No tie. Imus insulted EVERYONE. Himself, his wife, Bernard, etc. He was hired and expected to make outrageous comments. And Imus’ remarks never led to the deaths of 7 people. Al was up to his eyebrows with the Freddie’s Fashion Mart protest where he inflamed race tensions by saying…..

“We will not stand by and allow them to move this brother so that some white interloper can expand his business.”

It’s the mounting public pressure to change the culture of hate, bias and double standards that’s very cool.

Disinterestedly I watched most of it. The skin head thinks it was the “Rev.” that got them fired and the “Rev.” thinks they got them self fired.

Personally, the “Rev.” was irrelevant in this case. It was the trifecta of screw up on the part of Imus and the producer, who actually said ‘ho’ first in reference to kids.

Is Imus a racist and misogynistic jerk? Yea of course he is, when it comes down to it, but that was not why he got fired or should have been fired. It’s a fact the TV and radio management came out with a suspension. That was their decision. The “people” spoke thru the sponsors. May the “Rev.” got it more notoriety, but so what. FREE MARKET BABY. Be a capitalist. Breaking News: Let it be known old white men can’t call young black college female athletes, you know what and the N-word. NEWS FLASH OVER.

It was the public outrage and the sponsors that who the choice, well past Sharpton’s sidewalk protest. MSNBC and ABC radio made a business decision. No sponsors no show. Get mad at GM, American Express, Proctor and Gamble and Staples, to name a few.

Al Roker, nbc, the most benign non threatening black man in the universe was pissed; KIDS and Ho’s don’t mix (especially from a white man, deal with it). It was way past Sharpton and Imus and skin head producer, it was the people.

It does not matter what Sharpton’s past was, what Imus’ past was, who protested what and who, what good works Imus did, plublicity sharpton got or his motive, what rappers say or that Imus is a ‘shock jock’, it DOES NOT MATTER. I love the producer saying that sharpton has denied the public the joy of his show, ha ha ha ha, ego may be?

We’ll live and survive. Imus will get a XM/Sirius gig and no doubt take skin head with him. Like Stern he will have a fraction of the audience, but unlike Stern, he will make less money and his guest list will no longer include the rich, powerful and highest political figures in government. Stern has strippers so he can get guest. Personally I don’t blame Sharpton and I don’t think Imus should have been fired, but Imus made millions and is suing. Good luck with that crypt keeper.

He’s gonna win because his Constitutional rights have been squashed.

From what I hear Imus may have a good civil case based on some specifics of his contract, not that I like him, or care, and clearly Sharpton is a hypocrite, and all that other stuff. But how do you reckon Imus’s Constitutional rights were squashed? That document limits the power of the government, not of individuals, advertisers, or radio stations. The man was fired, not arrested.

I hope IMUS sues and I hope he sues big. He’s gonna win because his Constitutional rights have been squashed. If the rappers can mouth off, why can’t IMUS? This little screw up is gonna pay off for the other side for once.

Everytime Sharpton opens his mouth there’s the possibility a vote will change to our side. Hell, at the next debate I’d love to see him run up to Hilary, give her a big hug and start rapping “she’s our girl”!

Hannity is what keeps Al Sharpton relevant.

Exposure is good for the soul and Sharpton and others need the light of day shined on them.

Hannity can vote but once but his audience is many more votes; the more bad actors see the light the more gets done about them and the more pressure the bad actors get for change.

I constantly got the idea that Hannity and Colmes even though it was obvious that both of them thought Sharpton is a race baiting loud mouth opportunist, they both let him exploit the loud mouth part of his persona.

He evaded his guilt by blaming Hannity, Colmes and McGuirk with name calling when he deserved and should have apologized for every accurate portrayal of Sharptons’ character.

Sharpton is guilty many times over of everything that was thrown at him but he just abused his status and expected that he be allowed too.

Sharpton was anything but contrite and everything that was arrogant.

If you aren’t strong enough to man up and admit wrong doing (Imus did) then expect some name calling.
