Newt’s funny one-liner: “Well, the larger white-haired animal is me, I’m Newt, and the smaller white-haired animal is a polar bear named Knut.”

I guess Knut lost all his cuteness; otherwise, AP would’ve put this one up with the standard “lethal cuteness alert”.

Haha, I knew you’d come through on this one! I don’t know why this is that hilarious, but it is:
I think it’s just funny at how famous this damn bear became simply because it’s saviors wanted it killed.
And sense I can’t leave politics out of much, I have to note that despite decades of calls for adding them to the endangered species list, Polar Bear populations have gone from 5,000 to 25,000 in the past 50 years. Damn you global warming!

steve, in your eagerness to bash Allah you fail to notice that he didn’t write this. Womp. Womp. Womp.

Don’t you mean Cewt? Or Kute?
Mazztek on May 17, 2007 at 10:26 PM
It’s Ian, and he’s just jaded.
Mazztek on May 17, 2007 at 10:28 PM
Oh, and since I through global warming in to this (not as a threadjack, I think my point was totally relatable), I would now like to briefly threadjack to beg for a global warming thread so I can bitch about the fact that outside of one weekend, the weather up here has SUCKED this year. Today I don’t think we broke 45F! It’s mid May!!! Damn you global warming!
(Okay, I got it out of my system, guess I don’t need a new thread)

Ja, Newt and Knut, together are cute. Sehr gut.
Entelechy on May 17, 2007 at 10:37 PM
I was wondering when Newt would meet his newer namesake in Germany. True, in a few months Knut won’t be so friendly, that’s nature.

Thank you Ian. Finally a Knut post!!!
When AllahPundit was on vacation, on CNN’s main page was a video story about panda porn. The words ‘panda porn’ were used in the link. I thought AP infiltrated CNN and was sending us a message. I sent a tip by e-mail to HotAir letting them know that I located AP. It had to be AP sending us a message. It had to…
HotAir didn’t link to the video and give away AP’s position. That was probably best.
I appreciate all of the hard work all of you do at HotAir to keep me informed about the state of the world. But I also really appreciated the Panda posts and the videos of robots doing pelvic thrusts.
Thanks to all of you!

I live in the most southern part of Canada, below Detroit Michigan. I cut the lawn today in a very thick sweater and saw people uptown in winter jackets with toques.
Global warming doesn’t scare me.
Canadian Infidel on May 17, 2007 at 10:50 PM
Awwww.
Both”Newts” are smiling.
The little bear must be a Republican.
annoyinglittletwerp on May 17, 2007 at 10:52 PM
Yeah, my mom told me that my stepfather was thinking about mowing the lawn today and I said he better bundle up.. it’s December weather out there!
I WISH global warming was real… but sadly it’s not. And if it were real, the proponents would be making it worse (not just because they fly all over the globe to pump it). Methane is up to 40 times more potent of a greenhouse gas than Carbon, and up to 30% of it comes from trees.
Back to the point though, I really wish there was some global warming. It’s too bad I work from home, because I can’t make a significant carbon footprint! I do want one of those “my carbon footprint is bigger than yours” t-shirts, but I’d be lying. As much of a mocker of global warming as I am, I’m actually one of the greenest citizens. Either way, I probably will get one of those shirts at some point, but I fear people are too stupid to get it and will think I’m some activist on the “green” side.

Oh, and I was in a winter jacket today too Canadian Infidel, what else could I wear in low to mid 40s temps? Granted it’s warmer than the 2 months (or whatever it was) of single digits to 20s we had in January and February this year, but 40s are 40s… that’s winter. I just bought a kayak a couple weeks ago and I don’t know if I’ll be able to use it until July (if I’m lucky)… Look at Lake Champlain’s temps. Granted, I knew what I was getting in to moving back up here from Tennessee, but I think this is getting a little ridiculous. We had one nice weekend, but now we’re praying for the day we even hit 70 again. I got an air conditioner and have yet to take it out of the box, and am tempted to return it to Costco (they take everything back… a little tip for anyone who may not know… they’ve tightened policies a bit, but you used to be able to use something even 10 years and return it for any reason)
RightWinged on May 17, 2007 at 11:42 PM
Ignore the Global Warming Winter folks, the AlGore cannot be wrong. Cute bear BTW, ya know they all died due to not so brisk sales of AlGore’s carbon credits.
Buzzy on May 18, 2007 at 12:15 AM
It’s too bad the “better off dead” crowd isn’t shouted down on the abortion issue like with this polar bear. Too bad unborn children aren’t cute and cuddly, there never would have been legalized abortion.

Global warming would be great…. then I wouldnt have to get laid off in the winter. Not many people riding motorcycles in the snow. BTW RightWinged, if you are in Burlington, hope you catch Quinn and Rose on the radio, my “home town” (adopted home that is) morning show now somewhat syndicated.
mrfixit on May 18, 2007 at 12:28 AM
You misunderstood me; I wasn’t bashing AP. I was bashing the cuteness factor that Knut doesn’t have anymore.
steveegg on May 18, 2007 at 2:20 AM
I am in Burlington (Winooski actually, but I could spit across the river and have it land in Burlington… okay, the river is a little big, but I could… maybe throw a baseball across and have it land in Burlington), but I have not heard the show… It seems to actually not be local though? I do however remember them mentioned in the Kansas tornado situation, and for the record, I believe their first account over all the CYA we heard after what they published.

Sorry, reading my last post I see how it was kinda confusing.Their radio show is based in Pittsburgh, where I am, what I meant was that they now have an affiliate station in Burlington. Not sure if its FM or AM though, you could check thier website to find out, it is http://www.warroom.com. And yes, they are the ones Bryan here talked to about the Kansa/Sebelious story. (And they they still stick by their source, even after getting legel threats from the DNC)

It’s not “Ka-newt” it’s “Knewt”. Get it right Newt!
