By the time this bill becomes law (and it will) you might as well forget about anything being in it about securing the border or enforcing our immigration laws and you had better bet that the timelines on the path to citizenship will be greatly shortened with no fines or returning home. Nobody will be enforcing our laws against those who refuse to sign up for amnesty either. The scary part isn’t the illegal Hispanic workers however, think of all the Middle Eastern visa overstays, border walkers that will be legal and then tell me that anyone involved in this is interested in the security of our nation or the GWOT. Several of the Fort Dix Six would be legally here under this bill. We’re witnessing the beginnings of the death throes of America and I doubt there is a damned thing we can do for it.

Isn’t this amnesty a violation of equal protection?

If so…

Who don’t GOP think tanks who oppose it start up a class action lawsuit against the Federal Govt on behalf of all legal immigrants and citizens.

If President Bush is forwarding a “North American Union,” it seems he’s doing the Americans a favor. Neither the U.S. nor Mexico is keeping up in population and total fertility with either the muslim countries as a group or with India. I don’t pretend to know that the U.S. can annex Mexico while preserving its own present regime; however, if we imagine the two countries were successfully integrated today, the resulting country would have a population of 400 million people and, by my estimate, total fertility of about 2.2. It would still be puny, and getting punier, in comparison with the Dar al-Islam and India.

Thank you daviddunn for your post. Your’s is the reason I want Newt to run, as he has proposed the same. No new laws, just enforce the ones we already have.

My neighborhood is an example. My subdivision was built and zoned as “single family homes.” Yet the Mexican invasion started about five years ago. They move in homes with multiply families, converting garages and building on rooms. We have tried several times, just to have the zoning law enforced. No luck. Housing prices have gone down and we feel stuck.

The same has happened in the surrounding area. Shops and grocery stores have closed to have a “Spanish only” take its place. I’ve gone inside some of these stores just to be stared back as if I’m the one invading.
