Rudy is right on terrorism. After all, if we aren’t safe, what do we have? Nothing. We need someone who is tough and isn’t afraid to do the right thing.
A Guiliani-Romney ticket sounds pretty good to me.

He’s the best candidate on the most important issue – dealing with the threat of Islamic terrorism. I just hope the social cons see past the petty differences and give him a chance to crush whoever the Democrats nominate.

By “petty differences” I mean, mainly, abortion. Roe v. Wade isn’t getting overturned, no matter who gets elected president, and no matter how many conservative judges get appointed to the bench. Rudy is right – the best way to fight abortion is to convince women to stop having them.

There is very little the president can do on most of the social issues that core Republicans are using to kill Rudy’s candidacy. Look at George W. Bush – a deeply religious man who was on the right side of all the socially conservative issues, with a Republican majority for most of his 2 terms. What, exactly, has he done for social conservatism? Gay marriage is closer to reality than ever, and abortion is as much a “right” as it was the day after Roe v. Wade. Social conservatives were looking for Mr. Right instead of looking for the right man for the job, and the results could hardly have been worse.

The Presidency is the wrong office to pursue the socially conservative agenda. If you want to change the values and moral behavior of our society, maybe you need to elect better priests. If you want to actually start winning the war on terror, you need to nominate Rudy Giuliani for president.

Rudy’s right on terrorism and would be an uber candidate if his socially liberal domestic policies didn’t get in the way for many.

GWB and illegal immigration taught me that we can’t afford to trust a President to represent the majority of his people after he wins our vote and gets in office if his personal feelings go the other way. Likewise that a President who is tough on terror but weak on trade imbalances and other domestic issues can be as disasterous as our enemies if by no other reason than public perception and support.

If Rudy gets the nod I suppose I’ll have to hold my nose and give him my vote even though there is little difference between him and Hillary / Obama / Edwards on abortion, illegal immigration, and gay marriage. The terrorism issue is too strong to sit this one out but it will not sit well with me.

I like Rudy. He is at his best when he’s speaking to people. Unlike ¿fred? his words have substance. Meaning. Feeling. Meat. They resonate well with most americans.

I’m Pro-Life and I am soooooooooooo sick of people asking him about abortion. We all know where he stands as he’s been forced to talk about for about 94760937540697 hours the past few weeks.

Gotta love Rudy. After listening to him talk, you just come away feeling good IF he was to get the nomination. Very articulate. I think him Romney and Thompson (if he runs) all seem like excellent candidates.

I love Rudy’s little jab on Dems for not debating on Fox. If the Dems can’t handle being on Fox News, how the hell can they handle real issues in the world like terrorism?

I disagree with Rudy on several issues but the main issue I care about he is on the right side.

I still would pick Fred over Rudy but think Rudy and every other Republican (real Republican not Ron Paul) is 100 times better than the best democrat.
