Ted Rall goofs on McCain for confessing under torture

With every Rall outrage the dilemma presents itself anew: deny him the attention he craves or expose him and remind people what a bottom-feeding cretin he is? There’s no right answer. So here’s the latest wrong answer, via JPod at the Corner, in which the poor man’s Latuff waxes moronic with a joke that’s not even a joke about McCain falsely confessing to war crimes at the hands of the left’s VC pals. Ryan Sager thinks Rall’s making light of the fact that he broke under torture; I don’t think it rises even to that level of thought. As I read it, he’s simply taking the confession at face value and reminding the reader that McCain, by his own admission, committed war crimes. The humor, such as it is, lies in the use of the decades-old “I did X and all I got was this lousy t-shirt” gag.
Follow Sager’s link to see the whole cartoon, which is noteworthy for (a) the magical Rall logic by which horror is expressed at Bush’s smear of McCain amid a symphony of Alzheimer’s jokes and torture goofs and (b) the preview it offers, albeit in highly concentrated form, of how the media as a whole is going to treat McCain if he ends up as the nominee. Note the multiple fond references to 2000, when St. John was a stalwart critic of the religious right at the height of his leftish “maverick” powers. They’ll never forgive him for tacking back towards the base. And they’ll prove it next summer if he wins the primary.

As usual, Rall shows his good taste, inclusiveness, and tolerance against those mean-spirited, torched earth, immoral Republikkkans!

Ted Rall can’t draw worth a damn.

Its good to know Democrats believe in Evolution, the problem is most of them are going BACKWARDS not FORWARDS
E.g.: Ted Rall, a man known for shoving his foot in his mouth has evolved to be able to shove his entire left leg in his mouth

If someone grabbed Teddies panties and gave him a wedgie, he would confess to anything.

Giving Ted Rall any thought is like looking into the mind of someone who escaped from a lunatic assylum.
Nietsche had it right when it comes to Rall. “Beware looking into the Abyss because the Abyss looks back at you.”

Making light of Alzheimer’s is always a good way to show how compassionate you are vis a vis those evil, mean spirited Republicans.
In an alternate reality, Teddy boy is a cartoonist in Iran drawing “satire” about President “Whack-job.” Of course, his hands have been cut off and he is rotting in prison. At least he is not suffering under the oppressive Bush “regime.”
I saw Ted Rall this morning, and then I told him bye and flushed the toilet. POS.

Yeah the guy is deranged and irrelevant. The only reason I care is on the slight chance I meet someone who actually thinks he’s “edgy” or “bold”, I enjoy brining up these nutty cartoons to kind of rub it in =)

Why is Rall still breathing? I thought he was brain dead and off life support.

No matter how much I hate Rall, which is to say considerably, it’s always struck me as odd that any American military POW who broke under interrogation/torture would be able to have any political future at all, much less the one that McCain’s enjoyed, versus a true badass like Adm. Stockwell.

I don’t know whether I’ll vote for McCain or not, but I do know that Ted Rall would have to improve himself significantly before he could claim to be 1/10 the man McCain is.

Thanks for that. My thoughts exactly when I read about the ‘ant’ Rall is. His side believes in the absolute “moral authority” on anything. Where does he fit on the scale of giants?
Mr. Stockdale would have never contemplated criticizing Mr. McCain, who broke after extended torture, over a long time, having refused to “sell” his country, with the option to come home sooner than his buddies.
morganfrost said it best.
