Video: Trutherism on “Red Eye”
posted at 7:55 pm on May 8, 2007 by Allahpundit
Watching this is like finding out the girl you have a crush on is a racist. It’s Samantha Judge, gossip reporter for Maxim radio and recurring RE guest. She’s young, cute, bubbly, and fits in well on the show. She’s also, evidently, an imbecile. There’s nothing Gutfeld could do about it either except look disappointed. Sad. And needless to say, it shows once again how mainstream this garbage has become.
Note that even Judge is savvy enough to present her idiocy in the guise of “discussion” and keeping an open mind. Cindy Sheehan said the same thing when she was asked about 9/11; so did Rosie, actually, her infamous comment about fire not being able to melt steel notwithstanding. The “open mind” dodge is either Trutherism 2.0 or it’s the standard version edited for content when the cameras are on to avoid the stigma that comes with being known as a full-blown, balls-out conspiracy theorist. Sad, sad, sad.
Thanks to Jack M. for the tip.
Update: Jack says Samantha must go. Unlikely.

OT:
This pleases me greatly.
Btw, any chance of the halftime report appearing on other FNC shows?
A little dry wit halfway through H&C would really liven things up.

I only ever watched it when Bravo played it. I had vague interest in it when it was released, after the shooting at my high school (it was a minor one, only one injury, but it was a kinda a copycat incident after a more serious one) I wanted to see what the Fatass From Flint said in his movie in a big way, but wasn’t gonna pay 18 bucks for the DVD knowing that slimeball would get a cut. I figure Bravo paid him anyway, so I did see it. I hate the guy like no other, the way he used school shootings and emotions tied to them to pimp his agenda.

Good luck! He can’t even get Hume to acknowledge the show! What will it be, show 66 on the Hume-an Slights Watch? Stay strong.
RightWinged on May 9, 2007 at 1:42 AM
BTW, Levy if you’re still around, good on you for calling out people like Steyn on the VTech thing, they were way outta line. What those students did was typical, exactly what people did at my school, and to call it cowardly was shameful.
Bad Candy on May 9, 2007 at 1:43 AM
To me the question is, do we want to try to convince people like Judge that we’re right, or just reject them and let the other side have them? And do we reject them the first time they annoy us? Seems kinda knee-jerk to me. Seems kinda Atrios-y.
How “feminine” of you! Yeah, recognizing that bullets go into people’s flesh is all soft and weak, like our fallen society. These people have opened my eyes.
Jim Treacher on May 9, 2007 at 2:14 AM
Yes and no on the first point. I’m usually firmly rooted in the pitchforks and torches camp when it comes to Truthers, but I think its more of a case of stupidity than maliciousness on her part, willful as her ignorance is. I think it’d be better to try and talk her off the ledge for now, and actually I don’t mind it, I’m inda thinking its better people see it.
On the second point, I guess I shoulda given you your credit too. And yeah, guess that I won’t criticize victims of a well prepared psycho for doing what people do every time one of these happens makes me a real pussy too.
Bad Candy on May 9, 2007 at 2:26 AM
My favorites were the two separate individuals who said that if you shoot at a room full of people with a paintball gun, they’ll be able to rush you before you can shoot too many of them. I mean, that’s just plain science right there.
Jim Treacher on May 9, 2007 at 2:36 AM
Just wow, Levy…
Connie on May 9, 2007 at 2:53 AM
Try more Marxist education…
Connie on May 9, 2007 at 2:54 AM
That is a really interesting question (seriously). In a fair world, I’d like to say “leave them alone and let them tarnish the Democratic party which we now know 35% of believes Bush knew, and another 26% “don’t know”, leaving only 39% who can confidently say “Bush didn’t have foreknowledge”. That’s sad by the way. BUT, as I’ve said earlier (and I understand if you don’t want to dig back through my comments) I believe that we’re headed for an America where roughly half of the country are Truthers and/or Sam Judges who “don’t buy the official story, and have questions”. So it’s tough to just ignore them in my mind. I constantly encourage folks around here to arm themselves. Watch “Screw Loose Change: Not Freakin’ Again Edition”, read the “Loose Change Viewer Guide”, and countless other debunking resources, because soon (within the next 10 years) this “
bowelmovement” will grow too large to ignore, and you’ll need to be armed to hand these people their asses. That’s really the scary thing though isn’t it? The more educated are often the stupidest. Even back to high school I recall kids talking about other kids that were “so smart”. Give me a break, in high school if you hand in your assignments these days, you’re getting As, whether you’re “smart” or right or not. In general it’s just a matter of doing the busy work assigned. Often the smartest kids get worse grades but test the highest because they’re bored in our broken system of teachers who do nothing but assign homework after spending a class quieting the kids down.
As for those talking about whether or not kids should have rushed Cho, I agree with both sides a bit. I would never call the kids cowards by any means because I don’t know what went down exactly in those rooms. At the same time, I find it hard to believe that not a single person attempted to rush him from the side while he was shooting others, but I suppose the shock factor of what was happening could have been a factor. I guess it’s just odd that so many able bodied young people were unable to do something, but again we don’t know exactly how it all went down (when did he reload, etc.).

AP, what is it with you and blonds…
spmat on May 9, 2007 at 3:50 AM
I think Connie raises a good point. I think, but who can tell.
Jim Treacher on May 9, 2007 at 3:51 AM
Weird, what happened to my last comment? It’s obviously in moderation, but I’m unclear what tripped it.
RightWinged on May 9, 2007 at 3:57 AM
I LOLed.
spmat on May 9, 2007 at 4:10 AM
I’m dealing with the heartache in my own way…so far all I can come up with is “she’s not thinking bad thoughts, she’s just not thinking” The scary part is: she can vote(I find my self thinking that about a dozen times a day as I meet people in day to day life.)
TBinSTL on May 9, 2007 at 4:41 AM
There was a guy at my last job who was sort of a closet truther. Until he sent a “Bush knew” email that used the company global address list.
Freelancer on May 9, 2007 at 6:57 AM
Aw come on now, she wasn’t all that bad. She was just playing devil’s advocate a bit. She can’t help that she’s, as a saying here in Norway goes, “dum and delicious”. There’s never a “simple” explanation for such an event, the false premise that there is one is of course what conspiracy theorists latch onto and get their prey with.
There’s always going to be things we don’t know that went on that day. We have no idea what actually happened on the planes. We have no video. We have incomplete bits of audio from what, 1-2 planes? To pretend that we could ever know everything about 9/11 is the lie.
Seixon on May 9, 2007 at 7:29 AM
Keep in mind, though, that if you’ve been through the school system recently you get a pat on the head and some sort of soy-based treat from the teacher if you “question” the facts.
So for people like Rosie it’s enough to say, “I don’t know what happened, I just know it didn’t happen like The Man said it did.” She’s cool with that, as is the country.
saint kansas on May 9, 2007 at 9:36 AM
This calls for a dose of Mrs. Gutfeld.

Sweet.

Dimwit…and I disagree about the attractive part.
Malpaso on May 9, 2007 at 10:41 AM
I think that trutherism is a form of denial. They don’t wants to believe that there are people that want to kill you just for your religion, your freedoms, or your beliefs or being different. They are unable or unwilling to see that different views or cultures are not always good. That would infringe upon their core beliefs in diversity and multiculturalism. So, it is easier to believe in a motive they do understand, such as greed, either for cash or power, and twist the facts to support those as the root cause of tragedies. I am amazed at how they can call the president an idiot, but also believe that he was able to plan, execute, and cover up a machivellian plan of such magnitude.
coyoterex on May 9, 2007 at 11:05 AM
I said this on a previous link but it bears repeating……just for the discussion.
If GWB know about the 9/11 attacks in advance how come he didn’t “trick” the Democrap leadership into having a huge meeting in one of the towers?
VikingGoneWild on May 9, 2007 at 11:42 AM
I not sure but I believe South Park underestimated the percentage. The percentage seems to go up with each passing day. What was 25% is probably closer to 30% these days.
SPIFF1669 on May 9, 2007 at 12:46 PM
How about “Loosers”?
ReubenJCogburn on May 9, 2007 at 12:51 PM
BTW, Hitch just cancelled for tonite. He’ll now be on Friday.
Levy on May 9, 2007 at 3:02 PM
It’s RedEye! It’s like Beverly Hills 90210, without the Boniva.
RightWinged on May 9, 2007 at 3:46 PM
I like it. I work with a guy, (who has a crush on me btw -so go figure-) who seemingly gets all of his information from what I call Schlockumentaries. “Did you see ‘The Smartest Guys in the Room?’” me, “No. I read all about Enron.” “Have you seen ‘Supersize Me’? Did you know McDonalds has a lot of fat in their food? And they don’t tell you?” me, “Go figure – Mickey D’s is fattening. I never knew. What a revelation.”
It’s just sad to me that people get all of their information from Shlockumentaries. It’s scary.
foxforce91 on May 9, 2007 at 3:56 PM
Omg I just laughed so hard I spit Mentos on my monitor!
foxforce91 on May 9, 2007 at 3:57 PM
Seriously though. She’s REALLY cute. Can’t we look past her 9/11 psychosis and feminism? She’s like Miss Malkin with pom poms! Can’t we give her a break?
Kevin M on May 9, 2007 at 4:14 PM
I can’t believe that I’m siding with Allison Hannigan. :(
Kevin M on May 9, 2007 at 4:16 PM
Do you really think she’s cute? I think she looks like a boy in drag – only the drag queens have better stylists.
foxforce91 on May 9, 2007 at 4:30 PM
Yeah, I hate it when guys get crushes on me, too. Especially if they’re Loosers who get all of their information from crapumentaries. (That’s what I call them, anyway.
ReubenJCogburn on May 9, 2007 at 4:30 PM
No. And puhlease don’t compare her to Michelle. Michelle’s got scruples. Oh. wait. Does anyone on Red Eye have scruples? ;)
Connie on May 9, 2007 at 4:36 PM
Glad you enjoyed it… hope it didn’t come off as just totally random though, if you (and others) are RedEye addicts, you know Gutfeld opens the show with something like that every night.
RightWinged on May 9, 2007 at 4:39 PM
I’m a weirdo magnet. I’m not bragging, believe me.
foxforce91 on May 9, 2007 at 4:42 PM
Oh, I didn’t think you were, I was just making a joke based on me being a dude. And a flamingly heterosexual one at that.
ReubenJCogburn on May 9, 2007 at 5:03 PM
I dunno Foxforce. For lack of a better word, I would ‘date’ her. But it’s interesting to know that women often confuse the word ‘crush’ with ‘jeez I’d really like to sleep with that girl’.
In truth, there is no difference between the two. It has very little to do with the intelligence of the female.
That said, I’ve got a ‘crush’ on that psychotic hippie Judge lady.
Just being honest.
Kevin M on May 9, 2007 at 5:13 PM
Women feel crush-y. In the pants. Where men throb.
A man can’t have a crush. At least not on a woman.
Stephen M on May 9, 2007 at 5:37 PM
I guess I was being hard on her, Kevin M. Women are more critical of eachother as well.
foxforce91 on May 9, 2007 at 5:49 PM
Winner!
Dammit, that Dan Whitney-Chris Hitch double bill tonight was gonna seriously rock!
Hey, ask Hitch about getting Pwned by the Delta stewardess on the 6am flight from DC to Atlanta a couple of weeks ago. I kinda felt sorry for him when she totally called Hitch out for ignoring her during the exit row safety schpiel.
ScottMcC on May 9, 2007 at 6:45 PM
Which was kind of embarrassing, because she was 17 at the time.
John from WuzzaDem on May 9, 2007 at 7:28 PM
Yet more proof that Wuzzadem hates 17 year old sixth graders. She’s trying to get an education, you bastage!
