Diggbats give thumbs up to assassinating Cheney

The comment featured on the frontpage actually has a net of -2 at the moment, which means there are exactly two more people who rated it thumbs down than thumbs up.
Not this one, though:

It’s actually up to +26 since I screencapped it, notwithstanding the efforts of some of the saner Diggers to talk the rest into contenting themselves with impeachment.
The whole thread is simply a delight; thanks to Mike H. for tipping us. Click.
Update: Polipundit has a new podcast up with Bernie Goldberg. Listen to what he says at 23:45 about his friend “Robert.” Exit question one: What would the thumbs up be at Digg for threats if they weren’t illegal? Exit question two: Is assassination the next stage in the ongoing Trutherfication of the left?
Update: Here’s a new one spotted by reader Casey B. Looks like they’re just getting warmed up.

Don’t execute terrorists, murderers and child rapists, but kill the V.P. huh? When Klintoon was Prez, we didn’t like him, but nobody wanted to kill him. Just wait ’til Jan. 20th ‘09 and he’ll be outta there. Shesh, these people are so full of hatred, no wonder they’re in bed with islamic terrorists!

Where the f&*k are those damn black helicopters? If Bush/Cheney were 1/1000th as bad as those moonbats claim then those idiots at Diggs should start disappearing any moment.

Diggdom is nothing more than a bunch of psuedo intellectual misfits hold up in their tiny rooms relying on anonymity to say what they would not have the guts to say in person. They represent the worst of the worst of this country.

Reading thru the comments my favorite was the one about bringing the troops home to fight the ‘real’ war on terror against us neo-cons. OK works for me!

It’s too bad there’s not a “Promote but object” button so it could get promoted for people to see the lunacy, but not appear to be supporting the comment.

Jeez, I was under the impression that these type of threats were illegal.
The Bush Administration has done a good job with the Economy, and is to be commended for taking on terrorists in Afghanistan and Iraq. Although, they screwed that up by not going balls to the wall, and what should have taken 24 months is 4 years and countimg.
Other than the above and a couple of Supreme Court nominees, this has been the most feckless and unmanly administration in my lifetime.
God forbid, but does anyone think an HRC administration wouldn’t bring down the hammer on these types of expression.
Bring on Rudy and the doctrine called the “Broken Pane Theory.”
And how about making this a maxim for the GOP, no more male cheerleaders.

I like Digg. I really do! It keeps these morons and hate mongers in one place where we can keep an eye on them.
If Digg goes away these festering souls will ooze out all over the internet, tainting everything they touch.
Someone once told me the best way to argue with folks like this is to simply ask them to explain their position in detail. They can’t. They can only regurgitate wacko talking points they read in a previous hate-filled post.

Cheney is all over MO like white on rice. I think his speech may in part be a response to the Sarkozy acceptence speech. The guys posting on digg could be guilty of numerous breaking numerous laws. I think the situation should be examined in detail. I’m claiming John Doe on this one. Thanks Allah for uncovering the hate speech. /sc

Just wanted to point out that the little digg brats are digging stories at Hot Air and putting their own bullsh*t spin on them (click the digg button for this story, i’ve seen a few others as well). They do the same thing at LGF. Just pointing it out so those of you with digg accounts can get to the stories before the little a**wipe digg brats do.

honestly, i was just reading this lengthy piece about soviet disinfo in the 80’s and 90’s (aids created in u.s. lab and distributed to the third world via spiked condomes, etc.) and i’m led to think, was it nessesary with so many volunteers in the democrat grassroots?

amerpundit on May 12, 2007 at 1:54 PM
The American rulers’ decades of delay in the destruction of their enemies seems to have contributed to an opinion widespread among Americans that they don’t face any great threats. The delay and the opinion based on it seem to have provided an occasion to build an internal division based on a consequent opinion that the Americans’ rulers are merely making up foreign threats. The gentleness of the rulers toward their foreign enemies lends credibility to the opinion that they’re making up stories about the dangers. Moreover, the elapsed decades have provided time for many events to happen, which those on one side of the division have then been able to exploit as justifications for such enemies as they acknowledge the Americans do have. In general, it seems better to destroy an enemy promptly if it appears the people’s fear of that enemy will not be sustained. It appears a people come to have contempt and hatred for their rulers, if the rulers dither with foreign enemies to the point that the people lose their fear.

i don’t mean to hijack the blog, but this is sort of on topic.
use digg
if you follow the digg link for this post, you’ll see that a lefty troll has hijacked the story and put a bunch of gibberish there. once a digg entry has been entered, that’s it. it’s the only digg entry allowed for that post on that blog. this is a high-traffic blog. when lefty trolls digg a post out from under us that post is lost. you can “bury” it, but you can’t replace it with an accurate digg headline.
so, digg: digg first, digg down the troll comments, digg up the substantive comments.
it takes two seconds and you’ll be doing blogs like this and yourself a favor.
jummy on May 12, 2007 at 2:04 PM

there are two diggbats who have sort of made this blog their “beat”.
one is named “malkuntent”. what a rich tapestry of focused hate that handle is. get it?
“malcontent” – he’s one of society’s sensitive seers, mitivated to speak out about the wrongs of this world.
“malkin” – he identifies the object of his hatred
“kunt” – obviously a champion of women’s rights.

Time and time again the moonbat liberals demonstrate how perfectly they fit into the extremist Islamic vision for America and the rest of the world. The funny part is, the moonbats are basically Socialist/Communist, but the extremist Islamics are hardcore Conservatives… it’s going to be a rude awakening for the moonies if the Islamics get their way in the end.

I suspect it’s only a matter of time. Not that high-level conservatives are necessarily the most at-risk, despite the amount of lip-service they get. The “Greenshirts” are just as likely to go after local officials, or businessmen, or media personalities.
However you cut it, the left’s fascistic streak has been able to go very far very fast in terms of violence-themed rhetoric, without any appreciable negative repercussions of any kind, and even a fair amount of positive reinforcement, at least amongst perceived peers. That kind of inertia without any appreciable resistance is more than a little creepy. Some of these people, I fear, have been toeing the line between deranged language and actual violence for a while now.

I never really liked Anne, and so steered far away from her whenever she came on the air. I just googled those statements and yes, I AM EQUALLY OUTRAGED.
So…was that your only point? You do realize most of the people here are moderate conservatives and members of the rare “agnostic secular social liberal pro-war” group right?

the progressive legacy magazine, utne reader, uses the term “diversity of tactics” as a specific reference to the use of terrorist violence as a legitimate and beneficial means of political action.

Why do we even give those people a voice on this website? Most of those diggers are either people that work at your local 7 eleven or Circuit City or are wacko left wing retards. Could you imagine living in an America where Presidents ride around waving in open cars because society at least, believes no one would do such a thing? That must have been great when we had at least the illusion of peace and security. Now it’s not just Presidents who need secret service, it’s everyone.

bradky, i’m afraid neither of those fits the bill.
don’t forget the deranged progressive who rolled a grenade onstage when he was speaking in georgia.
i remember a couple years ago rolling up on my bike to an anemic protest of dick cheney. i was going to avoid it, but the douche on the bullhorn was shouting something about taxcuts “for the rich”. so i went over and explained that i made $8/hr and the dollar figure of my refund. the “two americas” progressive in the itallian sneakers was incredulous; he asked me, “oh, yea? what did you write off?”
jummy on May 13, 2007 at 6:50 AM
Jummy,
Janos had made the statement that “Hey, a++hole, I’ve been reading this site since August and I’ve never seen anyone call for any liberal /moonbat / wacko-leftie to be killed.”
The examples showed his statement to be inaccurate. I posted a link to a story about someone who planned to try to take out Hillary. Just because you don’t like Democrats doesn’t make the examples not true. “Not fitting the bill?” Come on, that starts to sound like the dreaded truther logic. There are whack jobs on both sides and all should be condemned as such.
Bradky on May 13, 2007 at 8:57 AM
As usual, Bradkey, you state the obvious, and then you COMPLETELY MISS that which most everyone else already knows. Then you act as though you have imparted some great gem of wisdom upon us all.
“whack jobs on both sides” — no contest.
But here’s the difference — we conservatives POLICE our wack jobs. Case in point: ACS took a beating on this site after Annie’s “f@gg*t” remark at CPAC. The debate was INTENSE.
Meanwhile, the liberals not only permit their wack jobs to “run amok,” they try to get them signed-on to presidential campaign staffs. All the while, encouraging, promoting, and agitating them into EVEN MORE EXTREME behaviour. (Yeah. That’s right. A-G-I-T-A-T-I-N-G. Just like Howard Cosell was SO fond of saying.)
But it doesn’t surprise me that you can’t see the difference. As the other HotAir participants have already pointed out, you are simply a tool that most of us have already learned to ignore.
CyberCipher on May 13, 2007 at 10:34 AM
Someone there at digg has noticed that some of us here think they are a pathetic bunch.
They are, of course.
drjohn on May 13, 2007 at 10:51 AM
From the guy who said this in the same day: If you were in a room with Hitler,Stalen and Oberdouche, and you had a gun with only two bullets. Who would you shoot? ANSWER Oberdouche twice!
Nonfactor on May 13, 2007 at 11:05 AM
But I was right about Janos misrepresenting the oh so sanctimonious hotair posters like you. “no one here says that” “wait they do but we know that” “i’m so confused – what’s a narrowminded conservative to do”.
Sometimes this is like watching the comedy hour in seeing some of you dance around your hypocrisy. If you spent more time actually reading relevant source articles instead of “seeing what the DU or KOS people are saying” I’d have much more regard for your opinions. But alas, the game here for many is to show how much better we are than those other guys.
And thanks for not ignoring me Cypher – to know that I am somebody in the cyberworld means the world to me.
“I blog therefore I am” – the battle cry of today’s twenty something generation.

ReubenJCogburn on May 13, 2007 at 11:54 AM
Nothing in that story suggests the person in question was a conservative, only that he was apparently a drug user. It could have been someone to the left of Hillary who views her candidacy as a threat to “legitimate” Democrats, or, more likely, simply somebody deranged in a purely non-partisan fashion (Hinckley, after all, didn’t shoot Reagan over policy differences).
Blacklake on May 13, 2007 at 1:21 PM
I think you nailed the point precisely. It’s not that there’s no such thing as a verbal loose cannon on the conservative side of the net. It’s that, on the left, such talk from the loose cannons seems to be viewed as far more tolerable than it is on the right. This fact, couple with the sense of overwhelming anger and frustration that’s increasingly being evidenced by the far left–and which is almost entirely absent on the conservative side–is what speaks of the potential that the line between verbiage and violence is liable to be crossed.
Blacklake on May 13, 2007 at 1:28 PM

goolagmosque.locomotivebreath1901 on May 13, 2007 at 3:35 PM
You just cited MORE EVIDENCE that proves my point. How do you know that my snarky comment of “let the group hate begin” isn’t just one of my sarcastic ways of serving as a sentinel or watchdog for decency? Just like all the other liberals that routinely take other peoples words out of context, you misrepresented my initial comment in that thread by craftily OMITTING my follow-on comment, viz.
My follow-on comment CLEARLY shows that I was trying to get people to think about the moral implications of HotAir’s Rosie obsessions. It’s just that I tried to do it in a humorous way that wasn’t too overbearing or too offensive. I didn’t want to “come across” like the typical liberal who thinks that he has “absolute moral authority.” But, of course, like most liberals (who wouldn’t recognize the truth if it ran over them like an 18-wheel truck) you will no doubt try to twist or miscontrue THAT comment of mine as well. Good luck trying to convince everyone at HotAir that CyberCipher is an Orwellian communist propagandist that openly advocates the use of the “two-minute hate.” That’s gonna’ be a pretty tough sell, since most of the participants here know the history of my posts, and they are aware that I am advocate of both conservative ideals and of common decency.
BTW, I apologize to my fellow conservatives since all that I’ve managed to prove here is that liberals routinely use unethical tactics to formulate their arguments. It’s dreadfully boring, since nearly everyone that participates here already knows that.
CyberCipher on May 13, 2007 at 4:53 PM
LOL! Dude! You are vastly oversimplify the diverse make-up of the participants here at HotAir. Furthermore, the LAST thing that I would try to do is to attempt to secure your “regard for my opinions.” Check out my confession in that same Rosie thread that you lifted from, viz.
I, for one, don’t spend ANY of my time at DU or KOS. The only reason that I know that they exist AT ALL, is because they are frequently quoted and linked to here at HotAir. Furthermore, I have very little time to read source articles. I depend on Michelle, Bryan, AllahPundit, Ian, see-dubya et. al. to do that FOR me. Blogging, journalism, and politics are NOT my forte. I just hang-out here on occassion because I am trying to learn something about the mystifying world of politics. You won’t find me at DU or KOS because I KNOW what kind of people hang-out there. You see, I’d BE a Democrat, if it weren’t for the Democrats that I know. Yes, that’s right, I have a sense of humor. So sue me.
