Hmmmm. Well, since the film ISLAM V ISLAMISTS was payed for with OUR tax dollars, and was squashed by P-BS indicating that we will not be seeing the film since an ISLAMO-NAZI’s feelings were hurt (TOO DAMN, FLAMING, BAD, BTW), will we be getting a refund from P-BS for those tax dollars? Or will the money be donated to the United Burka Weavers Union for the sake of fostering sensitivity and submission to Jihad?

What a disgrace. It is quite clear to me that PBS SUFFERS FROM CEREBRAL ERECTILE DYSFUNCTION.

Decisions like this will get us all either enslaved or killed!

Thanks again, Michelle, for being on the forefront to alert us to these type of irresponsible situations.

The False Dervish on May 4, 2007 at 9:26 AM

While the film may be embargoed, is the transcript embargoed as well?

Might be some fun to release and distribute that.

Wander on May 4, 2007 at 9:36 AM

Take a long look at your paycheck and understand you are paying not to see this film. Can you say censorship?

Wade on May 4, 2007 at 9:45 AM

This is censorship, pure and simple. Exactly the thing that PBS generally speaks out against, and now they are doing it in a most obvious way.

There is no way that PBS can plead ignorant on this. They know exactly what they are doing and they know that we know what they are doing.

This is purely a power play by PBS reminding all of us out here in the audience who they think is really in charge.

Lawrence on May 4, 2007 at 10:08 AM

I my previous post I meant “CPB”, not PBS. PBS is the network, CPB is the Corporation for Public Broadcasting which makes these decisions.

Lawrence on May 4, 2007 at 10:11 AM

I stand corrected. PBS is the culprit here, but CPB is abetting this decision by their lack of response.

Lawrence on May 4, 2007 at 10:18 AM

PBS has dedicated itself to the destruction of the founding fathers dream for America. What they want in the place of the founding fathers dream for America is Karl Marx’s vision of utopia. In other words they will side with any enemy of representative democracy in their effort to convert America into a communist gulag.

Rock on………………

doriangrey on May 4, 2007 at 10:33 AM

Great Job Michelle, The World needs to see a 1000 plus more of this type of film.
.
I just called the number and the operator sounded a little perturbed, although I did take up a lot of her time asking a lot of questions, before she put me on hold. But before she put me on hold she gave me two other numbers of where to direct my complaints to. The first was CPB - 1 800 272 2190 and the second is PBS - 703 739 5000. I personally would advise anyone to get the numbers themselves, and please make sure you get as much information from the operator as you can, although she may be very very busy today. ;-(

abinitioadinfinitum on May 4, 2007 at 10:35 AM

So, PBS hired a producer who’s dad is a well known Muslim convert and Islamist in the UK?

The Media in this country needs to be restructured.

TheBigOldDog on May 4, 2007 at 10:35 AM

This is disgusting! Time to call my congressman.

Theworldisnotenough on May 4, 2007 at 10:36 AM

I’ll call both numbers.

amerpundit on May 4, 2007 at 10:37 AM

I just called my local PBS, and they were much more cooperative. They’re going to call me back, as the programming lady was out of the office.

amerpundit on May 4, 2007 at 10:46 AM

The lady at my Congressman’s office was excited about hearing about this.

amerpundit on May 4, 2007 at 10:51 AM

Ace has a good post about this too by spongeworthy, one of our fellow moron commenters.

This is ridiculous, alarmist? against who, jihadis?

Its asinine, and the fact that this movie hasn’t been released is unbelievable. Its ridiculous that its getting embargoed, and in my view shows that shows the left for what it is. These are the same people who go on and on about islamophobia, and here is a film showing muslims who are trying to combat the assorted psychos in their culture to show the public that not all muslims are terrorist crackpots, and the stupid leftist tools embargo it. That’s all the proof I’ll ever need, they are fighting for the other side.

Bad Candy on May 4, 2007 at 10:57 AM

We tried to tell you: the Iraqi people just aren’t ready for democracy. And now you need to realize that moderate Muslims just aren’t ready for free speech.

Only white liberals can handle these big, complex ideas.

It took almost the entire Vent before I realized who this guy sounds like: Agent Smith….

“But how can you censor my documentary if you don’t have a mouth…”

Called the local PBS affiliate here in addition to the other numbers and also found the local (we’re now in Augusta, GA) much more helpful then the national bunch. Local affiliate programmer stated that it’s impossible to show it although she thought it would be fair to show it. Also called Thelma Drake’s, John Warner’s & Jim Webb’s office in VA (still vote there) and asked for CPB to stop being taxpayer funded. Got a lackidasical response from Webb & Warner’s office more helpful in Drakes.

Catie96706 on May 4, 2007 at 12:54 PM

My local called me back, and told me there was nothing they could do. Called Tim Mahoney (my Rep), and the office was extremely helpful. They’re apparently passing it on to Washington. Called my Senators, as well.

amerpundit on May 4, 2007 at 1:31 PM

Hmmm so they suckered them in. “Oh, I’ll pay for it. . . . ok now I own you and it.” Dealing with PBS is like dealing with the Democrat Party (I.E. the mob)

- The Cat

P.S. It’s not that organized, please don’t put a donkey head on my pillow.

PBS: Pravda Broadcasting Sh*t

It’s the Republicans’ fault for allowing this outrage of a channel to be funded at all. It’s in the Constitution, guys - government does NOT do TV!

You guys might find this interesting!

I did!

Gerow insists YouTube banned a video by conservative blogger Michelle Malkin about radical Islamists.

amerpundit on May 4, 2007 at 5:27 PM

I just emailed both Senators and my Representative. Whether it does any good or not …

darwin on May 4, 2007 at 6:24 PM

I wrote to each congress critter as well as PBS.

I suggested the following compromise:

Combine the entire series in a video package and include Islam vs. Islamists segment for x dollar contribution to local PBS affiliate. Only those individuals who are interested in viewing the controversial video will bother to purchase the set anyway.

Since PBS is trying to avoid offending one group, that group does not have to go the extra step to purchase the controversial tape to view it (just as no member of said group would have been forced to view it on publicly funded television). PBS should be satisfied that purchasing this set will keep the program in the ‘context’ it was so concerned about.

heroyalwhyness on May 4, 2007 at 7:17 PM

I wrote to my local PBS station, this was the reply I got:

Dear Ms ###….,

Thank you for writing with your thoughts about Rocky Mountain PBS’
fundraising and your concerns about whether we will air “Islam vs.
Islamists.” We truly appreciate your perspective on the programs we air.

In fact, the America at a Crossroads series is designed to be an ongoing
effort to present the many stories of post-9/11 America. The episode
titled, “Islam vs. Islamists” is still under consideration for airing,
pending further improvements to the program. PBS has not shut the door
on airing the program, but simply has asked the producer to make changes
so that it is of the quality for which PBS is known.

Locally at Rocky Mountain PBS, we are watching the issue to see what the
producer decides to do. On balance, we have been very willing to air all
sides to any story. So the long and short is stay tuned.

Best regards and thank you again,
Pam Osborne
Director of Marketing

Translated from PBSspeak means that we will show the film after it has been watered down to match the pablum in America at the Crossroads.

docdave on May 4, 2007 at 8:12 PM

This is typical. I am surprised that they are not VIGOROUSLY trying to recoup their money through distribution. It is sad that the CPB which is a public trust is not open to promoting all viewpoints.

Whats up with the trackbacks…I’m considered spam?

Here’s the trackback link:

Joe on May 4, 2007 at 8:43 PM

There’s something else you can do: refuse to contribute another dime to any PBS station until the CPB agrees to air “Islam vs. Islamists” WITHOUT further alterations.

There are some that will disagree with this on principle, others on strategy grounds. But PBS may have to feel the pinch in the wallet before we get any movement on this issue.

RD on May 4, 2007 at 10:30 PM

Great Vent Michelle, your interview answered all my questions.

I’ve signed the petition, called General Jason Altmire (Dhimmi-PA), our good for nothing new senator Casey and Rhino Specter. I doubt if our congressional delegation even bothers to listen to “we the People”. I’ve never gotten a response from any of them. Down south, our senators would be on the phone calling us back, asking us questions.

I hope this video airs somewhere, I want the DVD.

Zorro on May 4, 2007 at 10:32 PM

Great Vent Michelle!

I wish I could say that PBS would change, but I do not believe that to be the case. In my opinion PBS is run by, and permeated with, those firmly committed to the Left and it’s agenda, and regardless of public funding will not change in their bias.

I hope to see a complete housecleaning in organizations like PBS in my lifetime, it may yet happen if we really do have two more disasters and the Left looses influence.

Let us not forget the management of PBS when that opportunity arises. The entire organization needs a complete and thorough housecleaning.

omegaram on May 5, 2007 at 1:52 AM

Since PBS is trying to avoid offending one group…

Hell, they offend me every day by bashing Christianity at every turn. I wonder how many changes the “producer” asked Bill Moyers to make so his shows are “of the quality for which PBS is known”?

BacaDog on May 5, 2007 at 11:21 AM

I’ve been argueing with a relative, about bias at PBS, and this is more ammo for me! Not really good news, but if life gives you lemons ….

USA, all the way!

ValhallaMike on May 5, 2007 at 7:33 PM

This is off topic so forgive me….

Zarwahiri has a new video out. He says the dems bill they sent to the pres is proof that the US has lost the war. It’s seems only the traitorous dems are surprised at this.

Anyway, on Fox News Sunday with Chris Wallace, Chris Dodd, democratic presidential candidate, and all around pukebag dem tool, was asked about Zarwahiris statement. He chuckled and then said “Zarwahiri is playing his game and probably wants the US to be bogged down in Iraq”. WOW! This sounds pretty good until you realize that al-Qaeda wants all infidels OFF OF THEIR HOLY LAND so they can institute the Islamic state!

See-dub, or somebady….we need a topic on this Zarwahiri comment and wait for the traitorous dems responses so we can pile on. Yeah, I know it’s childish, but like gun pron, it’s sooooooo much fun! Also, someone with the stomach should also monitor DU, KOS, and huffpo for the inevitable wailing and knashing of teeth.

Lastly, if anyone thinks bradky or any other lib tool deserves a conservatives respect, I submit that their response (or, more likely, their non-response) to this statement from Zarwahiri will be a perfect indication if they are ready to be reasonable.

csdeven on May 6, 2007 at 10:20 AM

If only this film were anti-Christian, THEN they would have had it played dozens of times.

Maybe this guy should be hired by “Hot Air Films” to do the same documentary…
