Permanent View co-hosts Barbara Walters, Elisabeth Hasselbeck, and Joy Behar discussed the departure of Rosie O’Donnell and reminisced about former “View” panelists this morning. Walters made it clear that Rosie left on her own and was not fired or asked to leave by ABC. Walters also commented on the split-screen, which apparently was the last straw. BabaWawa said it has been used several times before and even last week prior to the outbreak of nuclear war between Rosie and Elisabeth.

Fox News showed the clip of Rosie warming up the audience with “Truther” talking points this morning and speculated that ABC may have greased the ramp for her non return.

She finally got to use the speech she prepared for the day Star was to “leave on her own”……

Whoopi? Why replace Rosie with a clone?
JinxMcHue on May 29, 2007 at 1:55 PM
Had to squeeze ONE MORE drop if grease from that pig, didn’t ya, Ian?
Or should I say “drop of glue from a LONG DEAD NAG”.
seejanemom on May 29, 2007 at 1:55 PM
First Rosie, then Sheehan?
Is it me, or does it feel good to be alive!

Dam, was hoping to see Elisabeth start the show wearing a fake mustache! Instead we get another fake co-host…
soulsirkus on May 29, 2007 at 1:57 PM
Forgot to add this.
Exit question: Now that Rosie’s gone, will Allah Pundit continue to show clippings of The View, or will he simply “entertain us” by linking to Rosie’s blog?
Darnell Clayton on May 29, 2007 at 1:58 PM
For the first time I switched over to see the view this morning and saw Whoopie Goldberg. I wonder if she will ask the audience if they want to see her Bush? Hmm replacing a loser with a loser.

‘The View’… here at ‘Hot Air’…
It’s like a bad penny.
It. just. won’t. go. away.
Lawrence on May 29, 2007 at 1:59 PM
I watched part of Rosie’s video blog sunday; she’s got dead eyes. Like their is a great void in her soul.
liquidflorian on May 29, 2007 at 2:05 PM
Blah blah blah…
Or should I say…
cluck cluck cluck.
Same shite different day.
tickleddragon on May 29, 2007 at 2:09 PM
They should take this time and make the show the View again and not the gang up on poor little girl show.
tomas on May 29, 2007 at 2:12 PM
This may surprise some of you young pups, but I can remember way back in the day when there was a woman ALSO named Barbara Walters … who was a pretty serious journalist and widely respected.
No kidding. Google it.
Not entirely sure how she’s related to the airhead of the similar name I just listened to, though.

seejanemom I love your comments, but I feel you may be holdig back just a bit? Tell us how you really feel, let it out. LOL ;:- )

Or will you scroll down when you see something that doesn’t interest you?
Jim Treacher on May 29, 2007 at 2:21 PM
Is it really all that hard to believe that a once-respected “journalist” would lose all credibility for the right amount of cash? She is an absentee-landlord on that show that she “created”. She is hardly there for all of the craziness that goes on and finds it hard to condemn anything that goes against common sense/fact/truth.
If you miss the Walters of old, I hear that she sold all of her old interviews to Sirius. Can’t imagine the appeal of going back to listen to that, though. Precious few will hold much meaning in the world of today.

I think Whoopi’s the one they’re going to have replace Rosie (or Star), but we’ll soon see.
It’s a shame that Behar is only bothered by dysfunctional moments on The View, “for a minute” and then she moves on. How can I have even LESS respect for her?
asc85 on May 29, 2007 at 2:25 PM
Is Whoopi up on the latest Truther talking points?

Lawrence,
Bad penny my a$$, its more like a certain sexually transmitter disease known by its four letter acronym………….It’s the gift that just keeps giving………
doriangrey on May 29, 2007 at 2:34 PM
I don’t have the stomach to watch… did Serious Journalist Barbara Walters share her admiration for Rosie’s dogged pursuit of 9/11 Truth? Is BaWa still going to have the Loose Change guys on? Are they still trying to book Ivy League physicists to prove that fire cannot melt steel?
C’mon, it was good enough for the show last week, so Rosie’s absence shouldn’t change things, right?
To quote Rosie herself, “Eat me.”
saint kansas on May 29, 2007 at 2:41 PM
Barbara’s body language tells a somewhat different story.
More like, thank God and Greyhound she’s gone!
I think Whoopie is a good replacement for Rosie, she may be a liberal but at least she’s interesting and not an obnoxious jerk.
Speakup on May 29, 2007 at 2:44 PM
did Barbara get a face lift… she looks different.
Shack on May 29, 2007 at 2:58 PM
I think Rosie orchestrated her own early departure so she wouldn’t have to do the Truther vs PM episode, knowing in her tiny little stegasaurian brain that she’d come out looking worse than she went in.
Mindcrime on May 29, 2007 at 3:05 PM
I can’t remember the last time I gave less a shit.

boy, did I ever read that wrong the first time through.

Interchangeable moonbat wackos.
Unscrew Rosie and screw in Woopie Stupie
There will be no shortages of View clips is predict.
Kini on May 29, 2007 at 3:57 PM
I think if Bawbwa was any more sincere about how much she adores Rosie and wishes she didn’t leave, her head would explode. But I’m sure there’s a couple of Rosie fans who believed it and were grateful.
Black eyes, like a doll’s eyes…
So there’s two black comediennes named Whoopi Goldberg? The one I know of is every bit the obnoxious jerk. I’ve seen her shout down an interviewer who tried to ask a tough question. She’s another useful idiot of the left, as infected with BDS as Alec Baldwin or Charlie Sheen. I won’t watch her movies, I won’t watch her on TV. So, maybe she is right for The View, at least I know how to avoid her for an hour each day.
Freelancer on May 29, 2007 at 4:08 PM
If anyone’s endured the Rosie’s video goodbye on her blog, there’s no doubt that she was shown the door rather unceremoniously, as should have happened months ago.
What is wrong with America that they would watch this and Jerry Springer and _____ (fill in the blank)TV trash?
I can almost understand why Hugo Chavez shut down the TV stations in Venezuela!
Jen the Neocon on May 29, 2007 at 4:27 PM
Whoopi has a foul mouth. But besides that, here is one of many infamous Whoopi quotes from Bill Maher:

To Joy Behar,
Rosie O’Donnel’s behavior was not a dysfunctional moment!
Rosie O’Donnel’s behavior is a common occurance, it is part of her, like white on white rice, or like blue on a Blue Jay, or like black on coal.
Rosie O’Donnel exemplifies dysfunctional behavior.
Rather than applaud such behavior, it would be more productive to discuss how it is not appropriate, an its practice should be discouraged!
Rosie has been behaving like a looney, disrespectful, rude, arrogant, condescending brute, a bully, and she has also been demonstrating psychological and emotional imbalance.
She will not be missed, save for the pain, suffering, and discomfort she brought to others. She will be missed like a bad toothe ache, or like cancer, or like a vice clamp squeezing a man’s testicles, or like a sledge hammer to the head, or even like a hot iron to the eyeball.

It’s a tragedy to see Rosie leave her bully pulpit for lefty numbskullery. Who will make an ass of the Left now?
Tantor on May 29, 2007 at 5:22 PM
I’m pretty sure that Rosie said that Elizabeth would have (paraphrase) “3 weeks to spout her Republican views.” It seems to me that Rosie knew she was leaving the show before that last show or else why would she say that? It sounds like some of this was done for theater.
Personally, I wish Rosie would have stuck around because it was a great way to point out all the distasteful junk that the far left spews out.
thule on May 29, 2007 at 5:48 PM
Near the beginning of the clip, when Bawbaw says that ’she and Rosie are very close friends,’ her eyes dart to the left for just an instant. I believe that is a “tell” that she is lying.
Mallard T. Drake on May 29, 2007 at 7:00 PM
I used to think that Barbara was a smart business woman who could make things happen and be in control. No longer so. Wah- Wah is responsible for bringing this creature to the public and she is now wondering why she got bit in the ass. Rosie is not an interesting study; she is a bully, a racist, and an anti-american! I hope to never see her again!
NEMETI IN SYRACUSE on May 29, 2007 at 8:27 PM
I recorded it to see how it’d go, and I have to say, I loved that Elizabeth pretended to draw a mustache on herself when Jimmy Fallon gave her the pen. I forget that she has a sense of humor, sometimes.

Assuming this link is going to work, you’ll be happy to know Rosie qualified for a mention in ‘crazy celebrity blog posts‘
Hooray for everyone!

And since the link has decided to tack on the hotair address at the start, it doesn’t work. So bugger it, I’ll just dump it here

Its funny that when Barbara Walters announced that Rosie wouldn’t be coming back, the audience was quiet without a sad moan groan or awwwww in the bunch.More than a few people are glad to see Rosie gone.
Dysfunctional moments my eye!

Tried to post on the new thread, but couldn’t.
Anyway, headline suggestion for your next Rosie post (we know there’s going to be one):
