Hillary: Who’s in the mood for a little collectivism?

posted at 2:44 pm on May 29, 2007 by Allahpundit

Say this much for the Glacier: however much her surname, her accent, her choice of baseball team, or her position on Iraq may change, her belief in taking things away from you for the common good remains evergreen.

And the most charming part? How easily and naturally confiscatory rhetoric escapes her lips. “We might need to raise taxes” is a blue-party position; but “we’re going to take those profits”? That’s pure Green, baby.

Hey — that amnesty’s not going to pay for itself.

The Democratic senator said what the Bush administration touts as an “ownership society” really is an “on your own” society that has widened the gap between rich and poor.

“I prefer a ‘we’re all in it together’ society,” she said. “I believe our government can once again work for all Americans. It can promote the great American tradition of opportunity for all and special privileges for none.”

That means pairing growth with fairness, she said, to ensure that the middle-class succeeds in the global economy, not just corporate CEOs.

In fairness, she hasn’t quite joined the Greens yet:

“There is no greater force for economic growth than free markets. But markets work best with rules that promote our values, protect our workers and give all people a chance to succeed,” she said. “Fairness doesn’t just happen. It requires the right government policies.”

Exit question: Notwithstanding her socialist leanings, isn’t Hillary’s decision — alone among major Democratic candidates — to shun Yearly Kos reason enough to hope she’s the nominee?

I think Hillary! is worried she may get the same treatment at Yearly Kos that Ms. USA did in Mexico.

If people don’t see a little (or perhaps a lot) of Marx and Lenin in old Hillary then they had better look a little deeper.

**Sharing** with the Clintons sounds way too much like having Caliglia share in the celebration of your wedding. I’m buying sharing offsets and keeping the women folk inside when either of those two inbreds campaign in Boston.

“Fairness doesn’t just happen. It requires the right government policies.”

Alrighty then. Question for Evita Madame Hillary: Who in the government gets to decide what’s “fair?”

Follow-up question: “And what exactly qualifies them as judges of ‘fairness?’”

I thought so.

“It’s axiomatic that people who say, ‘All Power to the People!’ want all the power to go to the people saying, ‘All Power to the People!’”

It can promote the great American tradition of opportunity for all and special privileges for none… and ensure that every American has affordable health insurance.

thirteen28, nearly every rich Marxist is thinking “Marxism for thee but not for me.”

Its hard to challenge the elite’s authority when you’ve had every means to challenge their supremacy taken away from you. Which pretty much explains the thinking behind the Democrat platform perfectly.

Bad Candy on May 29, 2007 at 3:11 PM

Ok then, I deem that no democrat needs more than 1 million dollars in the bank to live on, and any salary greater than $250,000 per year (including benefits and stock options). Any more than that needs to be distributed to the rest of us.
Let them set the standard for the next 5 years.

All in favor, say Aye!

Would it be in poor taste to give her an atomic wedgie at some point? Granted, the extra force on the pole that’s been up her ass may cause some tissue damage; but, I think it highly worth it.

This is just getting silly. Who takes her serial(ously) with all of this crap?

And I’m in the final stages of a new home purchase (America is working just fine for me, thank you very much), I might need my monies to pay for that place … or, will I have to “share the wealth” of my 2nd bedroom with a bunch of jobless hippies?

Now, Jane, turn off the gas and slowly back out of the kitchen…

The more she tells the nation what she really wants the more she can’t win. Let’s hope she keeps letting little bits of truth slip through for the next 8 months.

That is, unless we want her to be the nominee because she is so very beatable, in which case, “Hillary, take the Marxism down a notch, at least until after the Primary”.

Freelancer on May 29, 2007 at 3:29 PM

I may be with Jane here.

Free, the problem with this is assuming logic and common sense will prevail. There have been too many instances in politics lately to suggest that logic and common sense don’t have a chance.

What worries me more is the email I got from the GOP chairman here in Contra Costa county. The gist of it is that I need to stay in the party so that we can all run against Hillary. We do not need to get in the tank with the BDS crowd and go all HDS. WE need to run on ideas and actions that are good for America, not on a platform of “anything to keep her out”.

bbz123 on May 29, 2007 at 3:33 PM

Ah….. Two cups of the ‘Great Society’ of LBJ, mix in a bunch of ‘New Deal’, stir in 8 oz of ‘Universal Health Care’, and pour over a plate of never ending bureaucracy and we have ‘Posh-Nosh-for-the-Masses’. Enough to feed a village, for a fee of course.

There is no greater force for economic growth than free markets. But markets work best with rules that promote our values, protect our workers and give all people a chance to succeed,” she said. “Fairness doesn’t just happen. It requires the right government policies.”

Did anybody else giggle at the above? After all – in one paragraph she simultaneously applauds “free markets” and then describes an economic situation that is the polar opposite of a free market economy.

Free markets are, above all else (wait for it …) – free. Unregulated or minimally regulated.

C’mon. That’s funny.

Maybe ol’ Hill ain’t as smart as she thinks.

Rick on May 29, 2007 at 4:18 PM

I have to pull this out from time to time…

democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largess of the public treasury. From that time on the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits from the public treasury, with the results that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy, always followed by a dictatorship. The average age of the world’s great civilizations has been 200 years. These nations have progressed through this sequence:from bondage to spiritual faith;from spiritual faith to great courage;from courage to liberty;from liberty to abundance;from abundance to selfishness;from selfishness to complacency;from complacency to apathy;from apathy to dependency;from dependency back again to bondage.
–Sir Alex Fraser Tytler (1742-1813) Scottish jurist and historian

“I prefer a ‘we’re all in it together’ society,” she said. “I believe our government can once again work for all Americans. It can promote the great American tradition of opportunity for all and special privileges for none.”

(note: no more political bribes disguised as fortunes made in trading pork belly options)

That means pairing growth with fairness, she said, to ensure that the middle-class succeeds in the global economy, not just corporate CEOs.

(note: if you are prospering too much, you aren’t being “fair” and government will step in and bitch slap you back down to where you oughta be . . . and you know what I’m talkin’ ‘bout).

“There is no greater force for economic growth than free markets. But markets work best with rules that promote our values, protect our workers and give all people a chance to succeed,” she said. “Fairness doesn’t just happen. It requires the right government policies.”

(note: in other words, we aren’t going to have free markets, although I just said they were the greatest force for economic growth. No, I didn’t. I never said that. You just don’t want a woman to be president. )

I would say that Hillary is a sosialist -commie-collectivist-fascist but I suppose that would be too obvious, kind of like saying the Pope is Catholic. Hillary wants the antithesis of America, she wants America to be like Russia, Cuba, Venezuela, China or Zimbabwe.

She is a dedicated sosialist just like the majority of her party. I read in an article several months ago that a campaign would soon begin by the Left to exalt and attempt to dignify sosialism, it looks like that campaign has begun. If Hillary, or any democrats for that matter, gets elected in 2008, hold onto your hats comrades, and your lands too.

Maxx on May 29, 2007 at 6:09 PM

Maxx on May 29, 2007 at 6:10 PM

The Dems at YearlyKos ?!? I wonder what sort of questions will get through the moderators’ filters:
- Why do you think Bush ordered the destruction of the World Trade Center?
- Will you promise to indict Bush and Cheney for War Crimes your first day in office?
- Will you end all domestic surveillance in America?
- Will you promise to take Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity and Fox News off the air?
- Are you willing to establish a new Cabinet-level department to address the important concerns of the Lesbian, Gay, Bi-Sexual and Transgender Communities?

Plus, if there are questions from the audience, there will be one which will devolve into a rambling lecture on some esoteric political concept and will include multiple uses of the words “paradigm,” “hegemonic” and possibly even “post-structutal”.

The Republicans had it easy with stupid questions. The worst they got tossed was “What do you most dislike about America?…”

Hillary’s staff must have worked very hard to come up with euphemisms for Capitalism and Sosialism that would make Capitalism sound exclusive, lonely and difficult and Sosialism sound warm and helpful.

Oh the Clinton hate mongers are gearing up to hate hate hate, Yea for hate.

I love Bill-Ohhhh (loofah boy) on Fox when he says the “hate bush crowd”. No doubt people hate Bush, may be with cause? Doha! Ya think.

However hate knows no wrath like the hate of conservatives towards democrats, especially when the last name is Clinton. I can feel the Darth Vader hate sheathing out of the Rush’s and Hannity’s and you all partisan lock steppers.

Ahaaaa nothing like people getting in touch with rage and their dark evil inner self, all focused on hating one political figure, whose main crime is (drum roll)……….being a successful Democrat. Communist!! Traitor, LIBIRALS!!! (I want Clinton to win just to hear the vitriol and hate, its so entertaining. Rush can do a rehash of his classic “X days America held hostage” with Hillery.)

Conservatives kill me. That is why I’m an independent American. I’d be to embarrassed to call my self republican or democrat.

OH NO, don’t dare criticize Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld or Gonzalez or any republican administration. However lets make fun of a very liked and successful Dem Senator who is liked by Dems and Republicans alike. She has done so well the Fear Mongers are saying she is fake!!! Really like Mitt Romney is so real, ha ha ha ha. Rudy, cross-dressing, serial adulterer who was a NOBODY before 9/11 is so real. How about McCain? Actually I like him the best of the GOP crew, but he’s got this retarded “WAR IN IRAQ FOREVER OR BUST” Bush backing philosophy.

Oh no lets put up unflattering pictures of Hillery…ha ha ha. Very mature in the face of all the problems we have.

The attack book’s against the Clinton’s with all kinds of BS and old personal attacks are coming out again. That is evil. Like the story Hillery lied about her daughter after 9/11 and jogging near the WTC story. Well that is a lie told by HIT men and woman who are liars. The statements she made and what the kid said are matter of record and clear.

It’s like people say Gore said he invented the Internet. That did not happen and it was said as joke on him during the Republican Convention. In the late 1980s, Gore introduced what was widely known as “the Gore Bill”, which was later passed as the “High Performance Computing and Communication Act of 1991″. The bill was one of the most important pieces of legislation directly affecting the expansion of the Internet. Gore never said he invented the Internet. How many of you had a Internet connection at home in 1991? yea right, Thanks Al, Democrats doing things that help people. Bush? YEA, intractable Iraq occupation mess and massive deficit and tax cuts for the rich.

In fact Gore did draft and push the “Internet

How sad you have to make stuff up. I guess that is a good sign. She has done so well you have to make it up or drag up white-water (one of the most investigated and expensive “special prosecutions” (ken star) in history) that resulted in NOTHING. Monica gate? Yea at least she was of age, consenting and the opposite sex. Republicans like it young and gay like mark Foley.

While the hypocrites where calling for Bill’s head Nut Gingrich and Tom Delay where doing their respective mistress or hookers. Family values my………….

Did you know Hillery Clinton gets high marks from everyone she works with, many Republicans, like John McCain……many say she would be a good president.

Wolfowitz: When in doubt, go to your Go-To plan, Blame the Media, The main stream media, its all their fault.

Sad pathetic ridiculous BS and a waste of time. I would worry about your GOP ticket, full of adulterers, varmint hunting flip flopper’s and cross dressing gay loving abortion having self proclaimed “security and emergency response expert” (who left his city, police and fireman totally unprepared), ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha.

The GOP got what it deserved Nov 2006 and will get a good ol can of whoop-a$$ Nov 2008, which they still deserve. I predict mass propaganda and rhetoric in Sept, where the GOP makes it sound like the draw-down (which will happen) was their plan all along.

$300 MILLION and +100 US Soldiers lives (many more wounded) EVERY MONTH for PEOPLE THAT DON’T CARE IF OUT MEN AND WOMAN DIE. SEE YA LATER. Be honest, tell the truth the Arabs are a bunch of animals and Islam is a violent religion that LOVES Death. The only reason we are there………….OIL.

Everything that went wrong was predicted and put into a CIA report before March 2003. It was ignored, like the report Condi Rice ignored, Bin Laden Determined to Attack inside the USA, before 9/11. Like the aftermath of Katrina in New Orleans. This is a field administration and a corrupt party that needs a purge. And its going to get flushed. God Bless America, FOR THE PEOPLE BY THE PEOPLE, ONE NATION UNDER GOD. God bless the founding fathers that that craft a constitution that could withstand the abuse that Bush has subjected it to under the Power Grab under the the “War on Terror” banner. That is what Hitler did, got emergency power which lead 1930’s Germany into WWII. No I am not calling Bush Hitler, I am saying war brings consolidation of power and 9/11 with fear mongering was used and abused to gain the GOP power. It back fired and that is because the Nation and People are strong and smart.

Maxx,

I just cut and pasted Social‍ist from The Monster’s comment.

What’s the name of the symbol between the “l” and the “i”?

gmcjetpilot on May 29, 2007 at 10:37 PM,

I hadn’t noticed hate or rage. There was some poking fun and humor, but nothing heated.

INC on May 29, 2007 at 10:44 PM

I see exactly what you guys are saying. I just verified the same thing. I do not understand that at all.

Maxx on May 29, 2007 at 11:39 PM

Got to test one more time : Social‍ist

Maxx on May 29, 2007 at 11:40 PM

Rick on May 29, 2007 at 11:54 PM

Communist, Marxist, Stalinist, Castroist, Chavezist, French, Green, Clintonista – if one word doesn’t work, try another. After all, they all mean the same thing.

Rick on May 30, 2007 at 12:02 AM

I favor “social list”….but HONESTLY, I left you guys in here YESTERDAY and y’alll are like a bunch of little boys rolling the “F” word around their mouths for the very first time.

The thread is a RIOT to read this morning! Y’all are so cute.;)

seejanemom on May 30, 2007 at 6:42 AM

OK, Hillarity…you first.

Pony up your wealth and convince me that this is a good idea.

Yeah… but no word quite captures Hillary like Socia-list. But I suppose that word is just too powerful for the little people to use, you need to be a web-master to use that word. After all, the Socia-list party exist all around the world, and to call someone a Socia-list could be very offensive… just as offensive as calling someone a Democrat or a Republican…. and of course those words will need to be banned next.

No word from MM and no help from Allah… the word is still banned… so creative spelling seems to be the only answer. There is a special character ASCII code in the Monsters spelling that for the moment allows it to go through. Probably won’t last long… update, it too is also being blocked.

Maxx on May 30, 2007 at 12:09 PM

It appears we can’t say “social-ism” either

Rick on May 30, 2007 at 1:55 PM

how sad

Clinton also said she would help people save more money by expanding and simplifying the earned income tax credit; create new jobs by pursuing energy independence; and ensure that every American has affordable health insurance.

Earned income tax credit is tax money paid by one American that is given to another who did not pay any taxes. That’s government authorized redistribution, right out in the open. It’s theft. And that saves money how? All it does is increase how much is taken from productive people and given to bums. The people who benefit from EIC spend it on booze, cigarettes and pr0n (and the occasional child support payment when the heat is on).

Energy independence? Hillary has voted against every single bill that has come to the Senate that even smells like it’s been near an idea for energy independence. Except maybe windmills. But certianly not nuclear powerplants, or ANWR, or reinstating offshore drilling.

And last but not least, HillaryCare v2.0

Jane, believe me I do know my history, and I know where we’re headed, it upsets me as much as anyone. I just have this personal twitch about people even thinking of offing themselves, or even jesting about it. I’m not wearing rose colored glasses, but I sincerely believe enough Americans will still do the right thing if they have someone to believe in. I sincerely believe that November 2006 saw many disenfranchised conservatives disdain the party that has ignored their base.

Ahaaaa nothing like people getting in touch with rage and their dark evil inner self, all focused on hating one political figure, whose main crime is (drum roll)……….being a successful Democrat.

If you define successful Democrat as an anti-Constitution Marxist who plans to turn this nation into the Big Collective, she is that. It isn’t hate to oppose her, it’s patriotism.

By the way, I’m not a Republican, haven’t been since 2003 when it became apparent that a few of the things you said were true. The party has betrayed it’s real base. But you do a fine role as the kettle. Or are you the pot?

For everyone else, the word SOC*IALIST has been a parser hotword for quite some time here. Entelechy let me in on the trick of replacing a character to get it through the filter. It has never occured to me why some comments got held up in moderation until she mentioned it was that word, or COMMUN*ST.

Wow, there’s a long rambling multi-topic post with RANDOM CAPITALIZATIONS, questionable spellin and grammars… nice one.

You missed out on the common use of extraneous exclamation points and/or question marks though, feel free to borrow some of mine in your next rambling post. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ??????????

Nice one claiming that this was “making stuff up” and “attacks” simply by quoting exactly what Hillary said. Since when is a quote a slanderous attack making stuff up?

Since he quoted a Democrat of course. You can’t quote Democrats, their words are an ephemeral art form, not to be recycled or reconstructed once they’re gone. Or they never mean what they say five minutes later, so they whine and complain when quoted… whichever.

I’d comment on your many off-topic comments, but really, I can’t read your rambling disjointed writing style that long without getting a migraine.
