I was wondering about that too.

I thought you guys were all about separation of powers. What happened to executive authority over foreign policy?

That was my first question. Not coming down harder on Pelosi for her little foreign policy trip set the stage. Now congress thinks they have equal footing in this regard and Iran is more than willing to take advantage of it to do an end-run around the president.

There is no reason to talk to people who have stated that:
A. They will lie in the cause of Allah, and
B. They will not honor any negotiated settlement, and
C. They have a religious duty to kill us.

D: They will continue to violate the sanctity of embassies.

We still owe them payback for 444 days of captivity of our embassy staff. They still occupy OUR SOVERIGN SOIL in Teheran.

If I were in charge, at the very least I would insure that the former US Embassy is destroyed by our hand. And I would make sure that their parliament building suffers the same fate as punitive payback for the Marine barracks in Beirut, the Khobar Towers in Saudi Arabia, and for their part in killing Americans in Iraq.

And I’d also forcibly remove from the territory of the United States all Iranian UN diplomatic personnel.

We’ll take that to committtee right after Congress moderates it’s Bush-bashing laws.

Speaking of jizya tax, exactly what is the money sent over the years to the PA, run by a known terrorist?
And when did the US start giving the really big bucks to Egypt? I recollect the foriegn aid to Egypt increased significantly after the Camp David accords, and continue to this day. A cynic might suggest that is jizya tax to prevent war agianst Israel.

More likely they’ll tell the dhimmicrats to put the jizya tax in the next budget.

Okay so what if Khamenei and Bush agree to disagree and both decide to allow their more pragmatic legislative branches to engage in dialogue in an attempt to reach some sort of agreement that would be mutally beneficial to both nations?

Alright I’ll leave fantasy land, but come on a little optimism never hurt did it Allah? And if we’re going to end up bombing them anyway, at least we can say we tried.
