I shudder to think what Maureen Dowd and a million other hack pundits will do with this moronic yet irresistible omen-slash-metaphor. Click the image to watch.

My sentiments exactly!! I’m putting a bird feeder in my yard now.

yet irresistible omen-slash-metaphor

The Vice President’s leisure activities come more or less immediately to mind.

Axe on May 24, 2007 at 5:37 PM

The commentator said it all, that he wiped off the stain and continued with the presser, un-phased. Think what you will about Bush, he seems like a serene person.

huckleberry on May 24, 2007 at 5:40 PM

We have too many news hours to fill when this kind of thing makes it onto ABC news.

Bush is lucky that elephants and donkeys don’t fly.

csdeven on May 24, 2007 at 5:46 PM

Well, at least this President doesn’t have to worry about the DNA tests coming back from any substances removed from clothing.

rw on May 24, 2007 at 5:46 PM

With the ILLEGAL INVADERS situation I would crap on him too.

Birdy birdy in the sky,

Hopefully next time it will be a bald eagle, and the poop will land right on his face.

Rosie trains sparrows?

GoodBoy on May 24, 2007 at 5:52 PM

I’ve since heard that they captured said sparrow and had it sent to Gitmo for interrogation.

I’ve always considered that good luck.

mikeyboss on May 24, 2007 at 6:04 PM

Today, clarifying House Minority Leader John Boehner’s comments, American sparrows weighed in on the Immigration Reform Bill showing exactly what kind of sh*t Boehner meant.

TheBigOldDog on May 24, 2007 at 6:05 PM

So there’s a post about this silliness giving yet another opportunity to bash Bush on immigration, yet nothing about his press conference today on Iraq. Is this really the template on conservative blogs today?

Patriot33 on May 24, 2007 at 6:09 PM

Amnesty is the last straw for me, I no longer support GWB. Perhaps it was a french sparrow trying to give W a CLUE…the french are paying immigrants to leave, approx $8000 per family…why the hell would we want to pay billions to take these people in? P.S. I like the eagle comment, W deserves a big eagle poo poo…plus eagles have better aim.

Quotes of the day.

steveegg on May 24, 2007 at 6:21 PM

Yeah I suppose his immigration policy is so shocking, considering it’s been the same for the past 7 years. I’m sure we would be a lot better off with Al Gore and John Kerry…

My gosh you guys are shortsighted. Immigration isn’t the only issue in the world, and Bush is not to blame for what’s going on in congress. CONGRESS IS TO BLAME. And btw, this bill doesn’t have a chance at ever becoming law. So enough gloom and doom and hyperbole and overreactions.

Patriot33 on May 24, 2007 at 6:22 PM

Mortis–I’d heard that too.

William Amos on May 24, 2007 at 6:24 PM

Patriot33 on May 24, 2007 at 6:09 PM

I am just REALLY REALLY PISSED at Bush right now! I see this as a betrayal. Until some Iraq issue forces me off this issue I’m gonna call him EVERY DAY and voice my displeasure.

I am not going to let my support for his Iraq war policy take me off this issue. I know he is counting on his base to rally to him on the Iraq issue and just blow off the border issue. Well, NOT ME! He cannot say anything about the Iraq war I haven’t already heard. This surge is it and nothing will happen until the fall. So, I’ve got 3 or 4 months to vent about this travesty!

csdeven on May 24, 2007 at 6:25 PM

Opinionnation on May 24, 2007 at 6:20 PM

haha So Triumph works for MSNBC now probably…

As for this sparrow…does anyone doubt a couple of crows in sunglasses and earpieces took out that sparrow moment later?

First it’s Thanksgiving turkeys pecking Bush’s nether region…then it’s dive bombing barn birds.

JetBoy on May 24, 2007 at 6:27 PM

And btw, this bill doesn’t have a chance at ever becoming law.

Patriot33 on May 24, 2007 at 6:22 PM

I hope you’re right, but if you’re wrong, the time to complain will be long gone. NOW is the time to voice an opinion. A loud, racous, constant din of absolute anger ringing in their ears will remind them how we feel at every step of this process. This is how DC works. They lull us to sleep and then pass BS bills right in front of our closed eyes. NO! Not this time! And never again will I trust these SOB’s until they actually perform first.

csdeven on May 24, 2007 at 6:29 PM

and a million other hack pundits

Just like the childish ones here.

Isn’t that a sign of good luck, anyway?

Mazztek on May 24, 2007 at 6:30 PM

It was a Rovian plot to have the president’s suit dry cleaned and to dump the dirty water in the water in the New Orleans levee system!

SouthernGent on May 24, 2007 at 6:31 PM

O/T

The US Army just released photos of a cartoonish torture booklet found in an al-Qaeda safehouse. Blowtorches, electric drills, hot irons, etc. No water boarding though. I guess that’s too mean for them guys.

Someone needs to show it to McCain.

csdeven on May 24, 2007 at 6:38 PM

The bird did to W. what he is trying to do to the citizens and non-citizens alike that are LAWFULLY here in the U.S.

At one point, I would have felt sympathy for him, but given his willingness to sell out the U.S. for his friends in Mexico while totally ignoring the critical security implications of our porous borders, I just have to think this is much-deserved karma.

It is my understanding that the Prez looked up in the tree and said “go ahead and do it again - everybody else does”.

has anyone done a roundup of the lefty blogs?

i’m certain it’s a window into the intricate and grave intelligence of the progressive left:

“HAW HAWE HAW!!! TEH BIRD SHITTED ON THE CHIMP!!!”

let it not go un-noted that abc basicly threw this log on the fire.

Now is definitely the time, and I applaud the passion and activism from our side on this issue seldom seen. They definitely need to be held accountable and we must do everything we can to remind them of why they are there and who they are representing.

I just think it’s misdirected when you go after President Bush. Like I said, his misguided immigration policy has been consistent, and it will not change. Anger towards him is fruitless and counterproductive. However, our representatives in Congress, those who are supposed to do the will of the American people, are those who are betraying us and should feel our ire. Some of these Republicans in Washington have indeed betrayed us and the values of the party, and it’s unnaceptable. Go after them, not Bush.

Patriot33 on May 24, 2007 at 7:47 PM

And btw, this bill doesn’t have a chance at ever becoming law. So enough gloom and doom and hyperbole and overreactions.

Patriot33 on May 24, 2007 at 6:22 PM

Yeah, and President Bush assured us that McCain/Feingold would be struck down by the SCOTUS, while he signed it into LAW.

Saying this isn’t Bush’s fault is not accurate. He has been global-minded, pro-amnesty, anti-enforcement from day one on immigration. It wasn’t someone in Congress who called the Minutemen vigilantes, it was President Bush. He’s the one trying to get us to swallow the argument that although we’re a nation of laws, we’re also a nation of families/compassion/etc.

It’s his fault.

Freelancer on May 24, 2007 at 7:50 PM

I’d be willing to bet that was an American sparrow commenting on the illegal immigration amnesty bill.

American sparrows used to be all over the country & thrive. Then, ships from Europe brought over European sparrows. They quickly overran the native American sparrow populations and the American sparrow population has never rebounded.

So….it’s definitely a topic that the American sparrow would have a strong opinion on.

;)

JadeNYU on May 24, 2007 at 7:54 PM

Move along. Nothing to see here. Surely, the President is “used to it” by now. Seems like everyone does it.

CyberCipher on May 24, 2007 at 7:59 PM

It’s certainly more “humanizing” than Hillary’s Acid Yellow Suit Commercial.

RushBaby on May 24, 2007 at 8:18 PM

Heretofore known as the Boehner Sparrow.

Alden Pyle on May 24, 2007 at 9:45 PM

This is hilarious, and of course it would happen to Dubya. What a classic. I actually had this happen to me in the fourth grade… only it was a seagull… and he seemed to be repeatedly aiming for me while I watched some friends play tennis at Bayside Park on the last day of school. Needless to say it gave new meaning to “Head and Shoulders” (yeah, I was nailed on both). I’m tempted to say “my day was ruined!” (picture me doing it in the voice Kramer says “our day was ruined!” after telling the story of how he and Newman were spit on by Keith Hernandez and it will be funny).

RightWinged on May 24, 2007 at 10:03 PM

Probably a non-migrant sparrow.

HerrMorgenholz on May 24, 2007 at 11:14 PM
