Imam who threatened Ayaan Hirsi Ali resigns

Backfire:

The leader of the Islamic Center of Johnstown has stepped down, two weeks after calling for the death penalty for a speaker critical of the Muslim faith.

The resignation comes in response to a request by board members, who said his statements do not reflect the views of the center’s members.

Fouad ElBayly said Wednesday he has complied with the request and resigned as the center’s imam – prayer leader – and president.

“I’ve said enough already,” ElBayly told The Tribune-Democrat when asked to comment on the controversy surrounding New York Times best-selling author Ayaan Hirsi Ali’s visit to Pitt-Johnstown in April.

Dhimmitude is not the default position in the US (yet). ElBayly learned that the hard way.

Finally got around to reading your “tips” inbox, eh? [grin]

And now he’s probably on his way to Pakistan for training as a muj.

I hope they find out that he got beat up by a girl … an *apostate* girl … a *black* apostate girl. Oh the humiliation! The shame! The dishonor he’s brought to his tribe!

I just finished reading Ayaan’s first book “The Caged Virgin”. Not as good as “Infidel” but it’s very good, and only half as many pages. Highly recommended.

Props to the mosque board for getting a clue as to how this America thing works. And of course to Ayaan, one of the sweetest warriors for liberty the world has ever known.

Anyone heard from the ACLU yet? Bueller?

Thank goodness we have evidence that some Muslims want to take their faith back from the fanatics that have overrun it in recent times.

I’m not impressed. This person Imam should be rotting in jail for attempting to hire a hit man.

No kidding … this ass deserves jail and Ayaan Hirsi Ali should sue him for everything he’s got, including his corrupted soul.

Thank God the Almighty.

Now, when is he packing his bag and heading back to Egypt?

Zorro on May 14, 2007 at 9:30 AM

Danno, if he did get sent to prison, I’d hope he’d be seperated from the gen. pop., not for his own safety, but so that he won’t be able to preach to and convert inmates.

Off Topic: Red on red violence in Gaza. Hamas vs. Fatah. I hate to say this a *good* thing, but when they’re killin’ each other, it means they’re too busy to try to kill Israelis.

Hooray!!

One lovely step…in a very long journey.

We love you, Ayaan!

Dhimmitude is not the default position in the US (yet).

“Yet” is the key word, if we’re not careful and let the idealistic dreamers win.

And who exactly thinks his replacement will be an improvement? Muslims always respond to painful criticism with bogus remedies that are all form and no substance. Check back in three months and nothing will have changed except the names.

I’m sorry, but I don’t trust a religion that will send it’s people to blow themselves up and kill innocent people, to believe that the act of sacrificing a leader in an attempt to appear moderate, isn’t motivated by a desire to put us at ease with their particular organization.
