What do they have? A total of 8 pics of ¿freddie boy? and they keep recycling them? And that song? Sickening!

The ¿fred? groupie mentality is showing signs of pathetic desperation now that the field has clearly passed him and his fake red pickup, broke down, on the road to the nomination.

csdeven on May 16, 2007 at 2:02 AM

“Triumph of the Will” it ain’t…but that’s a good thing

liberrocky on May 16, 2007 at 2:03 AM

Fred! Are You Listening! Please Make A Decision NOW on whether you are going to run for president or not. We need you, we want you, you are the best candidate since Ronald Regan - but if you are going to run you need to make a decision now!

omegaram on May 16, 2007 at 2:04 AM

PS: Nice pic of Rudy.

Alert Bill Maher. I think that I like Fred in a way that is a little ghey!

liberrocky on May 16, 2007 at 2:09 AM

Yup…I’m a fairy for fred

liberrocky on May 16, 2007 at 2:10 AM

It’s too late for Fred!. He should’ve thrown his name in before now. Too bad. And what’s up with Newt waiting until September to decide?!?! Newt is probably unelectable anyway, but Fred! had a real chance. Too bad he procrastinated for so long. He’s out.

thedecider on May 16, 2007 at 2:13 AM

Why you say that?

liberrocky on May 16, 2007 at 2:15 AM

Fred! are you in or out? C’mon! (in my best Gob Bluth imitation).

Mallard T. Drake on May 16, 2007 at 2:16 AM

What’s that sound? Kind of a glaaackkk sound? Oh, I think it’s Allah vomiting.

I don’t understand this push to get him to declare. He’s doing great and getting far more publicity than if he were up there on the stage.

Come on guys, true love waits!

see-dubya on May 16, 2007 at 2:18 AM

Come on guys, true love waits!

This is beyond love. I am like a hair band groupie.

liberrocky on May 16, 2007 at 2:24 AM

Anybody that doesn’t realize that he has already decided is just kidding themselves. He told you all that he was going to run his campaign in a new way.
All the “jump in now” arguments have been dealt with here and elsewhere. There is no reason to make his announcement right away and many very good reasons to wait a bit longer.
It’s fun for me to play cheerleader but I don’t delude myself with the idea that I know better than he, what is the right way to pursue the Office. I’m looking forward to the extra publicity that will accrue from his defying the “conventional wisdom”.

Still enjoyed the song…..

liberrocky on May 16, 2007 at 2:24 AM

That’s funny. :-)

I see the ¡FRED! groupies like this.

csdeven on May 16, 2007 at 2:33 AM

Rudy, McCain, Mitt!, and all the rest will CRUCIFY ¿freddie boy? (IF he runs) on all his fakeries and poor Senate performance, JUST because he refused to earn his stripes with the rest of them.

csdeven on May 16, 2007 at 2:36 AM

Yep, its shlt or get off the pot time for Fred!

Tell us now dammit!!

Sammy316 on May 16, 2007 at 2:37 AM

That’s funny. :-)
csdeven on May 16, 2007 at 2:33 AM

Credit where credit’s due see-dubya’s line was way funnier

liberrocky on May 16, 2007 at 2:39 AM

Once Fred! and Newt announce the only one that will be left standing from the troup out now is Rudy. If for nothing less than the fact that Rudy is the choice of those that do not think that a conservative-conservative can win. The only thing that worries me is that the conservative republican vote will be 60% and Rudy will pull a clinton and win the nomination with 40%. This is why I demand run off elections for everything if the first winner doesn’t get 51% or more. I also demand that all the bloggers get together and have a Net Debate for the parties with panel members from all major blogs, and both sides at that. I further demand that my pizza be here in less than 30 minutes not the 45 it’s been for the last few years. I mean seriously, what’s up with pizza delivery?

- The Cat

P.S. Fred! ‘08, say it fast enough and you’re saying Freight. McCain’s straight talk express is gonna get hit by a freight train! and with that I go to bed.

MirCat on May 16, 2007 at 3:09 AM

Campaigning from afar. And he’s got the accent already.

Kini on May 16, 2007 at 3:20 AM

don’t you see what’s going on here? He’s going to make us beg and beg… then he’ll be assured a crushing victory… right now I’m just plain sick over who’s being offered up… I haven’t been this depressed about politics since, I found out about term limits and that Ronald Reagan wouldn’t be president for ever… sigh… I miss you Ron…

Kaptain Amerika on May 16, 2007 at 3:23 AM

Hmm. Would you say that was sung with a drawl? Or a twang?
Either way Allahpundit is gonna be appalled by the accent aksin(t) and be other ways unimpressed.

Stephen M on May 16, 2007 at 3:31 AM

Alert Bill Maher. I think that I like Fred in a way that is a little ghey!

Stephen M on May 16, 2007 at 3:31 AM

The truth is, I have hidden DNA evidence that is was actually Allahpundit who was singing.

MirCat on May 16, 2007 at 4:07 AM

I’m a Fred Man, but, Jesus Christ and Sam and Dave, this is corny. Oh, it’s also terrible.

Kos will love it.

james hooker on May 16, 2007 at 6:38 AM

Fred/Newt ticket. It would be a sweep. Newt has way more experience and Fred has the persona. The two would rule side by side and complement each other well. They are both of the persuasion that they would tell the detractors to pound sand (unlike some other Republicans we know) and rather do what they think is best for our country. And I too, believe Fred has already announced, he’s just to subtle for most folks to realize it.

rayvet on May 16, 2007 at 6:56 AM

He’s a smart guy. He knows exactly what he’s doing.

Yeah it’s a corny fan song, but it wasn’t Fred that made it, obviously just some c&w fans of his.

It’s a nice song, it’s well sung, why expect more from it?

Aylios on May 16, 2007 at 7:08 AM

Hey James Hooker, if the vid’s corny, blame me; it’s my first iMovie slapped together in about 2 hours while the walls turned blue because I had almost no idea of what I was doing.

The audio is very well-sung, as Aylios noted. Close your eyes if you have to.

I don’t understand this push to get him to declare. He’s doing great and getting far more publicity than if he were up there on the stage.

Agreed, See-Dub. As long as Fred officially holds off, the talking heads shows can have him on without appearing to favor an official candidate. He also can continue to write columns for Townhall and other media outlets as well as guest host the Paul Harvey show.

Once he declares, all of the free airtime goes away. Along with the kid-glove treatment too.

Fred has the best of all worlds right now. He’s got a following, he’s polling better than several of the candidates, he has unfettered access to the media on his terms, and he has the luxury of seeing the other candidates positions on a host of issues with no pressure on him.

Apart from the money thing, he should wait as long as he can.

BacaDog on May 16, 2007 at 7:30 AM

Guys. Guys. Guys.:
Fred! is running.
His L&O contract is up in what…two weeks?
Whaddya wanna’ bet he makes it offcial right after that.
Patience, Children.
Patience.

annoyinglittletwerp on May 16, 2007 at 7:38 AM

Fred! is in. Don’t sweat it.

Tom: I liked the vid, and the song is awesome. You wanna see bad, check out one of my PowerPoint presentations. Kudos to you for doing the movie. I wouldn’t know where to begin—and that goes for most of the posters here whether they want to admit it or not!

IrishEi on May 16, 2007 at 7:47 AM

!Fred knows what he is doing, and as far as Newt, maybe he just knows he can’t get the top slot so why waste the time and money? Looks like he is going to fish for the VP slot with someone. Hopefully with !Fred.

/In bed with !Fred.

mojowire on May 16, 2007 at 7:49 AM

Damn song’s been running thru my mind all night and it’s not half bad. Decent vid too Tom, thanks.

I was living in Tennessee when he tommyhawked the guvner. Lord it’ll be sweet to see him in that ovally thing.

james hooker on May 16, 2007 at 7:57 AM

While watching that pathetic “debate” last night, all I could think of is Fred…where are ya?

lynnv on May 16, 2007 at 8:13 AM

Rumor has it that Fred! will announce in June. Which is still half a year earlier than anyone ought to announce, IMHO.

I only wonder how many candidates are going to announce for ‘12 before Fred! announces for ‘08.

Pablo on May 16, 2007 at 8:32 AM

I’m hoping Fred runs for the presidency. A buddy and I were talking about why he hasn’t thrown his hat in the ring yet. He put it this way. An older bull and a younger bull were sitting on a hill top looking at some cows in the field below. The younger bull said let’s run down there and get one of those cows. The older bull said let’s walk down and get them all. Fred’s the kind of man that would be the one who could win the presidency by spending the least amount of money.

KCtheKat on May 16, 2007 at 8:43 AM

I have an idea, since we are including people in presidential polls WHO AREN’T EVEN CANDIDATES, lets include Reagan and Lincoln and see who leads in the polls then.

Jeeze! As it stands, ¿fred?, Reagan, and Lincoln all have equal chances at getting the republican nomination.

csdeven on May 16, 2007 at 8:46 AM

All these debates are doing is showing the gap between the viable candidates and TRUE conservatives. Fred knows what he’s doing. The current fund-raising cycle will be over soon…anyone that knows anything about how our political system works knows this always plays a factor in announcements…the next cycle will be over in September.

DCJeff on May 16, 2007 at 8:53 AM

Dread Pirate Roberts VI on May 16, 2007 at 9:17 AM

csdeven on May 16, 2007 at 8:46 AM

To be as reasoned as you usually are…when Fred comes up you turn all emotionally bitter, snarky and unthinking.

IF you think that Mitt or McCain are in for the long haul, you’re the one who’s lost it. As stated above, once Newt and Fred enter, it’s over for Mitt…and soon over for McCain. I believe that the nom will either be Fred or Rudy. Simple as that. And I’m okay with either, but prefer Fred.

Oh, and the comparison to the dead Lincoln or Reagan…That is totally idiotic even from you.

tickleddragon on May 16, 2007 at 10:26 AM

With apologies to Chicago…

America needs you
Freddie Thompson
Freddie could you please declare?
Things are looking bad
I know you must be mad
To see what kind of men
Want to run the land you love

America’s wondering
How we got here
Freddie all we get is lies
With airbags in our cars
No smoking in the bars
From men who’ve sold us out
To get themselves a piece of power

We’d love to hear you speak your mind
In plain and simple ways
Call a spade a spade
———-

Oops. That’s all Sharpton and Jackson would need to call him a racist.

I’ll have to work on this

The Monster on May 16, 2007 at 10:37 AM

Thanks… I enjoyed the video…

and the sentiment behind it.

That it was done by a blogger… with very limited resources shows what can happen this election cycle… the people once again can have a voice that won’t get out produced and out screamed by the slick add campaigns…

Romeo13 on May 16, 2007 at 10:37 AM

Jeeze! As it stands, ¿fred?, Reagan, and Lincoln all have equal chances at getting the republican nomination.

csdeven on May 16, 2007 at 8:46 AM

Sounds like youv’e got a little Fred! envy goin’ here. Whats wrong, afraid he might actually WIN?! Apparently you people have never been to an auction or played much poker, not to mention run a marathon. You don’t go balls to the wall all at once. As previously stated, Fred! has the best of all worlds right now, let the boy run with it. Patience, patience, BANG! You ship asplode.

serenity on May 16, 2007 at 10:43 AM

cs, you’re losing it, man. Take a deep breath, let it out, take another one, hold it in. There you go. You can let it out now.

Since we’re all talking about Fred!, it might behoove you to just weigh the facts before the blather begins. As it’s been pointed out time and again, this man has garnered media attention for free — far more than any candidate who is blasting through their contributions so far. Fred! is in, he’s just playing the game his way. And I, for one, like his way better than anything I’ve seen from the official candidates.

omegaram on May 16, 2007 at 2:04 AM

No, No, No, No.

He is doing everything right, right now. Look at the media attention he is getting. How much would that cost? He is running without having to raise money. If you want to see him run, don’t pressure him to get in the race while he can give weekly radio address’ for FREE! Genius.

Bill C on May 16, 2007 at 12:44 PM

see-dubya on May 16, 2007 at 2:18 AM

“But does an orgy?” csdeven asks…

On a serious note, see-dubya, thanks for providing a pivoting thought against csdeven’s obnoxious ranting (just on this topic).

Pablo is right, as he so often is - June of ‘07 will change much, not only from/for Fred, but for all the candidates, from both sides.

Many of the so-called top-tier will gladly line up for VP, in either combination with Fred. He knows them well and might even have an arrangement worked out already. I like Rudy/Fred or Fred/Rudy best, but can live with other combinations. csdeven, you will too. I can’t wait for your takes in 6 months. No need to send me a dissertation against Fred, as you’ve already sent us myriads. I still like you and you have all the rights to do/say whatever, obviously.

Bill C on May 16, 2007 at 12:44 PM

Bill C you have hit it on the head. Fred! knows exactly what he is doing. If he were not running, then why is he in the media so much in the past few months? Let the others spend their millions. Fred! is grass-roots. I just can’t wait for the debates between Fred! and the leftards.

Neocon Peg on May 16, 2007 at 6:39 PM

I think that Fred!s Breitbart.tv video response to Michael Moore shows very clearly that he knows what he’s doing.

If he can draw media attention without spending campaign donations, AND HE HAS, why shouldn’t he?

If he can do the right thing by his NBC contract without endangering his chances of gaining a nomination that is still a LONG way away, why shouldn’t he?

If he won the Senate seat that had been held by a Democrat for decades using a non-traditional campaign, and believes he can pull off the same trick at a national level using free/cheap new media methods, why shouldn’t he?

The debates, the standard campaign whirlwind, and the behaviors called for by conventional wisdom are for the birds. For those claiming he’s “ducking”, that analogy won’t apply until the main event, the nominating convention. Your criticism will be proven right or wrong then. Until then, the man has a plan, he’s sticking to it, and he’s not asking your advice.
