This has nothing to do with religion, I’m sure. I’m 99% certain that “jihad” is only ever used to reference the liberation of Arrakis from the clutches of House Harkkonan. Allah Akhbar actually means, “For the Spice!”

Lehosh on May 14, 2007 at 4:26 P

That had to do with religion, too.

Let's see... what religion says "strike at their necks" in the text of its dogma?

What religion says "terrorize them"?

What religion declares eternal war against infidels until they convert, submit and pay their protection money or die?

Hmmm... Buddhism?

Nah.

Taoism?
Jainism?
Judaism?
Hinduism?
Christianity?
Zoroastrianism?

Nah.

I wonder if the researchers at the NYT could figure it out?

Ever.

For those who support the left's claim that terrorism should be a law enforcement issue watch the left denounce law enforcement's handling of this case. The Ft. Dix Six wasn't a wire tap case, or even a "patriot act case", it was a pure civilian report of suspicious activity which led to the arrest of terrorists in the midst of planning an attack in the US. If the left can't support the FBI on this case then they're solidly on the side of the terrorists because there are no side issues to hide behind.

They're going to use 'entrapment' as a defense. I'm pretty sure the NYT will support that heavily.

A federal law enforcement source confirmed to FOX News that the three — Dritan "Anthony" or "Tony" Duka, 28; Shain Duka, 26; and Eljvir "Elvis" Duka, 23 — also accumulated 19 traffic citations, but because they operated in "sanctuary cites," where law enforcement does not routinely report illegal immigrants to homeland security, none of the tickets raised red flags.

And, with Malkin reference et all, in defense of "the Clinton law enforcement" approach to fighting terrorism. Ah, those 'smart' kids over there...

This has everything to do with religion!

allah akhbar means allah is greater, not great.
Greater than who you ask? They, the Muslims claim allah is greater than God.
The True God of the Christians and Jews.

President Bush recently met with Dr. Dobson and other Christian leaders for more than an hour about why Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad believes we are living in the last days?....Why does he believe that the way to hasten the coming of Islamic Messiah is to annihilate the U.S. and Israel? What does Bible prophesy have to do with this? Listen to an interview about his meeting. You can skip past the talk of lobbying reform to get to the discussion at 20:50.

I can only lead you to the water...

As I posted elsewhere, people or organizations like the NYT are like the truthers. They take one fragment that appears not to fit the puzzle and they obsess over it. That's all they see, and everything then has to fit that puzzle piece. Pretty soon (to carry on the puzzle analogy) you have a picture, with all of the pieces but they are just hammered in. Step back and there are no left over pieces, but there is no real picture either.

After careful research, I have found that "Allah Akhbar" actually means "Praise the Jews"! Spread it around, see what happens.

This has nothing to do with religion, I'm sure. I'm 99% certain that "jihad" is only ever used to reference the liberation of Arrakis from the clutches of House Harkkonan. Allah Akhbar actually means, "For the Spice!"

Had this been an attack on an abortion clinic, the NYTs would be all over the religion angle. But we mustn’t *offend* the hajjis, they’re a downtrodden minority group being mistreated by the evil white man.

1.5 billion is NOT a minority!

Tony737, exactly. A Hotair commenter made the point the other day that was similar. I can't remember who said it but it was in reference to the Sharpton statement about Mormons not really believing in God. The commenter said, can you imagine if he said that about a Muslim (not really believing in God)? That would be the last we ever heard from big Al. The double standards and blindness to the obvious link between Islam and terrorism is becoming suicidal.

I'm hoping the Times is just biased, and honestly not that stupid. "jihad" isn't a teaching in Buddhism, last I checked.

Given what Karol says about the Duka family values, I can think of another place they may have been exposed to radical Islam.

Anybody know if these guys served time?

A Mark Steyn quote comes to mind here:

What's wrong with playing make-believe if it helps us all feel warm and fuzzy about each other. Because it's never helpful to put reality up for grabs; there may come a day where you need it. And today is the day that we do need a shot of reality.
