I may be open to taking the survey with a little more persuasion as to why it is needed and after some research into what the results will be used for but the sweet tooth that I am, no cookie will last for long in my browser, if it even gets planted at all.

Which is why I recommend Firefox. Not only can you have it automatically destroy the cookies when you close the browser, but you can go back and easily destroy the cookies yourself.

As a market researcher by trade, my educated guess is that these seemingly inane questions regarding flossing and liquor has to with attracting advertisers to these blogs. They can say, “See? 75% of these blog readers floss on a regular basis! Corona is the beer most preferred by our blog readers!? etc. etc.

Flossing is kind of a niche category. My guess is that in this case, someone who sells floss is considering advertising, but wants better information about who the target audience is.

The list of beers was shockingly incomplete, and the survey was decidedly not international. I was forced to pick Labatts simply because Alexander Keith’s Pale Ale is a subsidiary of Labatts.

138. Do you believe in UFOs?

I believe in UFOs because I’ve seen them… but the question is too vague. I don’t believe in “alien space craft”, I believe in unidentified flying objects. I’ve seen UFOs, period. I’m not some nut claiming I was abducted, etc. I just saw something that isn’t documented as being in existences. It was an enormous giant black triangle with lights around the corners “flying” very low, making absolutely no sound, and barely (if at all) moving. But it was without a doubt a secret military project. We have documented cases of military aircraft being denied for decades, even though they did exist. I’m not complaining about this either. I think we should have this stuff, and I think people shouldn’t know about it. But I saw what I saw, and I just had to say that I can’t stand this vague question I’ve seen time and time again.

Well, I did it. Although, I’ve always hated surveys since most of the time, the answer I want to give isn’t among the answers given. For example:

What Religion Am I?

I couldn’t find Christian! Oh sure, there was Catholic, Baptist, Methodist and several Christian offshoots and denominations I could have chosen but I’ve never felt completely part of any of those groups. I’ve always agreed a little bit with of all of them. And I’ve always disagreed a little bit with all of them. Only the Bible gets my complete and total respect and agreement. What religion is it?
