Video: Rosie curses Fox News, insults Elisabeth, calls Carter “Christ-like”

posted at 4:30 pm on May 21, 2007 by Allahpundit

An instant classic, destined to be chosen for audio commentary on the inevitable DVD box set. In the span of about eight minutes (whittled here to 4:30), big Ro compares peanut farmer turned terrorist apologist Jimmy Carter to the Christian messiah, comes to the brink of tears in defending herself from criticism by those $@#%s at Fox News, reiterates that she doesn’t want any more American soldiers in Iraq to die “at the hands of a Republican administration,” and angrily insists that she’s not accusing U.S. troops of terrorism — although, with hundreds of thousands of Iraqis allegedly dead, clearly someone’s been terrorizing them. Then, when Elisabeth tries to probe her a bit on the last point, she accuses her of being stupid, driving her to the brink of tears.

Barbara finally wades in to provide clarity, distinguishing “terrorists” from “jihadists,” the latter of whom, she says, aren’t necessarily Muslim. Awesome.

Exit question: Anyone able to read Rosie’s lips during the bleeped part? I can’t make heads or tails of it.

Update: According to Watching the View, it’s “no matter what you say on your sh***y cable news shows…”

Update: Ah, the crankiness explained.

I missed the part of the Bible where it said Jesus was a peanut farmer…..

Face it, Jumping Jimmy “christlike” Carter is part of the reason we have to BE in Iraq killing terrorists.

In the grand scheme, the liberals and their toadies CAUSE the problems that the world has to deal with, and then they sit back and bitch about the world having to deal with what they have wrought…

So when we killed hundreds of thousands of Germans in WWII, we were… terrorists? Come on Rosie, teach us. You know, since you apparently have all the authority in the world to be an expert on everything and anything.

Seems to me that in 1979 when Carters balls were in a vault somewhere beneath the White House, there were MANY, MANY, people warning that if we did not jump ugly with Iran, we would be dealing with an emboldened terrorist threat in 20 years. The left has created the modern day terrorist with their foriegn policy blunders over the years. Vietnam, Somalia, etc, etc, etc. And now they want to make the same mistakes all over again.

As if I needed another reminder of why I never watch “The View.”

I like Elizabeth; she’s pretty, and like conservative women in general a credit to her gender. But watching her trying to engage Rosie on that program is like watching a poodle trying to engage a rhinocerous by nipping at its ankles while it ponderously wallows about and bellows.

Elizabeth: “Yip, yip, yip, yip!”
Rosie: “I hate George Bush!”
Audience: “Woo-hoo!!”

Elizabeth: “Yip, yip, yip, yip!”
Rosie: I hate Fox news!”
Audience: “Woo-hoo!!”

Elizabeth: “Yip, yip, yip, yip!”
Rosie: “I hate Republicans!”
Audience: “Woo-hoo!!”

About the only thing I can think of after watching that video clip is, “Give me back those five minutes!”

I always find when watching these View clips, that the people I get most angry at are the members of the audience. They applaud the most ridiculous things on this show. I guess that’s why they paid for seats though, so it makes sense.

Elisabeth’s the only pretty one on this show.

PS. how come it was OK to go into Bosnia and Kosovo when they never attacked us? Oh right, Clinton was president then.
