OK, OK, OK, so maybe it would be impolitic for the US to bomb ten thousand Taliban in Waziristan, no matter how deserving. But you know, what if a robot-driven truck bomb were to detonate in the crowd of fanatical Sunni Muslims with a couple bodies of Revolutionary Guards, harvested from the battlefields in Iraq, strapped into it? Maybe there could be Shiite propaganda pamphlets in it, distributed by the blast, telling the Sunni Taliban that they must submit to the Shiite rule of Iran’s mullahs?

Then we can all throw some steaks on the barbecue, pop a cold one, and let the Taliban and Revolutionary Guards fight to the death.

Let’s hope that all 10,000 aren’t attending a funeral. Then we couldn’t kill them.

Now personally I think it would be VERY convenient to kill them at a graveyard. No one would have to waste all that money on transportation.

From a political perspective, I’m convinced we’re just not in it to win it.

If we can’t get our game on, perhaps it is time for us to lick our wounds, come home and prepare to fight another day.

Musharraf – I realize that your authority over the Frontier was tenuous at best – but this sure proves what the Afghans and we have been telling you about your “peace” deal.

Oh, and AP – I think there were several reasons we didn’t level the place; it was inside Pakistan and they have kittens whenever we do so little as shoot back over the border near BCP1, 2 or 4 (easier to snipe off a single person, or maybe drop a JDAM on a house than go all Russian-Air-Force-on-Grozny), I suspect the crowd counting was done by the same people who “estimate” crowd sizes for anti-war protests 91,2,3, 100000!), or I can take the easy way out and compare this to Israeli restraint when crowds of masked gumen march through the streets of some craphole in Gaza chanting “Death to the Zionists”…

Even if we were to assume that all 10k were males of military age armed and ready to fight, a strike would probably not be called for fear of getting the “Highway of Death” treatment by the media and the left. Justified or not, 10k enemy KIA is just too much for the weak-kneed liberals of the world.
