You’d have to ask them that. But the point still remains – what you said was a non sequitur. To expect the media to report on every single murder case you want them to isn’t plausible.

Let me pose a hypothetical. The media reports heavily on the death of a child due to starvation. Would it be rational to demand the media report on every child that dies of hunger (1 every 5 seconds)? (replace hunger with murder and there you go)

Non sequitur. People are murdered every single day. The media can’t report every single one. In fact I can only remember a handful of murder cases the national media regularly covered.

Since all the national attention to this story began, it’s given me a different perspective on news coverage, and how it must affect the loved ones of the victims. I know if it were my brother (or sister, etc.) I wouldn’t want to keep turning on the news and seeing their face and hearing the details over and over again.

That said, this goofball Maize is completely off-base when he says that “if the races were reversed, the media would not have picked up on it.” Uh, hello?? Duke Lacrosse??? Tawana Brawley??? Crown Heights??? Of course, the local “racial activists” here are no different than those anywhere else. There was a case a couple of years ago where a cop shot a black kid who, after being told to put his hands in plain sight, kept reaching for something. The cops shot and killed him. The kid was, indeed, reaching for a gun. But that wasn’t the point. The point was that a white cop shot a black kid. That was all over the local news for months.

And just for the record, Knoxville is not the center of the racist universe, as CNN would have you believe. Whites and blacks alike are shocked and horrified by this crime. But nobody has called out the posse or the lynch mob just yet.

A subject still very worthy of discussion is the savage murder of Christopher Newsom and Channon Christian, a white couple who were murdered by a black gang in Knoxville, Tennessee. Michelle Malkin did a podcast about it a few weeks ago (read also he…..

Couldn’t they have bothered to give even one guess at why they didn’t care about this until now?

Seriously. Compared with the Duke case … a bunch of rich, whiter than white college boys are accused of raping a poor, single mom struggling to get by, who just so happens to be black. That isn’t supposed to happen! They are supposed to be good boys! Good, rich, white boys don’t do such things!

Now, a rich, whiter than white college couple is out on a date. They are attacked, car-jacked, raped, tortured and killed. By blacks. In other news, the sun rose in the east and water is wet. Ho hum, nothing new around here.

The racist media finds no “news” in the fact that blacks committed a crime. It IS news when whites do.

They’ve been called on the carpet for this, and are now scrambling to spin it away from their own racist tendancies. Indeed, the white supremist rally here was only on the news because the leader got himself arrested … and the counter-protestors had a rather unique way of getting their message across.

But then, the fact that the media is leftie-biased, and the so-called liberal left is racist to its core is not really *cough* news to many here.

Can this get any more outrageous? First this horrific crime happened to these two poor souls. Then it wasn’t covered because the MSM was too busy trying to score a gotcha in a rape case that didn’t involve a rape but did involve a bunch of white guys and a black female “victim”. Now the MSM as you said Hilts is distorting the story into something else entirely. I can only hope that the trial goes well at this point and these monsters get the death penalty they so very much deserve (a death that will be all too quick IMO but it’s something).
