Laura really nailed it. Of course, the true sentiment of this shamnesty bill is something that she can’t really say over the air and I’d be reticent to say here. Let’s just say I’m a very straight man, and I feel like W & co. are, uh, batting for the other team and really screwing us over.

I’m pissed about the “immigration reform” for sure, but caving in to moonbat rhetoric (the Prez iz STOOPID) is crap.

Not believing in something as strongly as those who support you does NOT constitute stupidity.

For the record, I’m out of my mind with anger at the proposed legislation that amounts to amnesty. I’m equally pissed that Bush (the Prez I’ve defended) supports it.

I once admired the man for “knowing” what America had to do. I no longer admire him as such, but calling him stupid directly or indirectly is just plain incorrect. It’s a moonbat habit and one nobody on the right should be picking up lest they ally themselves with those they despise.

I didn’t think I’d get to this point, but what if Bush was impeached, and Cheney took over? What’s his position on the amnesty bill? If it happened, would the #3 take over as VP. That would mean Vice President Pelosi. If that’s the case, talk about being between a big rock and a bigger rock.

One thing at a time. Those who wish to impeach the President wouldn’t do it over the Amnesty. The issue they’d like to base an impeachment upon they cannot, as they voted him the authority to carry out the military operations as he saw fit. While we despise the Amnesty, his otherwise political opponents do not. So no chance he’d be impeached, for better or worse.

No, the succession protocol doesn’t put the Speaker into the VP chair. When Agnew resigned in 1973, Nixon appointed Ford to VP in accordance with the 25th Amendment. When Nixon resigned, Ford became President, and appointed Nelson Rockefeller. By the way, the only time in our nation’s history when neither the President nor Vice President was elected to the office.

The Speaker of the House was long-time Congressman Carl Albert. Prior to Ford’s appointment to Vice President, there was a period of time where Albert was next in succession. He could have bullrushed an impeachment proceeding that would have landed him in the Oval Office, but refused, in spite of numerous colleagues’ encouragement to do so.

Laura is as right as she can be on this one. The President has worn out the support of those who fought twice for his election. Many have run from the party ::hand raised::, many more refuse to continue donating to the party. The fault isn’t with the Oval Office alone, but that’s where the buck stops.

McCain/Feingold, Education, Medicare, government expansion, insane deficit spending, Dubai Ports, and open borders/amnesty. These things and more like them have shown us that “compassionate conservatism” is really “social*sm lite”.

The national party either recognizes the need to return to the values that brought it to greatness, or it will turn to dust.

I’m embarrassed to have supported him for so long.

I havent reached that point yet, but believe me I am really pissed off about some of the cr@p that has come out of his mouth recently.

He’s catching up with Carter as the worst prez ever.

As angry as I am over his recent immigration stance and the things he has said while trying to bully people into supporting it I also honestly believe that the war on terror is sooo important that his actions in it mean that he is going to go down in history as one of America’s most important presidents ever.

How would John F. Kennedy have been viewed in 1963 if the majority of America had known just how close he had brought the entire world to total annihilation by attempting to invade Cuba in 1961???

No history is not going to look at Bush the same as we do today, or even the way we look at Carter today, it’s not even going to look at Carter the way we look at Carter today.

The only thing left for him to do is to declare the USA an open country, like France did with Paris in 1940.

I feel cheated, swindled, flimflamed, hoaxed, deceived, betrayed, mislead, hoodwinked, hornswoggled, bamboozled, jobed, and screwed. I’ve been duped, sold a bill of goods, taken for a ride, taken for a sucker, had wool pulled over my eyes, and had my leg pulled.
