And it’s not surprising that many of you seem to know more about small aircraft behavior than an NFL player does. However, it is rather condescending to riducule their relatively subdued reaction to the incident. He’s a football player, not a pilot.

Let’s see one of you bust through the hole in a goal-line stand attempt. No, I couldn’t do it either.

I’m not saying this wouldn’t be scary, but after watching Mythbusters, I’m confident that the old “everything getting sucked out of the plane” fear is nothing but a myth.

Agreed… the door coming open is, certainly, no big deal. However, you can’t fault someone for taking what appears to be the plane falling apart in mid-air as a big deal. If they intentionally opened the door, that would be one thing… but they didn’t. As far as they knew, it could just as easily have been the bolts holding on the wings that went next.

About what’s best to wear on this flight, boxers or briefs, my answer is: Depends.

Now THAT is funny. Injecting an unhealthy obsession with and need to turn everything to politics is NOT funny.

What on earth do Ron Paul or Keith Olberman have to do with a door coming off a plane in Africa? I find the need to inject petty and unfunny political jibes into absolutely anything and everything you–the collective you– see to be quite frightening. I’ve pretty much written off the HotAir comments as a place to find intelligent conservative thought–it reads more like Kos or something nowdays–but geez.

At the risk of acknowledging Olberman another time more than he deserves, Olberman would probably have tied this into a rant against George W. Bush, Michelle Malkin, the United States Government, the Military, Christians, Pro-lifers, and so on.

Ha. They were the very picture of calm compared to what it would have been like had I been on the plane. I hate flying if everything goes right.

I’m sure these guys emptied the drink cart when the plane was on the ground.
