Bill has interviewed everyone of those guests. If MM can’t handle the loons, how is going to handle the half way reasonable folks?

IE, the heavy set muslim dude.The minute he admitted that the taxi driver muslims were way out of line, MM had the perfect opportunity to agree with him, give him credit, and then re-press her issue about the faucet. He disarmed her by agreeing and she lost control at that point.

She is used to dealing with people who totally disagree, but on any show, you have to learn how to agree yet not lose control of the conversation.

She will get it, and when she does, look out! Because her natural fire cracker personality will be double effective against half way reasonable people like Jane and that other goofy liberal with the joker grin.

Ms Hilton will only have one hour per day out of her cell, but will otherwise be separated from the rest of the population. This is supposedly for her own protection, and possibly also to lay to rest any plans for a “lesbian prison sex video.”

Honestly, she actually said she didn’t know she wasn’t allowed to drive while her license was suspended. Sounds like she could use some protection from herself.

This PC-think will turn all our heads to mush, if we let it.

I was never a Joan Rivers fan until I heard this. I must have listened to it a dozen times, just for the pure pleasure of it. It still makes me laugh and cheer every time I hear it.

Yeah, posting tomorrow will include some breakdowns: Rudy on the ferrets, Joan, and one more I just found on video that I didn’t think was out there.

Actually, if my memory serves me correctly, there is video (as well as audio) for that Joan Rivers “incident”. I believe that I saw the video (a number of years ago). I’m not sure where one would look for it, though (the video clip).

Morris started out pretty interesting, but (as usual) you gotta wonder if he is really very bright if he thinks McCain won the debate.

Only Guliani and Paul did worse than McCain.

Take a lesson from Joan!

We let them bamboozle us with a single word – Islamophobe, racist, bigot, homophobe — and put us on knee-jerk defensive, probably for the remainder of the argument.

We need be on alert for the words and wary of the rhetorical gimmick. When the attack word is injected, don’t gloss over it. Don’t defend against it. Stop the discussion in its tracks. Interrupt everything to explain that it’s a rhetorical ploy, how it works, and what is its effect. Reject the gimmick point blank, and offer to restart the conversation, addressing the issue on its merits on a level playing field.

As long as we let them use PC terminology to define the terms of debate, we are destined to lose it.

BTW, the next time FoxNews/The Factor tracks down Hanoi Jane like that, they should send “the Firecracker” after her. (That would be… priceless.)

Are you suggesting that Michelle can’t handle herself around more ‘articulate’ folks?

No. I think she was prepared for the loons and her usual retorts were not enough. There were a few spots when she could have taken back control of the conversation by agreeing with some reasoned points and then pressing her main point again.

I have every faith that she’ll do better and better each opportunity she has.

But, Spiderman 3 was good (My niece and I caught the 7PM showing)… and it was a sell out.
