Video: Truthers finally reach the top of the 9/11 food chain

posted at 3:50 pm on May 29, 2007 by Allahpundit

The Times has a fun piece out today about Rudy’s image makeover on the trail. No more the ranting ferret critic, he; that was Mayor Rudy. Would-be President Rudy’s always got a grin and a kind word, even for detractors. There’s no better illustration of that than right here as Mr. 9/11 comes face to face with the dregs of society, one of whom merrily inquires as to how he can sleep at night. And darned if that thousand-watt smile doesn’t shine on the whole way through.

I do like the nascent mohawk on the kid in the back, though.

You can watch the Peter Jennings video to which they refer at Prison Planet, the gold standard for American conspiracy websites. It’s owned of course by Alex Jones, whom you might remember from his warm fireside-ish chats with “thinkin’ man’s candidate” Ron Paul. Once you’re done, just follow along on this debunker’s page, noting especially the question at the very end. There were several warnings of collapse that day and none of them had to do with explosives.

Exit question: What exactly did that old lady say to Rudy to elicit that reaction in the Times photo? Good lord. Click the image to watch.

RUDY: “With my THIRD wife, actually.”

seejanemom on May 29, 2007 at 4:01 PM

Way to go Rudy. Bitch slap those Ho’s!

omnipotent on May 29, 2007 at 4:01 PM

Why don’t politicians employ bouncers to beat the shit out of these little freaks when confronted? Is that not allowed, or something?

And how long did Rudy shake this goofy little girl’s hand?

And why hasn’t someone lit that kid’s mohawk on fire yet?

So many questions…

Jaibones on May 29, 2007 at 4:02 PM

Way to go Rudy.

B*tch slap administered.

omnipotent on May 29, 2007 at 4:02 PM

Well, they convinced me, what did it was her unwavering reading of questions she got from Rosie’s appearances on the view.

They are doing such great work.

Ooops…sorry for the double post.

That was a long handshake.

These people should be drafted to serve as airplane emergency flotation devices.

unamused on May 29, 2007 at 4:14 PM

As I was walking to the new coffee shop in the city (the one being protested because it is an Israeli owned coffee chain), I noticed the many many fliers pasted to poles advertising the 9/11 conspiracy film that is going to screening downtown somewhere. What in the world is wrong with these people? And, what in the world are we to do about them?

The actually make me violent and ill.

nailinmyeye on May 29, 2007 at 4:14 PM

At what point when asking these questions does a normally balanced person ask themselves, “what the hell am I even saying?”

I don’t understand the jollies people get from being this suspicious of their government and protectors. You have to make such cynical and dumbfounding leaps of logic to accept most of the subparts of these theories, much less the overall narative.

It’s a shame to have what turned out to be his finest moment as a leader trashed by these morons.

Freelancer on May 29, 2007 at 4:25 PM

Did it bother anyone else that the headline at the new site was “Activists Confront Giuliani”?

Activists? Hardly.

How about “Whacked-out Conspiracy Theory Nuts Attempt to Make a Point to Giuliani but Fail Miserably as They Have No Point to Make”….

Alright…perhaps a little long for a news headline, but, it does seem more accurate to say the least.

JadeNYU on May 29, 2007 at 4:26 PM

Smile for the camera Rudy!
…Smile with everything you got before you throttle those kids!!!!

he he he he

This is going to be the most entertaining election cycle EVAH!

Rudy’s stare in that video is priceless. Poor truther, all full of speaking truth to power, and then Rudy eats her soul merely by looking at her.

Love that guy.

Krydor on May 29, 2007 at 4:32 PM

If this sort of thing is going to be the product of Kos’s call for video, it is going to be a very long election cycle.

Spirit of 1776 on May 29, 2007 at 4:38 PM

The whole time he was shaking her hand, and a couple of seconds in, she stops, says “Oh…” and looks at her notes…

I thought Rudy was vice-gripping her hand at that point.

She looked like she was about to pee her pants! She had no clue what she was saying. She was just reading from a script someone probably gave out to their entire group in hopes that one of them would be able to confront him.

The media is complicit…expect these to happen more.

tomas on May 29, 2007 at 4:48 PM

What I want to know is why isn’t Rudy calling for an investigation into how the truthers got so God Da&! Stupid? Come on Rudy inquiring minds want to know. Were these people always complete imbeciles or are they the hapless victims of a vast conspiracy that involves chemical intellectual castration? Could they all be alien abductees who had their brains sucked out during the infamous anal probing?

doriangrey on May 29, 2007 at 4:56 PM

Allah,

I think these people (the truthers) are going to become very prominent in the coming years. It’s only going to get worse.

bert169 on May 29, 2007 at 4:57 PM

The time soon may arrive when the left will claim Truthers are Rovian plants designed to make them look like complete morons.

Did anyone else notice the title of the story?
Behold:

Activists Confront Giuliani Over 9/11

Great, they’re “activists” now.

Freelancer on May 29, 2007 at 4:25 PM

The Truthers are people who will never amount to anything in life. Here, on the other hand is Rudy Giuliani, who has amounted to . . . quite a lot, and maybe will amount to more.

By behaving as they do, the Truthers get the chance, if only for a moment, and while exposing themselves as idiots, get to share the stage with someone of the stature of Mr. Giuliani.

Labamigo on May 29, 2007 at 5:55 PM

I was a little disappointed. I wanted him to say, “Young lady, do you know how they make steel?”

Farmer_Joe on May 29, 2007 at 6:14 PM

billy on May 29, 2007 at 5:44 PM

That was my thought exactly.

It should have been “Nutjobs Bother Candidate” or something along those lines.

JadeNYU on May 29, 2007 at 6:19 PM

It should have been “Nutjobs Bother Candidate” or something along those lines.

I would have preferred, “Giuliani rebuffs conspiracy theorists.”

billy on May 29, 2007 at 5:44 PM

I think activists is the right term. All activists are about is their pet issue. Very rarely do they let reality interfere with their agenda.

lorien1973 on May 29, 2007 at 6:44 PM

I hate these people (Truthers) so much.

Jim-Rose on May 29, 2007 at 7:21 PM

I do like the nascent mohawk on the kid in the back, though.

What’s with those pussified mohawks anyway? You’re either gumballsy enough to sport a mohawk, or you’re not. None of this “I’m cool enough to wear a fauxhawk on the weekends, but my job doesn’t let me have one” nonsense!

Another example of the wussification of our “youts.”

NTWR on May 29, 2007 at 7:32 PM

Where’s Rudy’s line of dignity?

Mojave Mark on May 29, 2007 at 7:43 PM

Someone may have already mentioned this, and I just emailed you too AP, but in case you don’t get it there first, here’s what I sent you:

Hey, I just listened to the audio of Rudy with Jennings at Alex Jones’ Prison Planet
http://www.prisonplanet.com/articles/april2005/090405gotwarning.htm

And notice they deceptively cut out a sentence that doesn’t work with the “Giuliani had foreknowledge and got away from the scene long before and didn’t tell anyone” crap they’re trying to pull. Below, I’ve copied and pasted the transcript from Screw Loose Change, and placed in bold all that was cut from Prison Planet’s audio:

“I–I went down to the scene and we set up headquarters at 75 Barkley Street, which was right there with the police commissioner, the fire commissioner, the head of emergency management, and we were operating out of there when we were told that the World Trade Center was going to collapse. And it did collapse before we could actually get out of the building, so we were trapped in the building for 10, 15 minutes, and finally found an exit and got out, walked north, and took a lot of people with us.”

See, Giuliani basically was told of a concern that the towers might come down, and he was on the scene with no time to get out and they did collapse while he was there. The liar Alex Jones (Truther in Chief) cut the word “collapse” right in the middle and didn’t pick the audio up again until Rudy said “10″, because it doesn’t play in to the Rudy got a tip from the Bushinati and hightailed it outta there.

These Trufy peeples are out to lunch on a a bad dose of banana’s from somewhere. They need to get a life and go to Bagdad and get some real up front and personla interviews about the real TRUTH.

bones47 on May 29, 2007 at 9:26 PM

RightWinged, I was going to post something similar. Thank you for saving me some time.

My jaw still drops at the depths these people will sink. Jones and his ilk are just slime. I try to tell myself that people just can’t be that stupid to fall for their nonsense. Yet they’re everywhere, and those that should know better and continue perpetuating this crap get their jollies (and profits!), unmoved by the damage they are causing.

JimRich on May 29, 2007 at 10:09 PM

Where’s Rudy’s line of dignity?

Mojave Mark

Right about when he has live national coverage. He’s playing this exactly right. He doesn’t care too much about making some brainwashed kid cry in public. Nope, it will be the whole enchelada when the cameras cannot look away.

Krydor on May 29, 2007 at 10:17 PM

Thanks for the link as always, Allah! The kid with the Mohawk is Luke Rudkowski, a player in the NY 9-11 Denial group. He’s probably best known for shouting down Zbigniew Brzezinski as CFR (Council on Foreign Relations) scum at a speech a couple months ago. His group is known as “We Are Change” and their objective is to be much more “in your face” than the old-style NY Truthers. Luke is considered by Debunkers as the Truther most likely to go postal at some point.

And somewhere there sits a smiling gray haired billionaire reaching for his leather-bound checkbook with the solid gold monogrammed letters G.S. in the lower corner. Again he will strike while the iron is hot…

This country faces something much worse than another 9/11 if George Soros and his plans, among other things, to co-opt the democratic party (a done deal) continue to go unchecked.

Maybe HotAir could add another new feature: an advertising blitz for a (conservative) sugar daddy of our own? Is Ross Perot still loaded? Ok, I panicked. But, seriously, what steps could we take to prevent this from becoming the United States of Soros?

P.T Barnum was wrong.

There’s actually MORE than one fool born every minute and some other fool has been supplying them with video cameras.
