We’ve got video of his H&C interview coming. In the meantime, explore Fred!
Update: All right, here you go. The campaign, Iraq, Iran, and his first 100 days. Straight talk — to borrow a phrase.
Update: “[I]t’s his accent that tells conservatives he’s one of their own.” I guess we’re a regional party now.
Update: Oh my. Fred versus Annie C? Whatever will our Coulter-bot readers do?
Update: Fred’s own internal poll confirms the Rasmussen result from earlier today. Looks like he’s already in second for real.

Ann wants another Clinton in the Whitehouse. More books, more attention, more money.
With that being said her big deal was Fred!’s split vote on Slicks impeachment. Not such a big deal, at least in my opinion.

Not sure who bluetarski is, but yeah, sorry about that… I thought I was some pathetic conspiracy theorist type who spends all my day posting “Ron Paul 2008″ at Youtube…. I just realized I’m not a delusional douche though, my bad.
Seriously though, am I the only one who has run across this? It’s really odd, and I almost wonder if there is some sort of Dem group behind it. There are “Ron Paul 2008!” comments popping up everywhere, especially YouTube… and I don’t think anyone is stupid enough to believe he really has a bunch of support. He has, at best a few thousand douchey college kid conspiracy theorist types, but even that I have to wonder about. I should just ignore it, but it pisses me off that these people are pretending to be the only “real” Republicans left, and acting like they aren’t retarded and think Paul stands a chance at all. It just really annoys me for some reason, which causes my intuition to tell me there may be some Dem group or money behind this whole thing.
RightWinged on June 5, 2007 at 9:50 PM
I’m with you. After the first debate someone tried to tell me it was ‘Birchers’….there aren’t that many Birchers to begin with and of the ones there are are still trying to figure out how to use their 8 tracks. It is the left. I have no doubt.

Speaking of Ron Paul, has anyone looked at his futures contract on itrade…. it’s trading down at 2.5 right now… guess that’s one indicator they can’t game.

Fred! is the best candidate for President of the Untied States to come along in decades. FINALLY we can vote for someone not based on how little damage they will do, but rather their leadership and ability to solve serious problems in the best interest of the United States and it’s citizens.
And yes, I did donate to Fred!, and sign up as a “Friend of Fred!”.

Why does he have a dark photo of himself with half of him in shawdows?
He makes himself look like a dark evil force, a.k.a. Hillary Clinton.
Christoph on June 5, 2007 at 10:06 PM
Ron Paul’s support could spell real trouble for the republicans. His supporters remind me of the crackpots who supported Perot in 92 and gave us 8 years of the Clenis. The silver lining to that cloud would be that Perot was filthy rich and Paul is not.
csdeven on June 5, 2007 at 10:07 PM
Where’s csdeven??? Probably trying to hack and sack the site. Trying to put an electronic mustache on Fred!’s face at the home page even as we speak.

I’m going to make a prediction - what happened in 1992 is going to happen again - at least one of these guys that don’t get the nomination is still going to run - ref Ross Perot - and split the republican vote - let’s face it, there are only 3 that have a chance for the nomination - Rudy, Fred and/or Mitt. Altho I’m leaning to Fred, I think Rudy is the best one that could beat Hillary.

So, if you’re not donating your paycheck to a campaign that just launched a website, and to a candidate who we don’t even know how he’d stand up in a debate, you must be hacking the guy’s site?

The Ritz on June 5, 2007 at 10:43 PM
I think it is becoming evident that fred? is avoiding tough interviews. He cannot keep this up for another month because unless you are a supporter, it begs the answer as to why.
Sean served up softballs and helped him clarify some answers. That is not impressive in any stretch. For me, this weakens fred?, as if I could be any less impressed by his behavior at this time.

RightWinged on June 5, 2007 at 10:47 PM
Ok….the interview….
viscer….visceral…viscir……oh whatever……I can’t spell it but I damn sure know what Bozo means. All that aside…..polish….he needs to simonize some of those responses. I liked what I heard but Rudy and Mitt already have the polish.

Why would you vote for a drug-addled ex-sports writer and political pundit who committed suicide a good long time ago?
:D
fusionaddict on June 5, 2007 at 10:54 PM
I didn’t say they shouldn’t. I think they should. You’re right it’s convenient.
Actually, I made comments a while back saying that it’s not that I don’t like Fred Thompson, I just don’t know much about him, and I’m more in favor of Rudy, but I’d vote for him over Dems.
I don’t, however, like being treated like Fred supporters have seen the light, and poor little amerpundit is still confused in supporting someone else over Thompson.

amerpundit on June 5, 2007 at 10:55 PM
Thanks…I was really sincere in my question. I have heard 98% positive about PayPal and have had an flawless track record with them for a number of years, but the 2% who have had a bad experience…are adamant.
RushBaby on June 5, 2007 at 11:01 PM
The interview:
Agreed with everything I heard. I acknowledge a lack of fluency but everything said had the ring of sincerity that’s missing with everyone else. When Fred! speaks I believe he means what he says.
CS, I’ll let you in on a secret. I’ve been tracking your guy Mitt for a while. Of the group who’ve declared he seems to be the most conservative. But my worry has been that all that wonderful polish is accompanied by a discomfiting amount of slipperiness. The last 6+ years have given me my fill of fake conservatives.
But, if Fred! doesn’t get in, I’ll have to ignore my trepidation and go for Mitt.
The Ritz on June 5, 2007 at 11:02 PM
I use it all the time. I think it’s the easiest way to transfer money online. I just haven’t seen candidates using it, though they really should. I guess the fees could mount up, however, when dealing with millions of dollars.
amerpundit on June 5, 2007 at 11:07 PM
I have been purchasing, donating, transfering, etc on-line since it all started. Never had a problem, but I believe it is because I pay a lot of attention to my firewall and AV programs. I’ve made hundreds of purchases etc thru PayPal and never had a problem……except my balance!

Defector01 on June 5, 2007 at 11:13 PM
I see it too. I don’t know what it is or how he can overcome the perception. I wonder how widespread it is and if is even something he should be concerned about? I, like you put that as a very low concern if push comes to shove. Maybe it’s that the other candidates aren’t as polished? Maybe compared against a Hillary or Obama, it will be a very positive perception and could make a huge difference when compared to Hillary’s contrivances and Obama, the empty magic suit and his total lack of experience?
csdeven on June 5, 2007 at 11:13 PM

Fred gazed at Ann with that authoritative stare and she threw a pie at herself!
Coyote D. on June 5, 2007 at 11:15 PM
Yeah, there are people who are militantly against PayPal. I’ve never used it, but I know there are people who hate it with a fiery passion.
I will say, Fred! is a little green or rusty with the interview game, and the learning time is gonna be short, whether he or we want it to be or not. I think even if he wasn’t a bit green or rusty, he was smart to skip the Romper Room at CNN.
I will say I think his heavy use of alternate media is gonna be good for us in the long run, no matter if gets the nom. We’ve been way behind the left in developing online, and we need to in order to beat back the Left, we’ve pretty much ceded the MSM to them, we can’t let them have the Intarweb too. Plus it’ll be a critical point in development of a counter to the Leftist media machinery, which if we’ve learned anything in the past few years, its that.
Of course, he’ll have to get ready to face hostile media no matter what, there’s no avoiding it, even in an alternate media focused campaign.

W.C.Fields said “a man has to believe in something… I believe I’ll have another drink.” Well, OK, maybe that’s not the right bon mote, but just bravely sitting at the keyboard is not going to save this country at this juncture. If we go down in flames, well, then at least we’ll have tried.

Fred Thompson, becuase he actually cares about things like laws and the Constitution, felt that the evidence for perjury was insuficient to convict because it requires insight into the thoughts in the mind of the accused but felt that the obstruction charge was more provable and more serious.

I wouldn’t say it’s a very low concern . . . I’ve been uneasy about Mitt as long as I’ve watched him. But compared to Giuliani and McCain? Pleez! No contest for a genuine conservative. Besides Mitt has demonstrated real competence in prior executive positions.
I just keep worrying that when it comes down to fighting for genuine conservative SCOTUS nominees etc. he won’t show up - he’ll find a polished compromise instead. That’s the kind of stuff I can’t take anymore of.
