Since we are talking baseball here, please allow me to go off topic. I need to vent!

Here in the New York Area on Memorial Day, none of the New York teams were playing. Not asking for a Memorial Day Double header. You would think Baseball goes with the holiday. Nooooo. Ok so it none of our local teams were playing. You would think maybe they would have a baseball marathon on tv, Nooooooo, no Fox no ESPN. What’s become of baseball. I am angry!

I think Hopper slipped the ball into Freel’s glove because he (Hopper) let that guy tag and sneak home. If Freel caught it, but was injured, maybe the guy has to go back to third?

I hope he is alright.
I’m not much for baseball, dont watch it on tv, dont listen to it on the radio either, but its fun if you are at the game. My kid loved it when we took him to a game last year. But of course, no that they have banned smoking at PNC (public not consulted) Park, I doubt I’ll be spending that much money to go see the Pirates again.

I heard it on radio. Supposedly Freel is moving everything that’s supposed to move. Sigh. Couldn’t make the Reds suck any worse….

But sounds like he’ll be OK.

Notice that Hopper, who caught the ball, slyly walks over really quick and puts the ball into Freel’s glove. :-)

The center fielder Ryan Freel had priority. Norris Hopper is a reserve outfielder who was hustling hard; he may have wanted to show that he deserves more playing time. You can’t tell whether either is saying anything; both were running hard and may not have been able to hear the other.

I still remember two years ago seeing Beltran and Mike Cameron collide in San Diego at Petco Park which was MUCH worse but that still must’ve hurt a hell of a lot.
