If the Pinckos gave money to AQ then they should be up on serious charges.

Cutting off Fed. money to sanctuary cities is something I absolutely agree with.

What I’m saying is that San Francisco is a very different city as a community on the ground than as they are portrayed or as they portray themselves.

Were I the King, the city would be a different place but I’m not and the bay really is made up of a very wide range of people, they may be very different from each other but they all have that sense of community connection, It’s something even a visitor like myself can see and feel.

My mother and her sister made the B-24s at Willow Run in Michigan.

I love watching them both.

When my son was 10, he and I were walking across Lincoln Park, heading towards the pedestrian overpass over Lake Shore Drive, at the Chicago Air and Water Show, when from over the city, behind us, just clearing the high rises, a USAF F15 overflew us. We had less than a second to hear the engines and turn before it overflew us. It then cut in the afterburners and zoom-climed straight up and out of sight. It was his first airshow.

The “sound of freedom” never ceases to make me choke up….

However, here in San Diego, we are stuck with the Thunderbirds for our Fleet Week Airshow at MCAS Miramar because the Blues are in Hawaii for an airshow that week.

The Thunderbirds were the first demo team I ever had the pleasure of seeing when I was a kid.

My grandpa was a retired Air Force Lt. Col so the Thunderbirds have always had a special place in my heart. Plus, the first time I saw them (I was probably 8 or 9), my brother was sooooo in to the air force that we waited around and talked to the pilots/got their autographs and I developed my first men-in-uniform crush.

After that first time I went, the base always had the Blue Angels performing instead. They were (of course) also extremely impressive.

I can’t really say that I prefer one over the other. I’d be thrilled to go to an air show that had either.

Here’s a fun fact….

The City of San Francisco can’t do squat about it. They can’t ban it or prevent it from happening. The air space is controlled by the FAA, who when I last checked, doesn’t report to the board of supervisors.

What are they going to do if the Navy and the FAA tells them to go jump, fly barrage balloons and try to crash the jets?

The Blues appeared at Rockford last weekend at their Air Show. Rockford is closer to me than North Avenue beach and there *aren’t* 1.5 million people fighting for parking! (grin)

You have some good points. Not everybody in San Francisco hates America, our military, conservatives, and the Constitution, especially the 2nd Amendment. Just enough to elect a board of supervisors that do.

HOWEVER, if the board of supervisors actually do have the (gum)balls to ban the flyover, they way they banned the USS Iowa floating museum, JrROTC, and military recruitment, here is how I would like to see the Navy respond….

The Department of the Navy released the following communiqué from Assistant Undersecretary of the Navy for raining and Morale, Lucian V. Patriot:

“The Department of the Navy, speaking for the Department of Defense, accepts with pleasure the application of the City of

San Francisco, California, to be the new site of its live-fire training and exercise facility. Since the closing of the Visquenes facility in Puerto Rico, the Navy has been searching for a replacement site for live-fire exercises of Navy and Marine assets,

prior to deployment on active duty.

We are pleased to announce that San Francisco, with it’s passage of a prohibition of flyovers by the US Navy Blue and other measures to “opt out” of participating in the national defense, along with its Bay neighbor, Berkeley, has been selected to permanently host the new San Francisco Bay Area Military Training Facility.

While plans are still in a formative stage, it is expected that the new facility will extend to several sites in the Bay Area.

Part of this facility, “The San Francisco Nest of Traitors Live-Fire Training and Exercise Area,” will host intensive urban warfare training, using live ammunition, for segments of America’s military including most units of the United States Marines, Air Force, Army, and of course the US Navy. Projected activities will include finely tuned Tomahawk Missile and

army/naval bombardment artillery strikes on buildings such as City Hall, the Transamerica building, and the Embarcadero, which will also be used for amphibious landing training.

Other activities, including live bayonet exercises and massed riflery fire, will be conducted across the Bay in Berkeley at the new “Berkeley Nest of Traitors Live-Fire Training and Exercise Area at USC Berkeley,” on the campus quad for both Marine and Army infantry units, and the use of the Berkeley City administrative center for air-to-ground practice for both Navy, Marine Air, and Air Force squadrons. Other city and university facilities in the Bay Area will be utilized for exercises and will feature use of Marine and Army armored vehicles and rotary winged aircraft.

Separate exercises will be conducted in defense against bio-chemical warfare using live agents in these urban

environments. Techniques on urban war fighting in that environment, as well as practice in the offensive use of these weapons, will be taught within the Facility, which in effect, includes the entire San Francisco Bay Area but which will center on the City of San Francisco.

The Cities of San Francisco and Berkeley and university campus at Berkeley, long reservoirs of hatred against the United States military, and ardent supporters of countries and political philosophies hostile to the United States, will also serve a useful morale purpose, giving personal validation to military personnel as they train for insertion to areas of similar anti-US hostility such as Iraq.

Dates to begin operation and the schedule of individual training exercises will be announced shortly.”

Frankly, give the fact that Code Pink went to Jordan and gave Al Qaeda $600,000 in cash while my son was in Iraq during the Fallujah operation, I’d rather see the whole lot’s execution for treason on pay-per-view.

Giving the enemy aid and comfort is the definition of treason in the Constitution, and if the supervisors knuckle under to them and their fellow travelers, then to hell with the entire city.

One of the many things that impressed me about the Blue Angel pilots is what increadable physical shape they are in. My flight was the pilots 4th of the day. Back on the ground he was as fresh as a daisey while I had to go home and take a 3 hour nap.

These guys are truely awsome. Code Pink, et al…not at all.

This whole “banning” concept is ridiculous. I love SF for a lot of reasons, but it’s getting harder to defend when crap like this keeps happening.

yeah, but if history is any indication, it’s the will of the small minority that trumps the will of the majority. The Angels will probably be banned.
