR guys ‘threw down the challenge’.
Now, the WSJ guys are saying that they aren’t interested in participating in a debate that is nothing more than an NR publicity stunt. Not sure what is true or not in their side of the story…

ChrisIansNana on June 7, 2007 at 1:39 PM
That’s more of my point, though. Invoking 9/11 as an immigration issue doesn’t work. Highlighting 9/11 as the inability of government to enforce the laws and remove people efficiently. Now, that works.
But again, they are separate but related.
lorien1973 on June 7, 2007 at 1:46 PM

What a contrast between a bunch of inside-the-beltway bubble-world types who take themselves far too seriously, and Michelle’s “Gorilla Warfare.”
Final score: Michelle 1, WSJ Editorial Board 0.
Sometimes, the most effective rebuttal is simply to point and laugh, which I did a lot of watching this Vent. But it was nicely blended with cogent arguments as well.

How do I say this to the WSJ folks in a sophisticated and calm manner.
LIARS!
As I said earlier on another thread, I am growing a bit tired of ideologues making the tangential leap from wanting our borders controlled to xenophobia and racism. That is as intellectually bereft as it is fallacious.
I happen to be both for increased legal immigration (shocking WSJ - I am for increased LEGAL immigration), and (perhaps more importantly) expediting of the bureaucratic maze.
Although I very much consider myself a man of the middle, I really don’t care if they pin me on the right - because after the volumes of reports, statistics, and projections, I think I am - right that is.
Whether it is 12-20 million Mexicans, Ukrainians, Estonians (if there were so many) - that is too many, and they need to come here in a legal and controlled fashion.
My daughter-in-law just became a citizen before being married. Brazil. Her wonderful family spent years jumping through hoops to receive permission to be here. They did it lawfully.
Let’s make it simple for those that know only the leftist, or in this case corporate mantra: Me like immigration. Good! Me not like limitless illegal immigration. Bad!
