Flight 327, I have one question......

I have one question about Flight 327 ... If the incident with 14 Syrian "musicians" was completely innocent, why was 99% of the original report redacted? What's to hide if their intentions were so innocent? Hmmm? Airlines don't want to...

I've got a question: in this day and age, why don't we have cameras on board all commercial aircraft? I mean, we don't think about the presence of video cameras at banks, convenience stores and even at Walmarts, so why would airplanes be any different? We could have these suspicious activities caught on tape.

[...] Those who care must be kept from knowing… at all costs. The Washington Times today updated its investigative report about Flight 327 (H/T HotAir), where a group of Syrian “musicians” may have conducted a dry-run for a terror act in 2004. According to the article, the Department of Homeland Security failed to properly investigate when air marshals aboard the flight observed the incident, detained suspects, and filed their report. The initial investigation into DHS’ handling of the situation led to an investigation and a 51 page report, in which all but two sentences were redacted forcing an FOIA request. An air marshal who told The Washington Times that he has been involved personally in terror probes that were ignored by federal security managers, called such behavior typical. ”Agency management was not only covering up numerous probes and dry-run encounters from Congress and other federal law-enforcement agencies, it was also hiding these incidents from their own flying air marshals,” said P. Jeffrey Black, an air marshal stationed in Las Vegas. Homeland Security officials initially denied that the complaints and blamed passengers who reported the incident to the press as behaving hysterically. However, the inspector general report shows that air marshals had the group of men under surveillance before they boarded the plane. ”Prior to boarding, one of the air marshals noticed what he later characterized as ‘unusual behavior’ by about six Middle Eastern males, who arrived at the gate together, then separated, and acted as if they did not know each other,” the report said.

The Feds won’t even build a freakin’ wall to protect us. I don’t expect them to be able to actually be able to protect in a real sense. Once again, it comes down to ordinary Americans doing the right thing!

Why did Clinton cover up the Iraq’s involvement in Oklahoma City or TWA Flight 800? The answer is pretty obvious, the United States government is and has been lying to the American people in order to prevent 1) general panic and the dramatic damage to the economy that would result. 2) Prevent any possible violent backlash against Muslim Americans. And 3) prevent American citizen from demanding that the War on Terror become a War on Islam. This is just another example of that philosophy.

It's good to see Anne Jacobsen finally get vindication for her work. I'd been following her work in Women's Wall Street since she broke the story of her experience on Flight 327.
I'll never understand why there is such resolution on the part of the gov't to own up to the true number of incidents like this... except, I guess, how glaringly it displays the incompetence of our national security efforts.

And I’ve figured out why. They think the Syrian band was a Grateful Dead cover band and this is how conservatives plan on harassing hippies in the post 9/11 world.
