Video: Silverstone snubs Hasselbeck after Rosie blow-up; Update: Elisabeth’s an imbecile, says … Trump

posted at 3:52 pm on May 24, 2007 by Allahpundit
Share on Facebook | printer-friendly

I know, I know, we’re insanely oversaturated with “View” posts right now. Hopefully this will be the last one for awhile given O’D’s self-imposed hiatus. But I missed this yesterday when it happened and it’s pretty egregious, enough so that Access Hollywood and fellow “View” aficionados noticed. It comes right at the beginning: big hugs for everyone, including guest host Sherri Shepherd, but none for the pregnant warmonger.

Exit question one: Is Rosie really the one who should be quitting that show? Exit question two: If and when I finally make my appearance in one of our own “View” Vents, should I snub KP when I rush out to hug MM and Mary K, just for “payback”?

Update: I knew that was nuclear war we saw the other day. So lethal is the fallout that it’s spawned a mutant Rosie/Trump alliance.

Yeah that’s pretty egregious.

Spirit of 1776 on May 24, 2007 at 3:58 PM

So while I work all day this is the type of discussion that is being broadcast for the rest of the country? These people are so deep.

Ahh the hateful liberal mind on display. Niiice.

Fixed that. This is Alicia Silverstone.

Oh yeah, who the heck would pass up a chance to hug KP? Not moi.

You’re just teasing aren’t you. Personally, I’d just be shocked to see what you look like.

Exit question one: No.

Exit question two: No. Be classier than that. Besides, any chance of just touching KP shouldn’t be passed up, IMO.

It would be in Giuliani-esque drag, natch.

Attila (Pillage Idiot) on May 24, 2007 at 4:05 PM

Well, that was rude. I’m surprised she answered EH’s questions during the interview. If I were EH, though, I probably would have given her the silent treatment. Or I would have asked her point-blank (but pleasantly) something like, “So does a lack of meat in one’s diet cause a person to become unspeakably rude, or is that just you?”

aero on May 24, 2007 at 4:06 PM

oh gawd thank goodness the snub was at the beginning of the clip sitting through those hens clucking is excruiatingly painful. exit question which one lays the egg at the end of the segment?

Kevin43 on May 24, 2007 at 4:07 PM

Exit observation: Piffle on KP, if I were hugging MKH, you’d have to pry me off with the jaws of life.

I mean that in a wholesome way, of course.

Enrique on May 24, 2007 at 4:12 PM

I’d say Alicia’s moratorium on living matter includes the accessory between her ears.

Kid from Brooklyn on May 24, 2007 at 4:19 PM

Alicia Silverstone?? The same moron who once said:

“No other species drinks milk from any other species. It’s completely mental,” admonishes the die-hard vegan. “Little baby calves, once they grow up they stop drinking their mother’s milk, just like we stop. You would never go drink your mom’s milk now, it wouldn’t happen.”

A snub from her is its own reward.

stevezilla on May 24, 2007 at 4:20 PM

Now back to the idiot VeggieGirl stuff…

Exit question one: Is Rosie really the one who should be quitting that show?

Seroiusly. Hasselbeck is past the point of diminishing returns on that show, but is she ready for Fox?

She can’t breathe. Someone help her!

Kid from Brooklyn on May 24, 2007 at 4:27 PM

Exit Question One: No. Elizabeth should be the one quitting. Let Rosie, and the rest of the liberals on the stage, have their show, so that the world can gawk at how insane these women are.

Rush used to say (maybe he still does, I haven’t listened in forever), that not all liberals should be done away with. Like communists, we need to keep a few around, just so that we always remember how ridiculous they are. I say, let Elizabeth leave, and let the weirdos continue on display.

Question 2: KP is pretty cool. She isn’t in the same liberal league as the nuts on The View.

Oh, and that was pretty blatant on Silverstone’s part.

nailinmyeye on May 24, 2007 at 4:28 PM

Alicia is also a vegetarian, maybe that is what makes her so clueless.

Hilts on May 24, 2007 at 4:34 PM

Exit question one: Is Rosie really the one who should be quitting that show?

Don’t care. The level of discourse (political anyway) on the View is so low to begin with that it wouldn’t make a difference unless they replaces Rosie and Joy with Michelle and MKH … and that ain’t gonna happen.

Exit question two: If and when I finally make my appearance in one of our own “View” Vents, should I snub KP when I rush out to hug MM and Mary K, just for “payback”?

No – KP’s not a moonbat and you don’t want to pass up that opportunity, even if it’s just a quick hug. If ever a case demanded putting politics aside, that would be it.

Kensington on May 24, 2007 at 4:39 PM

I think this is less a matter of Alicia being “liberal” as of her being desparate for publicity to save a long-struggling career that never recovered from Batman & Robin. As Dennis Miller once said, “Dead Career Walking.”

No other species wear clothes. They don’t flush their waste away, take baths with soap, brush their teeth, use electricity or bury their dead. They don’t cook food, though many certainly eat meat.

Where to draw the line Silverstone? Only at the convenient animals policies, or what?

Esthier on May 24, 2007 at 4:53 PM

Exit question one: Is Rosie really the one who should be quitting that show?

No, she should be publicly fired and mocked, and every idiotic thing she said should be attacked. (as I noted in one of the other threads, why with all of this coverage is no one pointing out that the actual death toll is roughly 1/10 of the bogus 650k number Rosie used, and that the civilian deaths are coming at the hands of the enemy, while we lose people trying so hard not to inflict civilian casualties.)

Exit question two: If and when I finally make my appearance in one of our own “View” Vents, should I snub KP when I rush out to hug MM and Mary K, just for “payback”?

Yes, if she’s wearing leather shoes.

Anyway, I’m still depressed over what I know the Truther debate (if they have it) will turn in to.

As one closing thought, thanks again for the video where we get to see how kind pregnancy has been to Elisabeth’s chesticles.

DINGDINGDING We have a winner!

The vegans of the world would counter with humans are the only species that contemplates evil. Of course that’s because we’re the only species given complex reasoning and free will. And just to stir the pot, only one species was ever granted dominion over the others by God. We’re no better or worse at handling that job than any other responsibility our Creator has given us.

OMG, I like *SO* forgot how to breathe!

The Ugly American on May 24, 2007 at 5:29 PM

There was a study just released that babies fed a vegan diet die. In fact, even if their mothers are vegans they don’t produce all the vitamins needed for a baby to thrive. One vegan couple were just convicted of starving their baby to death by restricting it to a vegan diet. So my observation is that we carnivorous conservatives are never gonna face an army of vegans because they will kill themselves off naturally.

And really, if Elizabeth is pissing off the wackydoo vegan celebrities by standing up for America, she’s making all the right enemies.

Oh. My. God. Check this one out:

I tuned in today to see the episode on “Loose Change” and I find it very interesting that there was a sudden press conference in which Bush continued to ramble on for an hour about how we needed to keep doing what we are doing in the middle east…To be honest, I wouldn’t put it past this administration to pull something sneaky like that.

Riiight. In a panic, Karl Rove schedules a press conference for “shrub” to distract everyone from the Loose Brains Crew’s appearance on The View.

John from WuzzaDem on May 24, 2007 at 6:26 PM

Trump says Elisabeth “is one of the dumber people on television” and “an imbecile” for supporting the war in Iraq — and even crowned Rosie the winner of that feud. Not able to leave it at that, Trump had to make it known that he still thinks O’Donnell is “a very self destructive person.”

Trump is just mad because his show got cancelled. He is just another unhinged liberal who can’t help himself. He loves to get in the middle of everything. However, he is a little more tolerable than Ro, but just by a hair (and not one that’s combed over).

Was watching a religious program during which the preacher (white) recounted to his mostly-black congregation a converstion that he had had with some other white preachers.

The first preacher had grown up around black people–and was married to a black woman–and the others wanted to know what it was like. The first preacher happened to mention that girls got into fights a lot.

The others were aghast that he didn’t step in to try to break any of the fights up. The preacher countered theatrically with this:

“Have you ever seen two black women fight? Such violence!”

I can vouch for that.

As a black woman, I hereby grant you anmesty, Mr. Tips, for your remark which will keep you from having to attend rehab. You’re welcome. ;-)

He’s a bitter old man that is cranky that he has a baby again. He’s also bitter because he wants his business to flow without any interruption and how dare we not cow tow to the terrorists to give him a little more time to make a little more money. What a fake haired peckerhead. You also see what a major peckerhead is if you watch the documentary on how he built his empire..let’s put it this way….he would not be as successful as he is today..if it weren’t for his Ex, Ivana. She did a Ton..a ton more than what people think if they didn’t watch that.

People can say what they want about Elisabeth but she did her best when thrown curve balls out of no where..and finally stood up to a huge bully. It’s unfair to call her names as she didn’t ask to become a political pundit…with the likes of joy and rosie thrown at her.

bawbawa is the biggest loser ever out of this….she is the one that is the true idiot for not knowing what she was going to get with the rosie timebomb..even little ole me could see that shit coming from many many miles away. Don’t these people even pretend to do background checks?

Day after day of Rosie postings, I was beginning to think this was a “The View” fansite.

Jesus guys, don’t you have anything better to post?

Let’s hope that with Rosie’s hiatus, your fascination with the view will be as short as her attention span when on a diet.

Trump is proof that being on TV eats away at your IQ like a flesh-eating bacteria. For a guy as rich as he is, you’d think he’d be 100% conservative since its the conservative policies that allow him to make even more money; the liberal policies of the Democrats would have him paying through the nose on taxes, and have his companies earning less money over all.

They say the camera adds 10 lbs. It must be 10 lbs of unadulterated stupid.

No other species drinks milk from any other species. It’s completely mental,” admonishes the die-hard vegan. “Little baby calves, once they grow up they stop drinking their mother’s milk, just like we stop. You would never go drink your mom’s milk now, it wouldn’t happen.”

“Die-hard vegan.” That’s classic.
Instapundit this week linked to an article about vegan parents starving out their babies by idiotically giving them soy milk and apple juice. (one case is discussed, but it isn’t the only one) It’s too bad the innocent babies die from the actions of such complete morons.
Since when are soy milk and apple juice natural? Soy is heavily processed TO MAKE IT EDIBLE and PALATABLE. Apple juice is also an overly processed food – a product of industrialized society.
Vegans care more about their philosophy than the health of their own chidlren. Murder is the correct charge.
Alicia is not the one to claim how good she feels. She looks horrible. Her face has sunken, her hair is straggly. Let the observer judge. Her faculties are clearly not up to the task.
Instapundit mentioned this week that a former vegan girlfriend was diagnosed at Cornell U Health Services with kwashiorkor. My jaw dropped, how did anyone at Cornell Health Services recognize the brittle hair, the deteriorating skin, the overall edema of a kwashiorkor case? That’s hard-core severe malnutrition, worse than plain old marasmus – the classic starvation wasting – skin and bones. Kwashiorkor is nastier. The lack of proteins nd amino acids necessary for the construction and repair of the body are missing. The body begins to fall apart, and it’s harder to recover a wasted, degenerated body suffering from kwashiorkor than a starving body with marasmus. At least the marasmus bodies are still hungry and will eat if food is available. Kwashiorkor sufferers become listless and their intestines cannot handle what food is given them. Very delicate, and slow, long term care is needed to pull them back from the brink.
Mental illness is normally the only reason a person would go so against the body’s natural self-care. But what is it when celebrities praise each other for such devastating craziness? Passive aggressiveness? Flattery comes out of hatred, not out of love.
If the woman doesn’t even have the sense to feed herself properly why should it be a surprise that she has no grace, manners or consideration, either?
It all just makes Elizabeth look better and better. Gracious, and full of vigor, good color, pretty clothes, cheerful colors, and new life. Hmmm. The View made a very big mistake. Over-the-hill menopausal women, plus a barren “spinster” of sorts, has-beens, the past, versus Elizabeth who represents LIFE and the future.
There’s a surprising amount of symbolism in all this.
