posted at 8:05 am on May 9, 2007 by Ian
Glendale Community College professor Walter Kehowski is suspended pending a hearing because an email he sent quoting President George Washington’s Thanksgiving proclamation contained a link to — Pat Buchanan. Professor Kehowski explained his side of the story on Tuesday night’s edition of Hannity and Colmes.

then every professors emails should be investigated and i am certain that they will find that other professors have done the same thing with links to all kinds of leftists websites. how the libs totally hate anyone with a point of view that is opposite of theirs.

All I can say is how dare this professor think that America’s colleges and universities are for free discussion of ideas, no matter how controversial.
Next thing he going to want the right to vote or something crazy like that.

Two words:
Ward Churchill
(and good-ol Ward was guilty of actual crimes like plagiarism, lying on his application and pretending to be a protected class) He still hasn’t been fired has he?

I could not get enough of the President George Washington images. Reminded me how much I love this country and filled my up with gratitude and pride. Nice graphics, H&C!

I love it when Alan gets spanked, he becomes pasty and looks like a whipped puppy…then he puts on whatever bravado he can muster up.
The left hates all George’s, any president or leader with the name George is wrong. In fact, if your name is George you cannot be a liberal.

Right you are, but I was referring to the show, not the individuals.
George Tenet?

As far as academia is concerned, there is no longer any such thing as free speech, only approved speech.

good point,i would say there is a distinct possibility

Don’t I get a free instructional disk from the Video Professor? Oops! That’s the OTHER Video Professor.
pjcomix on May 9, 2007 at 9:48 AM
Nah. The Libs probably thought it was the same guy. You have to remember we’re dealing with tinfoil hat wearers here.
amerpundit on May 9, 2007 at 10:00 AM
Valid point. This only adds to the prosecutions case however because now they will argue that the professor is victimising them based on their illiteracy. They will then declare themselves an oppressed minority and begin their ‘struggle’ for ‘freedom’ by ‘resisting’ their oppressor. The poor prof will likely end up with a fatwa.

I don’t understand how this could possibly even become an issue. I must be missing something?
Bob's Kid on May 9, 2007 at 10:04 AM
Alan Colmes was certainly saved by the bell on that one.

George Clooney
Zetterson on May 9, 2007 at 10:06 AM
Pretty obvious really. A conservatively oriented prof working in a liberal institution was pushing what to the libs is right-wing propaganda. This is double-plus-ungood and must be punished.
Aylios on May 9, 2007 at 10:06 AM
I should add that had he been disseminating Hezbollah propaganda there probably wouldnt have been a problem. That would have qualified as free speech.
Aylios on May 9, 2007 at 10:08 AM
And he would be doing it under a taxpayer funded grant from PBS.

George Soros…ok, ok, it was just a joke sheesh.

But quoting George Washington is offensive. As a UNC (staff? faculty?) person once told me: “I know everything I need to know about George Washington – he was rich, and he was a slaveholder. There’s nothing else I need to know about George Washington.”

When preachers around the country started warning of this about 20 years ago, they were laughed at. “This is America, you know, that sort of thing can’t happen!”
Good morning, America.
That’s why F.I.R.E., CLA, and the HSLDA never have any work to do, because the socialists LOVE freedom of speech for all, right?
Freelancer on May 9, 2007 at 2:52 PM
Right. I guess they’re too stupid to realize that they would/will be first against the wall if their totalitarian dream comes true.
